The stereotype of a New Yorker is brash and rude, that's been a thing for years. People expect them to be pushy or rude, but also find many are very nice personally once you know them. It's like some countries have a different sense of personal space, so we feel like they're uncomfortably close to us when talking. It doesn't make them automatically creepy, it's just not what we expect. We in the west and midwest find easterners snotty or a New Yorker accent grating on the ears, but that doesn't make them bad people.

Just keep the goal in mind: not just to "win" or win enough to counteract the margin of Democrat fraud. The goal is overwhelming victory, to annihilate the Democrat party, so decent Americans can live in freedom and peace again. Every last minute Trump voter will help.

Do Democrats genuinely not know that many of the children weren't with their parents crossing the border, or are they deliberately turning a blind eye to child trafficking for the sake of political points?

I suppose there might be some of each, but it needs to be made clear: we're talking about 500 victims of CHILD TRAFFICKING, not "family separation." There is no family in this country, and there never was. Sold or stolen, and then trafficked, under the control of coyotes and cartels. Admit the truth, filthy Democrats.

The problem is this still incentivizes more of this behavior. Sell your kid to a coyote or cartel, or pay a coyote if you can, and then refuse to take your kid back. Voila! Now they've got a comfy life in the Land of Promise, and you have a chance for chain migration in the future.

Send the child back to their country of origin to be cared for by their own people, even if it's foster care or an orphanage. I'm sorry, it's terrible for the child to have such crappy parents, but it prevents hundreds more from being sold and abused to try to circumvent the law.

The compromise I'm willing to make for DACA is that if they actually were brought here as children, then once they GO BACK to their country of origin, they can still have a chance to immigrate legally if they wish, jumping through all the requisite hoops. Their parents who brought them here cannot come back ever, they are criminals. Any adults and older teens who came here cannot come back ever, no chance to legally immigrate. You broke the law, those are the consequences. This isn't a penal colony, so go home and stay there.

edit: stupid spelling error

Not only that, he spoke of this policy just a week after an illegal alien, one who's been here for decades and has a long rap sheet, killed a policeman. Nice timing, Joe.

I don't understand why so many stupid women are crying about kids here illegally and insisting they deserve to stay and get all this free stuff. SHE doesn't get any free stuff, and more importantly, HER KIDS don't get all those treats either. Her kid has to go in hock for years to pay for college, while they offer reduced or free tuition to someone who doesn't belong here. She and her kids have to budget and live within their means (or, more accurately, her husband has to work his tail off to provide that nice house), but someone here illegally gets money - from her family! - to live off while working tax-free under the table. Why does she think some people are allowed to break the law and take tax money from other people just because they have brown skin? Does she think they're not capable to following the law?

I agree, TV and movies have such an influence. No matter what the purported topic of a show or movie is, or what time period it's set in, they will shoehorn in something progressive. If you watch even things set in historical times, they still include copious amounts of casual sex and adultery, just to make everyone thinks it's perfectly normal, no big deal. They include females characters doing things they seldom did (sword fighting, scientist, doctor) to show she's always smarter and stronger than any man, they add minority characters in places they would never be, anything church related is shown as evil and judgmental, the business man or the rich man is always wicked and cruel, and of course there must always be at least one LGTB character (not P for pedophile unless they're associated with the church though, just to make sure you realize Christians are bad).

It's probably better if they don't mention Thomas Jefferson, since they've decided he's a villain. They would insist he was an evil rapist of that slave girl - which is not proven, it was someone in the Jefferson family, either the man himself, his brother, or his nephew who lived with him, and contemporary accounts of his personality suggest it's very unlike Thomas to do so. But that is presented as fact, while never mentioning that he tried to include language in the Declaration about the evil of slavery, and that he was a proponent of abolition (gradual, carefully planned to avoid massacres like Haiti). Owning and keeping slaves was hypocritical of him, certainly you can say that, but you should be fair and point out that he also disliked the institution and wanted it to change, and that he was in serious debt so unable to free his own slaves.

As with any other history topic, they should be fair and point out both sides in context of the time period instead of just insisting "white man bad" all the time. Columbus has suffered a similar fate in terms of reputation, by dint of extracting sentences from his diaries out of context and refusing to tell the whole story.

That's exactly why they started does DNA testing to make sure the kid was actually with parents. Frequently, it was just some scumbag who rented or stole a kid to come across the border. Some of the kids must have been owned by a coyote, because at least one child was trafficked across in a "family unit" multiple times and they never were able to find out whose kid it actually was. I guess the coyotes could offer a deluxe package for border crossing, pay extra and you can rent a child. Another woman tried to cheat the DNA test by spitting in "her" baby's mouth multiple times before they did the swabs. They're not sending their best.

It's just mind blowing that so many people either totally ignore stuff like this, or know absolutely nothing but still insist their opinion is right. They're literally encouraging child trafficking, which is rife with child abuse.

We have to stop incentivizing things like this. The best option is that once the child's home country/family is found, they are sent back. If the family refuses to take their child because they've sold them, their home country can put them into care. They don't stay here, encouraging more parents to sell kids to coyotes. At the very least, if we have to keep the kid, then there should be no options at all for their families to legally enter the country through chain migration. If you sell your own kid or send them off with human traffickers, you're a terrible person that we don't want in this country.

I'm sure your husband is just a nice person who hadn't really thought the statement through, but seriously, if he had thought about it for about 5 seconds he'd see it's a ridiculous thing to say. How many poor people are there in Central and South American alone? How many people in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc. (not including the cartel and gang members that also come skipping across the border whenever they want)? And if we're going to be "fair," we can't just accept people south of the border, what about poor people in Africa or India? Start adding those numbers up Mr. Nice Guy.

Yes, always with the specter of starving children who are "food insecure"! They get housing, welfare, SNAP, free breakfast and lunch at school, more food sent home with the kid - how can there still be any hungry children? If you can't manage to feed your kid with all that, you're a hopeless, abusive loser who shouldn't be in charge of a cockroach, much less a child.

Either it's working and they're just moving the goalpost to steal more money, or it's not working and we should be doing something else.

Chris Pratt works in Hollywood, and is a relatively new A-lister. There's a 0% chance he could ever openly admit to having any MAGA or conservative thoughts. He's allowed to be an "no-judgement tolerant" kind of Christian, which makes his lefty coworkers feel like they're really open-minded about their friends, but he'll never work again if they sniff out a hint of Republicanism. Frankly, it's a bit dangerous for him to try to keep silent about politics, hopefully he has the nerve to remain silent.

It definitely does in the case of child sexual abuse. Gropin' Joe didn't just decide to start fondling kids when he had a granddaughter, this could be why Hunter is totally screwed up and has incest pics on his own computer. The victims of this kind of abuse really need therapy and help, but the Bidens have been covering up their corruption for decades.

One advantage to social media posts like this is that it reveals their agenda quite clearly, now parents know what sort of people are indoctrinating their children.

Conservatives need to plan ahead for this - think about student loan debt, salaries, cost of living, learn to live on a budget, and save a good nest egg before kids so mom can homeschool.

You're probably right, although some I think is also down to social media making people crazy and giving them a very distorted view of the world. I like to read about history and watch those old videos from the 40s or 50s, and there's always reams of comments claiming every housewife was miserable and had to be on drugs to get through her day. It's nonsense, women who were lucky enough to be housewives didn't just sit around eating bonbons all day. They had other housewives around to talk to, they weren't required to monitor their children obsessively for decades, and there were lots of causes and groups they volunteered for - church groups, charity things, school functions. All done face-to-face, instead of social media with "likes" and curated pics of other's lives.

Oh I know it's just wishful thinking, everyone just sits down and cries crocodile tears at the thought of making illegal aliens leave. That does actually raise the question though - why aren't the kids automatically citizens of their parent's countries? I mean, isn't our "birthright citizenship" thing kind of unusual? Generally, a child born on foreign soil will not be a citizen of that country, only of their parents' country. Legally, shouldn't the Chinese, Mexican, Guatemalan, etc. children born here be citizens of their parents countries?

2
Frog_Anne 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is a problem, but it really irritates me. If someone robs banks, and then gets caught, do their kids get to keep the money because they're accustomed to that lifestyle? If someone's here illegally, then their kids should not be citizens, and the whole family should be sent back to wherever the parents are from. No, it won't be nice for the kids, but that's the fault of their criminal parents for putting them in that position. Even if it's not possible to remove the kids "citizenship" they should still go with their parents. Once they're of age, they can chose to come back to the US if they want, but the parents cannot. Tough luck, quit breaking the law. Slinking over the border, popping out a kid, and then claiming you have to stay because you had a kid is ridiculous. Boot them all out and make them fix their own crummy country.

I still like the one about still drinking "garbage" diet Coke, plus the one about the Iranian rocket that blew up. He tweeted that we had nothing to do with it blowing up, and attached that picture with little arrows and labels for all the burn marks. That one had me cracking up.

Yes, there's a lot of pressure to go to college, all the adults telling high schoolers that they'll never amount to anything unless they go to college, it's a ticket to a good job, no problem paying back those loans. Like you, I went to college to get an Mrs. degree, but it didn't work for me. Girls are told that they need a degree and a career, and feminists insist that being a housewife is degrading/boring. After they're married and have a kid, they discover that the career is not fulfilling and they want to stay home, but still have huge amounts of debt to pay off. They would be better served if adults told the truth, that they will most likely want to stay home with their kids, and to plan accordingly in terms of debt and time spent on degrees.

Yes! I read once that the US used to have some of the best boatbuilders in the world, top of the line yachts. Then the government, in their infinite wisdom and greed, added some huge tax to "luxury" things like yachts. It absolutely cratered the boat building business, because the normal people couldn't afford one anymore, so most of the old companies/families that had been building those boats for generations went out of business. We lost all that knowledge and experience.
