is the contract legally binding if you're drunk? it's a serious question

This wasn't hunter agreeing to buy a time share unit by signing a contract while intoxicated. THAT likely could be challenged.

But this was hunter [knowingly] getting himself to the repair shop... wasn't "too drunk" to drive. Or chances are he was too drunk to drive in which case he would be liable for his behavior. Hunter sought out the repair man with the INTENT of entering into a contract for repairs. There is nothing nefarious in that on the repair man's part. Hunter is liable and the contract IS binding.
