Of course these government employees could care less about the shutdown as they'll always get paid... plus all of them are mostly millionaires anyways. Maybe during times of crises, govt. workers shouldn't get paid either, then maybe they'll change their tune on indefinite shutdowns...

Reminds me of criticisms I heard about transporting Coronavirus patients to hospitals in other regions where no cases had yet been reported, thereby spreading it elsewhere

(edit: perhaps due to hospital shortages, resources in certain places, etc.)

Perhaps a publicity stunt to increase CNN's ratings? Maybe a fear mongering tactic to make people take it more seriously "because Chris Cuomo got it"

It's fitting that she went on The Daily Show for this interview, which has the acronym TDS. Sounds like Trump Derangement Syndrome to me!

They are asking the FCC to limit the public’s right to hear directly from the president about the federal government’s handling of the global pandemic, that any broadcasts of his press conferences come with a pronounced disclaimer, and that media figures with different political views than the progressive organization be further censored.

Hollywood is considered the heart of the world's film industry. Modern economic theory was developed in America as well, at U Chicago, Princeton, Harvard, etc. the U.S. holds 23 of the 25 top college rankings in the world.

How did this even become a mainstream thought?

It feels like 5-10 years ago this would've been universally condemned. This seems to be the neocons/libs new version of "diplomacy", which sounds more like "appeasement."

Left:

It's Trump's fault for not having the foresight to fix this issue!

I don't know if this is true. Apple is donating ventilators as we speak, and from what I understand, the process to convert a facility to make ventilators can take some time.

However, Ebright doesn’t exclude the possibility that the virus’s spread started from poor biosecurity in China. A leading theory is that the virus jumped from wildlife to humans. Some researchers speculate this happened at a live-animal market where exotic species are sold for food. But Ebright also notes that such wildlife viruses are collected in laboratories, including in Wuhan. “Therefore, it’s also a possibility that this virus entered the human population through accidental infection of a lab worker carrying out field collection, or an accident by a lab worker characterizing the sample in a laboratory,” he said.
