Yes. Charleston, South Carolina. Announcement to remove was timed for the 5th anniversary of the terrible tragedy of the Emanuel 9 AME Church shooting where a racist murdered nine Black people. Timing took advantage of people’s emotions and reason and logic was abandoned.

This is to restore voting rights to convicted felons who have completed their sentences. They did the crime and they have done the time. People make mistakes in life. If they’ve paid their debt to society why should they be penalized the rest of their lives? People can change.
