Not going to stop acquittal. Its never Trumper revenge. They are hoping for a juicy media cycle. But I think McConnell will push for ending deliberation, under the threat of bringing the Bidens into the mix, and that may put enough pressure on the never Trumpers to vote for acquittal without delaying and moving on to witnesses.
Biden will be irrelevant, the whistle blower's identity needs to be protected, Schiff is not a material witness, and calling any of the managers will be "just a political stunt". End result, Pompeo, Bolton, other Dem called witnesses will be allowed to testify, none of the GOP witnesses (other than maybe the Secretary of Basketweaving with nothing to say as a show witness).
