They basically succeeded in running the Donald off reddit. Isn't that exactly what they wanted?

We’re not leaving Reddit at all, at least not most of us and not yet. We’re pulling double duty, running back in to the burning building (dumpster fire?) that is Reddit until every last pede makes it out alive.

Whats the point of being their though? It is censored. Here you can converse and share ideas and memes and NAMES.

I've noticed that new here is already funnier than new at T_D... between the algorithms and quarantine there was probably not much point in staying anyway.

So in a way they did win I guess.

I never joined or supported that site at least not actively. Couple of ad blockers and sparse visits to other subs at most for page views. Reddit and youtube are in ruins they will die of natural causes from shooting themselves in the foot to much.

Agree. This is what happens when you mix politics and business. If you want a successful business, you need to be neutral. If you want to be a SJW whiner website, then say so, but don't mistreat users that don't agree with you. Spez tried to have it all (traffic with mistreatment). At some point, the mistreated leave.

I didn't leave the dom.

The two forums operating in tandem draws a stark contrast between authoritarianism and liberty. It really brings the conflict into focus. Think of this place as R&R for the meme warriors serving on the front lines, an oasis to rally the spirits of the weary. This one reminds us of what we're fighting for, while the other reminds us that the fight ain't over yet.

Reddit looks like it's still functioning; but when we've all departed and they finally get what they think they wanted, they're gonna be surprised at just how lifeless and sterile their site will have become in our absence. Because we have the ideas, enthusiasm and buying power of winners, and all they got was a preachy, humorless and echo-filled dump.

Just like the Soviet Union, Reddit will go through the motions, pretending to be viable, and lots of leftists will shill for it. But the advertisers will see that it's just an empty husk, and that the rowdy MAGA party's taking place elsewhere. And, those advertisers'll begin quietly slipping away from the arid Reddit wasteland in the dead of night.

I have been waiting for this for a long time. We have been losing by staying on TD for the last year. That place is a trap. We need freedom.

A lot of posters expressed anxiety about t_d being suddenly shut down before the election and having nowhere to go. This solves the problem.

Penny_is_Thicc (3 points)

You ask if we lost so by definition winning would be what? Staying in a quarantined sub, basically prohibited from voicing our opinions on other subs while getting banned for wrong think? Sounds like a lose lose to me. Why not have a backup place in case and still use reddit if you so choose?

OhLollyLollyPop (2 points)

I don't think it's what they wanted or they would have just shut it down like they did to a lot of other smaller subs, like r/Mr Trump. They wanted to keep the traffic without letting our posts get coverage. They also fixed it so that spiders wouldn't archive our posts. We became invisible, but they could still use us for high traffic count when pitching ads. Very diabolical, but they never wanted us gone, just corralled. Given that, why should we stay there?

Just because one loses a battle does not mean they lose the war

Belleoffreedom (1 point)

Yeah, we are in danger of losing our history. But we aren't dead, and now we have a new place to talk.

I’m still on reddit. This is the fallout shelter.
