Wow — sad development.

The best part of life is the birth of someone you love. The worst part of life is the passing of someone you love.

133
Magaman001142 133 points ago +133 / -0

Passing is very hard... But that's the beauty of life. You can only hurt so much, because things can make you feel so good...

One time, I had a full week where I felt like complete shit. Couldn't get out of bed!

By the end of the week, I had nasty bed sores. My body ached everywhere...

I was so happy to feel good once again, and realized that the most important thing in life is health, then friends and family.

If you are a billionaire without good health, then you are an unfortunate human. Feeling good is the best gift we take for granted.

Life is good.

Birth is a wonderful part....But I would say knowing that person is the best part of life. Living with them, getting to know them, going on adventures, just hanging out. Even if it is a brief moment. I found out a couple weeks ago that a mother of one of my friends passed away. I only met her once, it was a good time. I'm glad I had that one time to meet her. THAT is the best part of life in my opinion. I don't have a brother, I have younger sisters, I don't ever want to find out what it's like losing a sibling. May rest come upon all those who have passed in our lives.

5
tdwinner2020 5 points ago +5 / -0

We die, and we have to die, so that our children may have children. If we lived forever we'd never have children because otherwise we'd run out of space.

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

I say them same thing.

Death is absolutely the worst of life and birth the most joyous.

It's obvious when you think about it, but it's good to remember.

We all know they're gonna laugh at this and act like covid got him and act like it's poetic justice and trump brought it on himself.

But let's just ignore them and focus on what matters for this one.

105
FuckPlebbit 105 points ago +106 / -1

Wasn't he sick before this?

Not sure how that would be covid (unless complications arose) but they're keeping it private so we don't really know.

Spez_Isacuck 123 points ago +123 / -0

The place that he passed in was best known for treating stroke and similar catastrophic brain maladies.

59
Chalupamancer 59 points ago +61 / -2

72 is not young, things can break easily in that age bracket and sometimes unknown health problems can be very sudden.

37
Biden_is_racist 37 points ago +37 / -0

These days 72 is still pretty young. Then again, anything can happen at any age, I know teens and people in their 20s and 30s that randomly die.

23
Chalupamancer 23 points ago +23 / -0

I had a college friend who had a heart attack and he was 22. He nearly died, but luckily an AED machine was there. Yes it can happen

33
charmed1 33 points ago +33 / -0

According to Daily Mail: Robert, who took blood thinners, had suffered recent brain bleeds that began after a recent fall, according to a close friend of the family, who spoke to The New York Times.

Synsin 49 points ago +50 / -1

I’ve heard heard that if a man lives to 75 and doesn’t die of the things that normally kill a man by that age, he’ll statistically live to be 100.

71

I never met him myself as he died before I was born, but I hear he was tough as nails and "mean as a snake" as my grandmother put it. He chewed tobacco, smoked unfiltered cigarettes, ate soul food (we were all born and raised in the deep south) every day of his life except during WWI and WWII deployments. Still rode his motorcycle up until when he died. From what I recall, he went quick, almost instantly... didn't suffer. Hell of a life I say.

So, based on what I've heard/learned, I bet he would've stuck around a few years longer at least.

27
Anaconda 27 points ago +28 / -1

holy fuck. he served in WWI AND WWII??????

jesus christ. i thought only generals like macarthur and eisenhower and patton served long enough to serve in both wars.

20
ShartMaster 20 points ago +20 / -0

My grandfather fought in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. He got hit with Agent Orange. He's 96.

He's not all there mentally, but he's kicking ass for a guy his age.

12
VoteCyborgTrump2040 12 points ago +12 / -0

Sounds like a hell of a man. He chewed tobacco and smoked unfilitered cigarettes, but lived to 113 and still rode his motorcycle. Sounds like a car accident or something similar was the only thing that could have stopped the man.

25
masshole3 25 points ago +25 / -0

My great grandfather, a Merchant Marine born in 1900, smoked cigs and drank beer pretty much every day of his life.

He got hit by a car walking to the dentist. He was 92.

I've been told he had a smile on his face as he lay dying on the sidewalk.

Maybe he saw God...?

11
PinkoPatrol 11 points ago +11 / -0

Sounds like a hell of a man! Maybe so. Maybe he just saw the irony in going that way and laughed to spite fate.

Synsin 17 points ago +17 / -0

My grandmother lived to 101. There’s almost a certain tragedy to living too long. She was the last of 7 brothers and sisters, outlived my grandfather, all of her friends, even the next generation of friends started passing away. The life visibly left her when my uncle passed away. It’s cruel when a mother outlives her children.

17
PinkoPatrol 17 points ago +17 / -0

I can relate to that man, and you're 100% on the money. My grandmother watched several of her children go before her, all of her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. She fell off with dementia pretty bad toward the end, and it was heartbreaking. One day she was perfectly lucid, asking me if I wanted to tend the garden with her... then the next it was the 1960's and she had no idea who I was. The shame on her face was unbearable... like she knew she was supposed to know me, and was hurt that she didn't. I'll never forget that. Time is a cruel mistress, indeed.

1
Derplestiltzkin 1 point ago +1 / -0

This. My grandmother was 92 (almost 93) and was ready to go at the end for the same reasons.

She was sharp as a tack to the very end but her body started failing her. She was more than ready to go see my grandfather who passed a decade prior.

5
MW23232 5 points ago +5 / -0

My Uncle was a Brit and lived in England. He was elderly (late 70s?) but doing fine, caring for my aunt who did have health issues. He got into a car accident. I believe he broke his leg. I guess at the time, he was receiving dialysis? which I was unaware of, but they decided in their opinion, whatever treatment he was receiving, he was too old to bother with, and didn't treat him.

He subsequently died, when before the car accident, he was perfectly fine. We've all seen examples of death panels on here & elsewhere before, but here's another one -- that's Socialist Medicine for you. They decide if you deserve to live or not.

(Also, I am very, very sorry for our poor POTUS & the loss of his brother.)

14
FuckPlebbit 14 points ago +14 / -0

My great grandma lived to 104.

She saw Europe tear itself apart in WW1, then another 20 years again with WW2, and lived in Yugoslavia during the cold war.

Only died a few years before the Yugo civil war, but I'm not sure her heart could have handled seeing the country torn apart once again...

9
Anaconda 9 points ago +11 / -2

poor yugoslavia. destroyed by the failures of communism in the end just like all the other failed communist/socialist countries.

7
FuckPlebbit 7 points ago +7 / -0

Commies in Yugo didn't help but by all accounts, it was probably the most "mild" form of communism after the tito-stalin split.

All the stories I have from my mom of people from the iron curtain coming to yugo to get citizenship to escape from the west because they weren't allowed to do anything, and then in yugo they're just sitting there watching western movies in theaters and everyday life is similar to how it would have been in the west at the time (albeit poorer) is always interesting.

Yugo had huge cultural divisions that doomed it from the beginning, especially after WW2 where both the croats and serbs (biggest republics) fucking hated each other.

63
tufftoffee 63 points ago +63 / -0

I hope this is natural causes and not something sinister, but considering he was kept in NYC hospital I wouldn't put it past them. After all, pedes were speculating Trump may get hurt visiting his brother.

Regardless... Dear President Trump, I am sorry your brother Robert has passed away. I am fortunate to not have gone through that kind of pain yet, however with siblings of my own I can only imagine the kind of soul crushing heartbreak you may be experiencing. This coupled with the state of the World with the false "pandemic" and communism at an all time high may be making you feel you are at the brink.

Take heart my soldier Trump for you are in the hands of Almighty God and His Son, who will comfort you in the lowest of times and support you in the highest of times.

Take heart that you have an entire nation of patriots singing your praises day by day, praying for you night by night. Your brother is not exempt this night or the next.

Take heart that your brother is in peace with God and is in a happier place filled with Love, Light, Hope, and the rest of the Trump family.

No matter how hard it may get remember you have an entire army behind you, not only in battle but in spirit as well. We know the power of prayer.

Almighty God I beseech you, please raise Donald J Trump in your light and guide him. Grant him the fortitude he needs to get through this troubling times, and grant him peace in his brother's passing. Almighty Father, use your hand to guide the West's savior through the darkness and trials of the Earth toward our salvation.

27
Aquamine-Amarine 27 points ago +27 / -0

Robert is with Fred now, Trump's other brother that sadly passed from alcoholism years ago.

31
tufftoffee 31 points ago +31 / -0

If you can recall any of Trump's 2016 speeches, he REALLY loved Fred and would talk about him all the time. It's like he never died. He used his brother's death as a motivator to be straight edge.

Hopefully Trump can surpass this as well. But my God I know this has to be absolutely crushing...

They are just as poisonous as you’d think. Karma is writing a lot of names in her journal tonight.

1
ind2rep2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wrote this because CantStumpTrump started a comment chain drawing attention to the original comment made by ILikeMyBlueCar because you used the word "karma". The goal was to to provide info to lurkers who might be interested in the Christian view on karma.

The word "karma" in the western world is used inaccurately, it is used to quickly communicate a concept which is actually biblical. However, the concept of karma in it's pure meaning is not biblical; it's good that CantStumpTrump is pointing to this without condemnation/judgement. Karma assumes actions in your past lives determine your current life, and actions in your current life determines your next lives.

Buddhism and Christianity are superficially similar but fundamentally different. The key difference I would point out is the one thing which separates Christianity from the rest of the world's philosophies: we receive the power to overcome evil in the world, starting with ourselves, but not by our own power. The healing power is made available only by the grace and power of God through Jesus. All other religions, including Judaism and Catholicism which share so many similarities to Christianity, expect you in your own power to change yourself and the world. This is not possible!

Our actions do have consequences, even when saved by grace. Grace provides that we will be rewarded according to our righteousness. In contrast those under the law will receive justice for their sins. One quick example to look into is how when the law was given 3000 people lost their lives, but when grace was given 3000 people were raised to life. Massive difference!

Below are excerpts from sermon notes by Jack Hayford. The sermon is titled "Belief in Reincarnation". It can be found here for those interested.

We will face an accounting before God concerning life; what we did with the stewardship of this life; gifts we were to use; the time given to be and to become. He has given us life, so that we can realize it to the max and become benevolent servants of others. Demon spirits want to deceive us, making us believe we have more than one chance to get it right. But here is the reality, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27; Job 19:25-27)

we will face an eternity either apart from God or in His Presence. Jesus is the only way to eternal life—we must be saved by the blood of Christ (John 14:6). We are terminal beings destined for death, but we were not created for this end. Man was disobedient, which led to the entrance of sin--God’s perfection and original order became polluted. Jesus came to cancel out our sins and to bring mankind back to God’s original plan—spending our eternity with Him.

The rich man and Lazarus–This story from Luke 16:19-27 is a picture of the underworld and its two sections. When the beggar, Lazarus, died he was carried by the angels to Abraham’s Bosom—a place of peace and for those who had a covenant relationship with God. When the rich man died, he ended up in Hades where he was tormented by flames. Jesus gives everyone the opportunity to choose between doing right and doing wrong. He places within each human consciousness an awareness; an internal sensitivity that there is some kind of accountability. This passage tells us that there is no way back; no communication to be had from the underworld.

Communication with the dead–In God’s terms, there is to be no communicating with the dead and specific punishment was ordered for those who did—stoning and death (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-11). People who know how to communicate with the dead have sold something in themselves to gain power, bringing them influence and control. Some even have made blood covenants with the power of darkness to do this—however, dabbling in darkness brings destruction and taints our soul.

Romans 11:6

And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.

John 1:16

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.

2 Corinthians 5:10

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

Romans 14:10-13

So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures say, “'As surely as I live,’ says the LORD, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God." Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God. So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

Romans 14:17-19

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.

Do you believe in Christ?

8
NoahGav 8 points ago +11 / -3

Yes!

-16
CantStumpTrump -16 points ago +3 / -19

Explain to me where it talks about karma in the Bible.

Are we all not sinners, and can we not only be offered redemption by God himself through Christ?

Karma is a pagan concept of the hindus and it is strongly connected with the blasphamous idea of reincarnation.

Edit - Just realized you are not the guy I asked.

JESUSJUGS 6 points ago +8 / -2

Unrelated, but do you think God “watches out” for us? I used to not believe in God, but there are circumstances that have happened to me in the last year that made me feel as though a higher power was watching over me. For example I was in Minneapolis and left a day before Floyd. I went there for an interview but didn’t like the area: felt really uneasy there and like I needed to leave. I couldn’t explain it. Very strange feeling.

yes. i dont have the time to provide good resources for you right now. i've listed all the people who have helped me form my own world view. no particular order. whenever you have a question search for your question with their name and see what you can find each of them say on the topic.

CS Lewis. Jack Hayford. Joseph Prince. Ravi Zacharias. Jordan Peterson. Carl Jung. Victor Frankyl.

One of life's hardest challanges is seperating divine influence from human emotions and instincts. It is a personal quest for us as individuals.

I believe I have influenced heavily by God; but few will make it into God's kingdom. And likewise I believe few have this connection.

Guitarbeast26 14 points ago +16 / -2

You sound a little pretentious about your faith. Chill out

5
YourOwnGreatGrandma 5 points ago +5 / -0

Dude he’s using “karma” in the loose sense. As in “evil people will go to hell.” You can be a Christian and still believe evil people will get whats coming to them.

2
ind2rep2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

this was so much shorter and to the point than what i wrote lmfao. anyways there is a long post i wrote in this same comment chain which talks about karma if your interested.

2
USCG_Vet 2 points ago +2 / -0

They will, it's all over the Bible.

1
ILikeMyBlueCar 1 point ago +1 / -0

I’ll be honest, it’s comments like this that keep me quiet about my faith and away from “the church.”

Just feels like you are trying to Bible flex and that’s the kind of stuff that gets Jesus in the table flipping and whipping mood. There’s your Biblical example of karma aka “getting what’s coming for you”.

0
CantStumpTrump 0 points ago +1 / -1

Ill be honest, if you are quite about your faith then you dont read the Bible.

3
ILikeMyBlueCar 3 points ago +4 / -1

Short answer, yes. As I do in God.

Long answer, it’s a conversation best had with a glass of scotch.

Go to search engine, search for “Press F to pay respects.” It’s from CoD: Advanced Warfare.

Seems disrespectful to honor someone with a video game tradition. Am I missing something?

6
SkyKirasagi 6 points ago +6 / -0

It’s internet culture at this point, the text equivalent of a salute. I’m sure everyone here intends it to be genuinely respectful.

0
YourOwnGreatGrandma 0 points ago +2 / -2 (edited)

I’m sure they do. It still looks trashy. You can go on a Harambe memorial and a Trump memorial and they’re both paying tribute with “F.”

How about giving the semi-ironic “internet tradition” a rest and just paying respect to someone in a proper way that they could recognize themselves.

3
raybiker73 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's become an internet tradition as an expression of grief. It's not disrespectful in the least.

2
Staatssicherheit 2 points ago +3 / -1

Different generations have different traditions. It's not a sign of disrespect for those who grew up with those games.

I am very sad. We have been focused on nothing but deaths since January feel so depressed all the time. I’m constantly thinking about how much time we have left and what happens when we die. It makes me really sad to see Trump lose his brother.

11
tufftoffee 11 points ago +11 / -0

I was and am in a similar mindset. Been thinking about my death a lot lately considering a war or my arrest could occur at any time.

Same. Of all people, why Trump? He's going through so much...

6
Guitarbeast26 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is life. Good and evil. This happend a lot in the 20th century. Good has to rise up and defeat evil. I have been mentally preparing myself to die for my country and my faith and beliefs. God is real. He is watching over all of us. He will be our guiding light. I am ready to fight for what I believe. The left has no idea what they are asking for, many of these people are posessed by satan
