Flynn will have served his sentence before an appeal winds its way to an actual appellate court. Assuming he enters prison in February, he'll be stuck there 9 months before the election is over and Trump can pardon him.

The question is, will Trump expend political capital to pardon him the moment the sentencing gavel falls? And even if this is done, Flynn has still been stripped of most or all of his money, his house, and has had to deal with the mental harassment all of this has brought to his family. Same thing with Roger Stone.

Neither would have been exposed to process crimes, but for the criminal FBI investigations (and I mean the investigation itself was a crime).

John Bolton was a good choice. Trump used Bolton as a threat to others.

Trump: "Look, I'm a lover, not a fighter. I just want to do business and both our countries get wealthy. But this guy, this guy Bolton....he's a warhawk....he wants to fuck up your shit in the worst way. I'm trying to hold him back, but I need your help. Let's make trade deals and peace, not war, because this guy Bolton just gets off on that.

Of course, from Bolton's point of view, you can only be pimped out as a threat so many times before you figure out you'll never get to unleash the dogs of war. It was at that moment of realization that he quit, probably.

I can't buy a pistol without an extensive waiting to get a pistol permit

Have you tried renouncing your citizenship and becoming a Saudi subject?

*no more socialist than we already are

Would have been more accurate, but probably have less of a dramatic effect.

Support for the job Trump is doing doesn't necessarily translate into votes FOR Trump. I'd say the best we can hope for is people who are doing better and fairly satified just don't bother to vote at all, because I just don't see one third of black voters abandoning the Dem party, even for a one off vote just for Trump.

I'd like to be wrong, of course.

If he doesn't blow his money, he's already set for life, he'll never have to work a day again in his life.

I disagree. He shouldn't get one more dollar from the NFL. It's already a shame he's still collecting from Nike.
