AMERICA

FIRST

How the fuck is it still legal to give government IT jobs to non-citizens anyway? This should have been addressed after the shitshow with the Awan brothers, at the absolute latest.

Couldn't agree more! I am the Anti-Snowden.

I was doing some data related work at a laboratory which predominantly does DOD projects. There was a large pool of foreign IT workers on one floor of the building. As a contractor I had a cube near them. I was involved in intel while serving in the U.S. Military and knew some words from various languages, and my situational awareness stays pretty high. Some of the workers set off alarms for me, just because they were so nervous and shifty eyed. I overheard conversations where they were having conversations about military equipment and technologies that had nothing to do with software projects. I asked a Pakistani worker if I could use his system to test something. I found that he had open access to some very sensitive information such as biotech research and parts breakdowns for SEAL delivery vehicles and tanks. There was also a lot of info that could be damaging to the U.S. Government when viewed through liberal eyes. I put a USB drive in his system and loaded a harmless text file and took it home with me, to show that there were no opsec controls. I went to my company 'handler' and told her about the security breech.

The problem with these labs is that they are populated by academics.. most of the left leaning. They sniff at operational security because they don't think we have enemies, and they see DOD projects as necessary money makers that they have to rush through so they can do "real work" with environmental technologies. Obviously, this isn't the leadership, but a lot of the scientists and lab assistants.

So my 'handler' tells me the security breech isn't a big deal. That it's not kind to be suspicious of foreign workers, and to keep my mouth shut and take care of my data project if I want to get more contracts with the lab. I went over her head to the director of security.. I was told the same thing. I went to my local FBI field office expecting to induce a panic there.. they didn't really understand the importance of what I was telling them and blew me off. I went back the next day and filed another report.. same. On the third day of going to the FBI I insisted that they get me on the phone with an FBI tech person. That person understood.

I don't know what action they took or if the situation was resolved. The lab discontinued my contract and later the FBI wouldn't give me any information on the case. My gut tells me that there was a security audit that shook it up a bit, but they swept it under the rug because it's an important DOD lab.

(Bonus: I was there when the left tried to boycott Chik-Fil-A. I sat in a very long drivethrough line and bought 20 chicken sandwiches. I handed them out at the lab and told them 'happy Chik-Fil-A day'. Most of them didn't watch the news of course and didn't know what was going on. They were very happy about free chicken sandwiches, but not happy with me after they found out what was going on days later hahah.)

Dude, thank you for what you did. That's an amazing story, although not at all surprising to me. It's no wonder so many foreigners think of America like a "global" country, like they all have a right to a piece of it. Our standards have been so lax for so long that foreigners arrogantly think they deserve something from us.

20
wumao 20 points ago +20 / -0

Holy crap... this is very concerning...Government employees are lazy, and a lot of times they would rather not deal with the headache of an insider threat. Although I think you will find that as much in the private sector too. Some people jut would rather deal with their own shit, keep their head down, and scoff it off.. unless of course its something that attacks their politics.

I guarantee that if those employees were Trump supporters, your peers would pretend to care a lot more.

So unfortunate. All those classes your coworkers had to attend, all the training on this topic.. in one ear out the other. Pathetic.

I thought so too. I should add that this happened during the Obama administration (when The Left thought the world was being reshaped in their image). I can't say if it has become any better because I've been doing work for a non-DOD company for a while now. My son is active duty in a 'relevant field' and he says everyone is getting much more serious about OPSEC.. which gives me hope. Let's hope that it extends past the military and OGAs into the labs. Go 45!

3

I believe you. Most of my career has been with the feds and I started in intel in the military. I was shocked when I found out my ex was active duty working in logistics and was not a us citizen. This is under Clinton. They have infiltrated everything and those of us who know the deal shouldn’t be dissuaded by controlled opp accusations.

-8
Smilodoner -8 points ago +1 / -9

I think you're lying. This sounds like one of those really convenient 4chan stories that is never true.

5
StrongHarm 5 points ago +6 / -1

I can tell you this though; I'm a disabled vet and a Christian who takes my responsibilities to my country, and my personal honor, very seriously. It would take a vile person to lie about something like this. It seems that you're calling me a vile person. If that's the case, the feeling becomes mutual. /end

-8
Smilodoner -8 points ago +1 / -9

You can't give me specific information yet you gave pretty specific information in your write up. I too am a veteran, a Christian and I have worked in a very similar circumstance as you described. That's why it sounds so off.

What's also discouraging are the number of Indian tech recruitment companies that are contracted with state and federal governments. I get these calls all the time and it's so obvious that they're overseas because they always use American phone numbers (mainly New Jersey) as a relay.

6
residue69 6 points ago +6 / -0

Because Indian outsourcing firms lobby the gov't and they get special consideration for contracts because they are set up as minority owned disadvantaged businesses.

I worked for one briefly and they were constantly putting some H1Bs name on my resume and trying to replace me with them. Fortunately the state I was in restricted the feds ability to hire foreign workers on that campus.

5
Bax101 5 points ago +5 / -0

How? Come on. We are taken over by foreign countries because we have been sold out for 30 years or more. This is nothing shocking. What's shocking is these people are taking orders from baby eatting demons that want to kill us all because they believe we are human scum to them.

5

They sign contracts with Accenture, McKinsey and others to manage staffing. Those IT staffing companies then look for low cost talent to maximize revenue.

1
RealRedneck 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm the CTO of my company. We're a relatively small organization. We recently hired a software development company. Their office is 30 minutes away. Sometimes that's too far! I don't understand how an organization can efficiently operate when their IT staff is half a world away.

3

2

2
HungNavySeal300Kills 2 points ago +2 / -0

I work for a F50, they've outsourced almost everything and are just counting the dollars while everything crashes internally slowly.

IT guys keep getting fired for working other jobs during their work hours. Guys on-call go on "lunch" as soon as they're asked to do something, then come back several hours later or simply ignore if it's close to the end of their shift.

Guys literally blow off email responses and just copypaste what they already said right back to the requester, then close case as Solved.

This global tech company's supply chain is mostly supervised by two american guys who are only kept in place and quiet because they've accrued generous stock options and tenure.

Stuff that's complicated gets lost in the noise for months or even years at a time because no one wants to fix it. Just a complete lack of pride. All we really have is market share and IP and China has thoroughly stolen the latter and is claiming the former.

16

This is our largest weakness as a nation.

The power grid is ridiculously under-defended and a few choice attacks would cripple the country. These attacks don't need to be with munitions, they can be done by sabotaging the software on which they run.

6
wumao 6 points ago +6 / -0

Doesn't need to be government controlled, only separately operated from other states. In other words, privately operated, but separate from the rest of the states. I don't want Nevada to be shit out of luck if California's powerplants decide to go haywire. Remember the 2003 blackout https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_Blackout_of_2003

3

Just remember, folks: All workers here on an H-1B visa are either here to learn your craft and take it home to their country, or are your direct replacement. They deserve no respect. In fact, we should no longer allow H-1B visas. They abused their privilege of coming to this great country only to take our wealth, spit on our values, and infect our citizens with their radical ideologies.

10

I remember I did an internship for this company who normally hires foreign workers for that internship. I got $13/hour, nothing more. Later on I found out that that company gave free housing, free utilities, healthcare coverage, and a ton of other things to the foreign worker who I replaced and I was livid. How the hell was a foreigner essentially receiving much much more than I was as an American citizen? This shit has to stop.

7
cyberspace_cowboy 7 points ago +7 / -0

I member like 3 years ago I was interviewing for positions (infosec auditing). One job in-particular was local, but the interview was remote (via zoom) - low paying but I wanted it as a it seemed like an entry-level infosec position (was trying to move from sysadmin to infosec)...at least the pay seemed like is HAD to be entry-level.

The interviewer was Indian, spoke very broken English and was in an unusual room. I soon realized he was literally in India and I had to be interviewing with an H1B mill I've always heard about. So I was interviewing for a local job 10 miles away (in the US and US owned company) while the interviewer was outsourced to India lol. Most shocking part (not) was they hired someone else because I didn't have enough exp. I honestly couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

Ended up getting my dream job like 3 months later (US owned & no h1BS). Since then I couldn't fathom how what they were doing was legal in this country. Totally gypping the American worker.

South Carolina construction industry is flooded with illegals. I could find at least a thousand a day, and that's being conservative. It's insane. The builders and state officials all know it. So while others were locked down, illegals were working making money.

8
hamdoguhoh 8 points ago +8 / -0

I mostly have experience with Brazilians and Mexicans. Honestly they're mostly pretty damn nice people. But they're breaking the law and they shouldn't be here. And they're hurting the economy. And more than a few bad apples have to be among them. The builders know all of this and don't care. Check out their stock prices, they're doing great.

These guys were literally kicking Americans to the curb and then taking the money for themselves. This is nothing less than traitorous behavior.

6
dykstra89 6 points ago +6 / -0

if you're on a federal board and you're not putting american workers first, you're gonna hear two very simple words, 'you're fired'

1
Grond999 1 point ago +1 / -0

"your cellmate" would be even better. Treason should have real price.

6
Iamabadhuman 6 points ago +6 / -0

This type of stuff should be NATIONAL news.... Not whether he had 1 or 2 scoops of ice cream.

5
DicerningSword 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is why they fear him.. The Dems are Terrified not of Trump so much but the threat of reform he represents.. What if the demcrat party where to have a reform canadite like Trump come in and take over their party? This is what they fear most, not Trump but someone like Trump comming in and cleaning house calling out the corruption..

1
OhLollyLollyPop 1 point ago +1 / -0

The Dem on the Street should be applauding this!

5
Keetoowah 5 points ago +5 / -0

Love it

5
HillarysBeef 5 points ago +5 / -0

They say all TVa employees are us citizens, and all tech workers are legally allowed to work in us. What you can take from that is they are hiring h1b contractors, is my guess.

5
spaceghost17 5 points ago +5 / -0

I used to work for one of the biggest H1B visa providers in America. My old boss was making less than my co-worker because these people get anyone to fill the roles regardless. They have suppressed our wages and benefits by importing these people just like illegal immigrants in other sectors.

How the fuck does anyone in Government earn 8 million a year?

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
5
Smurfection 5 points ago +5 / -0

Jeff Lyash is a flat out con artist and everyone around him let him get away with it. Washington Examiner says that he wasn't "for or against coal" but he was the main person hyping the dangers of coal ash and even wanted to spend billions, with a b, on cleaning it up all while making 8 million a year for basically being a middle aged white male Greta Thunberg.

5
litsy 5 points ago +5 / -0

There are only a handful of circumstances where you should hire a foreigner... especially if you're a government.

A good example would be if you need someone who knows a language that's rare in your country.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, as a power company, wouldn't qualify as an area needing to hire a lot of foreigners. They just don't.

5
Brownshoeblues 5 points ago +5 / -0

Public sector worker makes 8 million a year? WTF.

5
TrumpOrTreason 5 points ago +5 / -0

God Bless Trump!

4
BaronFalcon 4 points ago +4 / -0

How does the CEO of a government owned power company get 8 million/yr? Meanwhile he shut down 2 coal plants for "economic reasons". Yea, they needed the money to pay you, you fat greedy sociopath.

"Trump on Monday also again slammed TVA CEO Jeff Lyash for being “ridiculously overpaid” with a salary of $8 million per year. He said any new CEO of the power company should be paid no more than $500,000 a year, “which is still a significant amount more than the president of the United States.”

Yes!!

We need the "You're fired!" flair back.

3

Wait we have authority over the Federal Reserve?

3
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

Well, Trump sort of pulled it into the Treasury and then it's going to disappear and take its bogus "debt" with it.

2
Fuhqreddit 2 points ago +3 / -1

bullshit, They would assassinate him the moment he made a move on ending the fed. If the fed ends, they lose their ability to fund the entire operation against the U.S. I simply cant believe it.

America for Americans

The ruling elites love their cheap labor and resulting obscene profits.

Clearly the Democrats no longer support people that work

3

3

more MORE thats the fucking swamp

3
Zerohunt 3 points ago +3 / -0

Those two board members were a black eye to the TVA. They need to apologize to the citizens of Alabama and the US about taking their jobs away.

3

That is my President. AMERICA FIRST.

3

3
RocketSprocket 3 points ago +3 / -0

The swamp has been around a long time.

"Reagan was later fired by General Electric in 1962 in response to his publicly referring to the TVA (TVA being a major customer for GE turbines) as one of the problems of "big government"

3
Vstablegenius45 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nice this is what i want to see but with much higher numbers.

Gotta drive those commie anti Americans out of every office and job.

3
steve_patel 3 points ago +4 / -1

Im an indian guy born in the US studying CS. I hope to go do software engineering at hedge funds and trading firms for 10-15 years before trying to get a job at the NSA. Its true that indian and asian folks whether born here or abroad are more likely to study stem, but its a big concern that you have people with no incentive to support the US, doing tech work for the government

5
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 5 points ago +6 / -1

Yes--Remember the Dems in Congress and their completely unverified "IT" team, Awan from Pakistan who was given access to all the info in the Dems' systems and devices? What could go wrong?

1
steve_patel 1 point ago +3 / -2

I think part of the problem is, is finding competent STEM folks born in america willing to work for the government since theyll get less pay than industry. Its pretty standard that if you study CS in the US and you're skilled. After 5-6 years you can earn 6 figures. 200k+ if youre at big tech or finance companies. So settling for less at a government job is something only patriots or off shore would do

3
Smilodoner 3 points ago +4 / -1

This is absolute nonsense.

3
Mrs_Fonebone [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

True; and they would never get the incentives that H1-Bs get--which was why Trump was determined to cut those to level the playing field.

1
Luvmyhub75 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sorry but foreign educated immigrants who don’t understand American culture are not superior to American worlers. However, I wish you luck in your future as we need more patriots of all stripes in our system. Good luck
