Honestly, I just hear this kid whining about “why didn’t the government solve everything before it was even a big problem”. And what “hell” conditions is he describing? Public transport shut down (probably wise), gas stations closed - but he’s not sure, it may be a rumor, and there are long lines at the hospitals (duh).
Bodies in the streets? Rioting and civil disorder? Anybody he knows dead? Loss of electricity or clean water? Nope.
Perhaps the only certain thing is that whatever you hear the US news media opining or predicting should be ignored.

This may actually be some realistic thinking about the problem. Certainly there needs to be due process. But there needs to be deeper thinking about why very large numbers of people think they can abandon any responsible role in society and become a burden and a danger to everyone else. The ones who refuse to change probably belong in camps where they have to work for each meal, day by day.
