I got frustrated.
Simply, if you get really sick in Michigan - and up until this week those were the vast majority of people they were testing, and that was pretty much the case nationwide until just recently due to the lack of test kits - you are significantly more likely to die than in any other area of the country. That was it. Other people are arguing overall death rates and pointing out modelling and etc. That rate is now 9%, it is actually going up with the increased testing.
Could you spare a prayer or two for those Michiganders who are really sick?
My point is, again, of the people who are sick enough to be tested as opposed to everyone who comes down with it - that's what you are talking about - the death rate is significantly higher than anywhere else in the US. Now 9%.
Can you understand? People in Michigan are not recovering at the same rate when they get really sick.
If you get sick enough in Michigan to get tested you are much more likely to die than elsewhere. 9% now. I'm not talking about everyone who gets it, just the really sick people who are at risk of dying. More of them die here. How about those prayers, please?
They can come if they stay, but they are supposed to self-quarantine for 14 days. Most aren't. Problem is, they come from hot spots both in and out of state and they arrive with no food and no supplies, so they immediately go out into the community. Then, they get bored before the quarantine period is over and go wander around. Seeing this firsthand.
Michigan's numbers are derived in the same way as most, if not all other states. It is the only metric we have at this point.
You likely don't know anyone who died from this, or have to put a relative in a care home shortly in a state where they just required reporting of skilled nursing facility covid cases to the health department two days ago. I can tell you it certainly changed my attitude. But you do you. The internet is lots of fun when you can look at these things dispassionately. I can't.
No shit. Hello from Michigan. We lead the nation in lockdown restrictions AND in death rate for known COVID cases. Our governor made us #1 - twice!
See, you still miss it. The pandemic is ongoing. Every state is still seeing increases in cases and is nowhere near their testing goals, so every CFR number is "bogus". The fact remains that the death rate from known cases is higher here than making the same comparison anywhere else. Why is that so hard to see? Whitmer is a fuck up and the numbers show it. Would you rather be in southern Michigan right now or in the Buckeye state?
I have to live here. Show me how you get that number. I could use a little hope.
Or are you just going by your feelings, like liberals do?
Cool. Love that. Makes me feel so much better living in Michigan with this idiot putting the highest number of restrictions on us - and the fact still remains that for all your nebulous indistinguishable quantitative enumeration more people known to have it are dying here than anywhere else in the US. Those are the official numbers.
Do you understand my point now?
ya, what is it then, brah?
Of course, but again there is limited testing everywhere in the country. Kinda shoots the state's "explanation" in the ass.
Spez: or maybe she's withholding testing. There's no way for us in the state to know at this point.
Got a lot of press. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffsb&q=5+year+old+child+covid-19+detroit&ia=web&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.freep.com%2Fstory%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fmichigan%2Fdetroit%2F2020%2F04%2F22%2Fmemorial-fund-skylar-herbert-coronavirus-covid-19%2F3007768001%2F&pn=1

The state's bullshit explanation is that they are only testing sick people, but that's the case in pretty much every other state. You can speculate, and you might be right, but at this point that's the actual number.
Most restrictions in the nation and the highest death rate. Not working out like she planned, or is it?
Thanks. It means a lot.
I can't visit at all. She has to go into quarantine for 14 days. If she is covid free, she gets a shared room. We can't even tour the facility, complete lockdown. When she leaves quarantine, we can visit from an outside window.
It will be very uncomfortable for the two weeks to come. They are going to try to work out video chat from quarantine. The thing is, there are almost no admissions for non-hospitalized elders occurring now in Michigan. They have to develop procedures on the fly. It's a mess. No help from the state, just contradictory regulations, sometimes changing in mere hours and massive bureaucratic bullshit.
Thank you, my favorite Trump rally stenographer, for your prayers and support. Truly appreciate it.
I feel the same pride voting for my Michigan county sheriff who won't enforce many of Whitmer's orders. There's 4 county Sheriffs here who banded together and took a stand. Made it to national news last week.
I don't know, I do know that Witless was one of two governors to ban HCQ for coronavirus, for about a week, then ended up begging Trump for all the federal government could spare.
I have to put a family member in a home here in the land of halfWhitmer next week. No choice in the matter. That's how I came across this.
Pray for her, please.
Appreciate it. Thanks!
Got it. Thanks fren.
Yeah. But what does that have to do with this? Am I missing something?
Some of the error margins are 8 or 9 percent. They also won't reveal the skew. This is propaganda.
Whitmer is angling for it. Imagine her mindset with that much power.
