Natural wonders and national parks

Watch the left start screeching that ecological preservation efforts are racist and fueled by white supremacy

93

Uhh, they already have been doing that. Look up “how hiking and camping is racist”

73

Holy shit I thought you were joking but they actually did write about that

So revolution (2020 definition) is the term for what used to be called outdoors for the inner city?

It's the FUCKING OUTDOORS. IT'S NO ONES. Are black & hispanic people fucking retards? SJWs think every damn thing has to be explained or done for them. Article dumbest shit I've ever read.

22
AnEndgamePawn 22 points ago +22 / -0

I said this in another thread but respond to such wokeness with: "That's what white supremacists believe"

It works every time

13
tholins 13 points ago +13 / -0

The outdoors is open to everybody. But outdoor hobbies are predominantly white. Nobody is excluding other people. Makes no sense to me to complain about this.

10
Aquamine-Amarine 10 points ago +11 / -1

Other people are welcome to join, but most SJWs are too fat to leave the couch.

8
tholins 8 points ago +8 / -0

I live in the South now and know a lot of black people... hiking isn’t really their thing.

5
555333 5 points ago +5 / -0

Don't forget swimming and boating...might toss in rock climbing, and kayaking, mountain biking? I saw Kayne riding a side by side in Wyoming...well, fuck it..let's just say black folk don't want to do the stupid white cracka outdoor things. But those things are just what you do if you live in rural America. So...black folk must not live much in rural America.

6
80960KA 6 points ago +6 / -0

Vast majority of black people at least just ain't into it.

"Sheeit no I ain't doin no damn camping, you go get eaten by a bear and sheeeit I'm not goin in no fuckin woods" - heard that one IRL lol

I wonder ... Elon musk starting to drop red pills ... Trump and the space force ....

You think they are going to colonize mars so all the sane people left on earth can do just this?

8
PreciselyPaul 8 points ago +8 / -0

I've never been a big space guy.

6
CelesteD 6 points ago +6 / -0

Would you take a rocket trip to a mostly sane, conservative well run planet? I know I'm just making shit up here, but if it actually worked? Just something to think about.

2
PreciselyPaul 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was quoting Trump, heard him say it during a rally or a press conference or a speech somewhere, off the cuff he talked about the "rich guys" wanting to go to space and he commented that he himself was never a big space guy.

But also, speaking for myself, there is no planet with the luxury and biodiversity... show me a planet where I can have a tropical paradise or cultivate trees and fields and vineyards with life-giving sustenance... There ain't no luxury vacations in space... conservative planet or not, so yeah, I was also speaking for myself... I've never been a big space guy.

The comments dragging that racist article are great. Anyone who claims to be concerned about racism and equality while referring to one particular skin color as "unbearable" is an idiot.

Check out State of Fear if you haven't. Shits all over climate alarmists, and I discovered that he sourced information throughout the book shitting on global warming and climate change.

One could create conspiracy theories on the fact that he died 4 years after it came out. And it's well known for his foreword where he talks about climate alarmists. Funny enough, the book I bought doesn't have the foreword.

2
Sixty2ndAssassin 2 points ago +2 / -0

State of Fear. Eco-terrorists stage environmental disasters to promote the fight for climate change.

3
Kek_Johnson 3 points ago +3 / -0

You mean like setting forest fires and popping oil pipelines to prove that the western industrial/free market capital complex is evil and destructive?

3
CAPTAIN_TENDY_PLATE 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Sierra Club has been long one of those leftist orgs that masquerades as something their not.

Way back in my youth, when I didn't know any better, I thought they were REALLY a conservation organization and used to subscribe to their newsletter and donate to them. Because I'm an avid outdoorsman and avid conservationist (note: conservation, not preservation or eco-bullshit).

Later in life I learned just how corrupt they really are, and was disgusted with myself.

They're like any other leftist org. They play the game of donating a tiny fraction of proceeds to some cause, like the black footed ferret efforts. Then use >90% of their other income to champion marxist agendas.

If I could walk up to my 19 year old self, I'd spit in my face and say that John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt would be disappointed in me.

1
555333 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same with the Nature Conservancy. One year they took in 1.3B in donations. So I asked, why do you need 1.3B bucks? Salaries, and donor outtings. No kidding. They have a few thousand acres in Montana off the Rocky Mtn Frnt. It's closed to everyone save for large cash donors. No lie. Even their own members can't go on it. They bought it solely for big donors to go piss off in. Fuck those people.

2
CAPTAIN_TENDY_PLATE 2 points ago +2 / -0

The nature conservancy has also taken to injecting identity politics into government.

But since they are a "non-profit" they can't be held directly liable to the same rules that government entities are generally held account to.

In the last 3-5 years, they have started to reach out to government organizations to encourage female only, and LGBT+ only seminars that they host, in which they invite female or LGBT goverment employees, to further brainwash and radicalize them in subjects such as how they are being oppressed in their jobs, and how they need to rise up and take over the old system.

The best part of it is, they have worded these things just perfectly so as to avoid lawsuits. They invite "anyone who wants to attend", but end up with all female attendees, all LGBT attendees, save for one or two male or non-LGBT soyboys who also believe in their rhetoric, so they can then say, "look, we didn't discriminate".

The cherry on the cake is, they talk agency heads into spending taxpayer resources on this, so that these people get a two weeks taxpayer funded vacation to some resort, plus per diem, while neglecting their normal duties, to go learn about feminism and LGBT issues (because you know, that somehow applies to environmental issues), but since they invited the one guy out there who is a cucked soyboy, they're skirting around legal ramifications.

I know this from someone who is a friend.

11
Yucky 11 points ago +11 / -0

Literally already doing this. Look up John Muir, he's in the process of getting cancelled.

They say his talk of "preserving" the outdoors ignores the fact that natives were already there.

They are willfully ignorant to the fact that his preservation efforts were to prevent industrialization/mechanization from claiming every square inch of the country.

7
Anaconda 7 points ago +7 / -0

Republican House members are sacks of shit on this issue. Half of them voted against it because of Big Oil owning their asses.

Trump signed the Great American Outdoors Act, which would provide $900 million annually in oil and gas revenues for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which helps secure land for trails and parks.

3
DoYouBelieveInMAGA 3 points ago +3 / -0

They're cancelling Muir? What did he do "wrong"?

7
alfredbester 7 points ago +7 / -0

He's being judged for the color of his skin rather than the content of his character.

3
555333 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't forget his religious beliefs. He tossed them all around in nearly everything he wrote. If it wasn't for his religion, he would never have done any of the things he did...but cancel him they must. Religion bad.

7
Loc12 7 points ago +7 / -0

They already did. No jokes

3
covfefe-time 3 points ago +3 / -0

What was that a few years ago in California where they were saying certain types of trees are racist.

You can't make this stuff up.

3

Why it gotta be white pine?

3
Loc12 3 points ago +3 / -0

6
Anaconda 6 points ago +6 / -0

$900M oil and gas money per year on public lands will be now going to a conservation fund to help take care of these lands.

Half of the beta GOP House members voted against this. Bunch of betas, hahaha.

Trump signed the Great American Outdoors Act, which would provide $900 million annually in oil and gas revenues for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which helps secure land for trails and parks.

Yucky 60 points ago +60 / -0

For anyone curious on the details. It's up to 1.9B per year for 5 years for deferred maintenance (there is supposedly a ~$10-12B maintenance backlog). Then about 900M per year forever. That second part is funding that already is spent each year, but like so many lame things, needs to be continually re-authorized. This makes it permanent.

People have wanted Congress to do this for ages. Trump pushed their lazy asses to get it done.

Full text here:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/1957/text

Enjoy.

I still remember retards screeching about how Trump is going to sell off all the federal land and parks to private corporations and that all the national parks are doomed.

Does this increase the protection of smaller important areas and reduce government control of most of the western US, much of which is scrub farm, where the sale of the land could yield a gold rush into the west?

2
Tubal 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly. Clinton did this 20 years ago and everyone in my state hated it. What's the difference?

2
IntergalacticWalrus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can you explain what this all means?

5
Tubal 5 points ago +5 / -0

I don't know what Trump's bill does, but when Clinton did this in 1996, he created the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument which basically turned 1.7 million acres of BLM land into a "national monument" so that no commerce or mining or drilling or anything could be done to it.

Naturally this pissed off a lot of Utahn's, because Clinton killed a whole lot of local jobs by making all that land unworkable.

1
JOINTHEANP 1 point ago +2 / -1

I have to say I support that. I live out here in rural colorado, and my beautiful backyard as of 1 month ago has a oil rig and roads going through it. Yeah there is less jobs, but we need to conserve the wests land.

I hope forest restoration becomes a part of the administration’s national park/forest plans. I remember Trump making a big deal of all the dead and burned down forests in California’s federal property, and so far, barely anything’s been done about that.

5
JOINTHEANP 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah. One part many people forget is part of forest restoration is intelligent logging and fire mitigation. I live in southwest colorado, and all the forest around here are 50% dead trees which still have good wood. Its ugly and extremely dangerous with wildfires.

2
ajr1218 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly. Either cull the dead trees and dry debris or let wildfires consume them... as well as everything else.

At least the Park Service finally got the hint of how important normal wildfires are in a healthy ecosystem and are starting to do controlled burns instead of quashing all wildfires ASAP and letting the dry fuel accumulate. It doesn’t do much for the areas already devastated, however.
