IForgotMyPw 57 points ago +57 / -0

Even if not directly saying so, it seems the implication is there.

17
Rock_Flag_Eagle 17 points ago +17 / -0

Oh they'll vote Democrat. They would never not vote Democrat, because of the implication

7
daniel1116 7 points ago +7 / -0

So the democrats get you alone in an ocean of socialism, famine and violence all around... Of course you have a choice not to vote Democrat... But you wouldn't dare. Because of the implication.

5
Rock_Flag_Eagle 5 points ago +5 / -0

Think about all the stories and videos there are of people at democrat rallies and protests getting screamed at, harassed, physically attacked, and even murdered. Those are the kinds of things going through your head when you're choosing whether to vote Democrat or not! I mean, it's not, like, a big deal or anything...

4

Look, I need you to understand this, okay? You’re making it seem like I’m some sort of monster or something.

The thing I don't understand is how democrats are so twisted and evil that believe in releasing criminals into general society.

They have to live in the cities with all of the criminals, yet they want them let go.

If you mother fuckers riot again, I'm going down the voter registration list and burning your houses.

5
Italians_Invented_2A 5 points ago +5 / -0

Cultural Marxism is on the side of the criminals. Me or others can tell you more if you want, not sure if your question was rhetorical.

Thingthing22 52 points ago +52 / -0

This is how they poll. They don't need you to see one way or the other who you vote for. They need you to respond to an issue and they'll know.

"Take you off our list, add you to the opposition list."

23
banumerchantmarine 23 points ago +23 / -0

I never respond to any text from any number I do not recognize, nor do I answer calls from anyone not in my contact list.

If they need me to call back I have voicemail (generic, no name, not my voice)

People need to wise up.

9
Italians_Invented_2A 9 points ago +9 / -0

You should never answer your door either, if you're not expecting someone.

3
banumerchantmarine 3 points ago +3 / -0

Generally I think that's good advice. Unless you're prepared. ;)

1
Italians_Invented_2A 1 point ago +1 / -0

Prepared for what?

3
banumerchantmarine 3 points ago +3 / -0

At the point of entry? Attempted forced entry or reconnaissance. I'll leave it at that, but there's a million ways to make an entry so safe even your kids could answer the door.

1
Antifederalist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same, I also change my number every year to a different area code. Usually based on a town with a funny name. No one memorizes phone numbers anymore so keeping the same number for anything not business related is stupid.

1
philandy 1 point ago +1 / -0

It might be wise to answer through the end of the year, actually. I found out by one of their guys on the beat that the Census is having to start making calls to complete it. I do suggest still avoiding calls from your area code that you don't know and don't respond back to texts.

0
banumerchantmarine 0 points ago +1 / -1

If someone needs something official, they can leave a voicemail.

Do not respond to unsolicited texts or calls.

1
philandy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Many servants are not allowed to leave voicemails due to something called PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and that is part of a job I do.

The best solution for now is to have an automated answering service. I'm actually looking into them, seeing if any are available with white and blacklists.

1
banumerchantmarine 1 point ago +1 / -0

If anyone official has anything they have to convey, such as someone working for the census, they can and WILL absolutely leave a message saying what you need to do, and if it is legit they will give their name and the name of their organization and they will make you look up the number from a .gov site.

1
philandy 1 point ago +1 / -0

That does not work with PII, as with what I do I have been ordered to not leave messages. I wish they would send out a warm contact voicemail and text message though, would reduce a crappy part of my job.

Felony convictions?!

Not even misdemeanors or civil violations as you might expect from a protestor who's toeing the line a bit by blocking a street..

Felony convictions..

9
CovefeefevoC 9 points ago +9 / -0

This is the result of one of the more recent amendments to pass in the last midterm I think.

https://ballotpedia.org/Florida_Amendment_4,Voting_Rights_Restoration_for_Felons_Initiative(2018)

I voted against it- but IIRC they did a double pork thing where they attached something else to it that was framed as a moral good- but it's fuzzy. It was one of the hardest elections for the obtuse language used throughout all the amendment issues. I had to re-read some of them like 4-5 times to parse all the legalese and double/triple negatives.

6
Deaduponaviral 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is why I vote against almost every initiative. Regardless they are always there to increase the size of the government, but dumb peons enjoy paying more taxes almost every time.

2
Rooster-J-Cogburn [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah I'm not a fan of "Constitutional" amendments. If something stupid gets through it is almost impossible to rectify.

1
DeltaTango 1 point ago +1 / -0

The thing is, Florida allows felons to vote once they pay back society. They just have to...you know, pay back society, including any outstanding fines first. And even that's unacceptable to Democrats.

20
NewUser1758 20 points ago +20 / -0

The same man that said republicans buy shoes too must have decided that in his gated community, it doesn't matter if the criminals are released from prison.

This is the world the democrats are creating, a world where only the elite can go to sleep at night with any semblance of security.

7
RiverFenix 7 points ago +7 / -0

14
Rooster-J-Cogburn [S] 14 points ago +14 / -0

6
jenniferq18 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yea, that's too bad. I found this: https://assets.floridarrc.com/2020/07/FRRC_-Michael-Jordan-Donation-Press-Release.pdf

Pretty funny coming from a guy who makes billions off of slave made shoes being sold to "discriminated" people a 150 bucks a pop who then kill each other if enough aren't being released.

1
philandy 1 point ago +2 / -1

I do have to admit Nike Fly's line is a bold ass design, adding plates like that and still having enough stability was genius whoever designed that.

Still doesn't cover the slavery.

8
physsijim 8 points ago +8 / -0

Wow. Well, I'm not surprised. They are, after all, the Party of Crime.

8
Rooster-J-Cogburn [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Florida through a constitutional amendment now automatically restores felons voting rights after their sentence(no doubt thanks to all the carpet bagging liberals). However the legislature stepped in and said complete means all fines and restitution must be paid. They sued and said it a poll tax and luckily Florida SCOTUS said not so fast.

6
Italians_Invented_2A 6 points ago +6 / -0

Which is Lagoa, the possibile pick for SCOTUS

I don't trust her, but I need to give credit where it's due. She was based on this one.

3
Rooster-J-Cogburn [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Definitely. Complete is complete, fines and restitution are part of the sentance.

4
TruthyBrat 4 points ago +4 / -0

Restoring voting rights has become the cause célèbre for Democrats because so any of their constituents are felons. Because racism. Or disposition to violent crime, one of the two.

1
philandy 1 point ago +1 / -0

I disagree with the concept - Rights are Rights and it should only ever be considered if it's a conflict of interest like letting someone be a poll worker if they've been found guilty of poll shenanigans. I would even let Hannibal vote because eating people has nothing to do with that!

1
CovefeefevoC 1 point ago +1 / -0

2018 midterms reversed that through an amendment in FL

https://ballotpedia.org/Florida_Amendment_4,Voting_Rights_Restoration_for_Felons_Initiative(2018)

This is the result of that reversal. I voted against it but it did pass.

1
rootGoose 1 point ago +1 / -0

They put it to a general, state-wide vote.

Broward and Palm Beach counties put up a big distraction during the 2018 election, making it seem like they were only going for the governor, but I have no doubt they took a short-term loss for a long-term gain.

Part of screwing up and becoming a felon is doing time to make up for the wrongs done. Hopefully teach a lesson.

Fines and fees are the same. Part of the punishment.

It’s no different than Lebrown and Jordan busted felons out of prison! Felons are dodging the punishment!

Not even trying to convince you because you're so absolutely right, and they're so absolutely wrong. There's no debate to be had, their overpaid criminals are trying to pay for more criminals to vote.

2
Strategerium 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is the real problem here, every step of the way, the Dem are paying people and extracting value. It is beyond cottage industry so that these kind of activities become people's whole careers.

1
RogueLeaderX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hang on! People with felonies can vote now? The hell?

1

Should've asked if you can still have your fines paid even if you don't vote. If they introduce any amount of quid pro quo, "we pay your fines and you support Biden for president" you would've had them on bribery.

-1
Birbistheworb -1 points ago +1 / -2

People who have served their time should have ALL of their rights restored. Voting 100%, and firearms if they are a nonviolent offender.

That being said, paying off other people's fines should be illegal and fuck lebron james and MJ.

This might be a unpopular opinion but I know multiple people who got a stupid drug charge in their teens, went to prison, and are now hardworking family men paying taxes and contributing to society. If they can't vote, they shouldn't owe taxes either. Didn't we fight a war over this?

4
deleted 4 points ago +5 / -1
2
Rooster-J-Cogburn [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you have 1 drug charge you can get some of those sealed and expunged.

2
CovefeefevoC 2 points ago +2 / -0

https://ballotpedia.org/Florida_Amendment_4,Voting_Rights_Restoration_for_Felons_Initiative(2018)

Here is the interesting shitty aspect of this - You could theoretically engineer a system to then only "pay off the fines" of only specific felons and not all felons/random. So in a way you are buying votes. by leveraging selective "fine payment"

*this presumes there is an equal distribution politically among felons.

1
Italians_Invented_2A 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then the solution is to remove the "stupid drug charge", if you think it should not have the dire consequences of a felony.
