True. Too much overt pessimism saps motivation.* But: too much optimism denies reality and leaves you in shock when the bad thing you feared actually happens. I think you could make the case that realists are considered doomers here at this point. I don't think there's no hope for Trump but when I see posts saying "I am 100% sure now that we'll win in court", or "Legal losses are actually victories because", I say I'd rather be a 'doomer'.

*And is banned by the NT, Jesus said not to worry repeatedly.

As a doomer, I note that people said the same thing last week, and the week before that. I'd love to be proven wrong, but at some point you need to prepare to deal with the worst.

I'm a doomer. I don't even know why its shameful to observe that organised groups of evil people in positions of power, with the support of all media and academia, are actually hard to beat.

No. Actually giving back jurisdiction is not possible. Dual jurisdiction neither satisfies the treaty nor recognises reality on the ground. Sometimes its just not possible to fix wrongs from a century ago. And releasing pedos isn't any way to try, anyway. Fulfil obligations to protect living children today, dead Indian generations come second.

This gets no love from anyone when I say it, but Kagan is the best of the leftists. That's a very low bat, but it's true.

He's flubbed two big ones. In Bostock he said sex included gender identity and voted with the left to force employers to recognise transgenderism.

In another case he let a pedo off because he decided literally half Oklahoma actually belongs to Indians.

That said, he's been very strong in other cases, including this one.

Good to see Gorsuch being so solid on this. I have him pegged as wobbly but this is very good.

No. There are now 5 conservative judges, plus Roberts and the three universally recognised lefties.

He seems to have gone full Souter, not just Kennedy. When was the last time he actually voted with the conservatives?

No one is ever 100% sure. But so far she's 1 from 1. FWIW, if Romney actually could have pulled a McCain, he would have

The good thing is, the most senior justice on the winning side has the right to write the opinion. When he sides with the Left, that means the order of precedence goes: Thomas, Alito, then the new three.

Thomas opinions :D :D

No, beating the USSR actually was a matter of security for the USA in a way that e.g. bombing Libya isn't.

It's normal to divide over belief systems where the beliefs in question are important. Not disagreeing that beating the Left is priority #1 though.

She adopted them after having 5 of her own and being a church leader and a judge. How many left wing career women have 5 kids?

Or, the GOP goes all out on voter ID, this time not needing John Roberts' blessing. This actually happened when they stole the election from Grover Cleveland; they fixed the elections and he won 4 years later.

The cool thing is, in two weeks we'll know if Powell was full of BS or not. Hopefully she's not. If she is, though, I hope you'll admit you were wrong.

She doesn't have all year. And we all know what happened to the Left waiting for the big Mueller expose, and us waiting for Durham. At some point, people do need to put up or shut up. I don't have a problem with others waiting another fortnight, but you do need to be prepared to call BS eventually.

Exactly, I'll be partying hard if it turns out she's right, but all the signs are that she is not.

No, I'll just wait three weeks until you're claiming Powell took bribes / is a secret leftist, etc.

It is obvious. Common sense says the election was stolen. But common sense fails in courts of law all the time.

Note: I still think there's an outside chance of finding mass ballot fraud. But Powell and Dominion are going to turn out to be a waste of time, IMO.
