Take vitamin C and D and Zinc. That’s what the doctors who are getting banned are saying in unison. Also watch your diet, and stay hydrated.

nothingberg 14 points ago +14 / -0

This is evidence-based. Elderberry contains quercetin, isoquercetin and rutin, which act as zinc ionophores (carry zinc into cells) We know this happens observationally and experimentally because this elderberry + zinc combo cuts influenza and cold infection by several days

3
ex_soviet_american 3 points ago +4 / -1

Definitely NOT elderberry, it's an immunobooster, not an immunoregulator. Covid is heavy on exploiting the immune system for damage.

N-Acetyl Cysteine is the most efficient thing you can take IMO. I recommend it to everyone for this - 1200-2400mg per day when you're sick.

7
nothingberg 7 points ago +7 / -0

No, elderberry is an immunomodulator meaning it strengthens the immune system while also keeping down the cytokine storm. The activity here is antiviral when combined with zinc, because it acts as a zinc ionophore and carries it into the cells

Your recommendation of NAC is spot on. We should be taking it with selenium, tryptophan and glutamine in order to satisfy the requremnets for manufacture of glutathione, which is a powerful immune molecule the system uses to destroy antigens

Also NAC is very powerful medicine for the pulmonary system and sinuses

This is nutritional advice, not medical advice, and I'm authorized to give nutritional advice, as are everyone here

1
ShitComment 1 point ago +1 / -0

Been randomly taking gluthione daily. Long term use lowers your zinc, but the yellow stack should offset that, plus the gluthione supplement has c and zinc too. Also, the powder version creates sulfur in the manufacturing process and can be a little tough to get used to. Not bad after a while. As one gets older the less your body produces.

Started w/ vit IV drip therapy, not a cheap habit but amazing results if athletic.

As a bonus, it's magic for hangovers.

1
ex_soviet_american 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have an autoimmune issue similar to Sjorgens, which inflames my eyes, and I noticed what happens when I take elderberry vs. Astaxanthin, Vitamin D or NAC (all immunoregulators).

Astaxanthin has an immediate effect on reducing eye redness and joint soreness. Vitamin D has a non-immediate, milder, long-term effect doing something similar. NAC does nothing like that, but during flu season it reduced my usual week-long sickness to 3 days, and I regularly use it to shut down cold- and flu-like sickness in the beginning.

Elderberry helps when I am getting sick with a cold, but it also inflames my eyes much more than they would normally be. It feels like it just accelerates the immune response. This is how I decided that elderberry is an immune booster rather than regulator.

Yep. Public restrooms *shudder* and what goes on in them. Worst I ever saw was westbound NY thruway in Batavia -- every toilet full of shit. Kicked the doors and checked most of them. Disgusting.

8
VoxVulgaris 8 points ago +8 / -0

Whatcha gotta do is the old wash your hands, dry them with a paper towel and open the door using the same paper towel trick.

Of course, this doesn't work if they have blow dryers.

In that case, you use your AK-47 to blast your way out.

Same. I don't get anywhere near as sick

Also, I stopped all drinking of alcohol. I'm sure that has greatly helped too.

But taking a megadose of vitamin D, for a couple weeks, and then having a normal maintenance dose was a big deal for me. It fixed many problems. I think many people are probalby vitamin D deficient, so you have to fix that.

Also magnesium and many of the trace minerals are often underlooked,

They are horrible to try to get back into your body, but I found adding a drop of concentrace (utah minerals) to a 32 oz bottle that I drink 2 of a day should do it for the trace stuff. The idea of drinking a tablespoon of that is horrid...like total nightmare

Vegans4Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah I think everyone is vit. D deficient too. I take a big dose also, 5,000 IU everyday. I used to have skin problems but they went away with the vitamin D and when I stop taking it my skin issues come back. Also I think most women are probably low on iron because no one eats leafy greens anymore. I think a lot of people would be surprised at what ailments would be fixed simply by taking vitamins.

11
TRUMP4USA 11 points ago +13 / -2

Quercetin (over the counter HCQ Substitute) = 2 capsules 2x daily

Vitamin D = 10,000 IU/day

Vitamin C = 2,000 mg/day

Vitamin A = 10,000 IU/day

Zinc = 30-60 mg/day

N-Acetyl Cysteine = 900 mg 3x daily

Tylenol for fever

Pulmacort (prescription) (aka budesonide) inhaler for the lung tightness.

17
ex_soviet_american 17 points ago +17 / -0

Finally someone else mentions NAC. NAC is the key to all this, the others are not enough to do short-term effects. Vitamin D is very good long-term preventative, Vitamin C is questionable, as is Vitamin A.

NAC produces glutathione and regulates cytokine storm. It reduces regular flu intensity by 75%. Highly underrated.

I had it in June, I'm an asthmatic and this is what my Dr sent me when i told them I had it.

Thus far, the virus in younger patients, resembles a bad influenza. However, asthmatic patients are at slightly higher risk for complications.

Quarantine x 14 days (at least). Hydrate, take tylenol for headache and fever. Take your asthma medications to keep airways open.

Some supportive agents have been suggested including vitamin c 500mg twice a day, vitamin D 1000iu daily, zinc.

I would, if you are able, obtain a pulse oximeter to monitor your oxygen levels (can find at local pharmacies and on amazon). If your oxygen falls below 91%, you will need to call our office. If in 80s, you should go to hospital.

Take Quercetin. 500mg every day with 30 mg of zinc every day. If you can only find a higher dose of zinc, take it every other day. That will stop the virus replication and also help with oxidative stress (how the virus kills people). Get well pede.

Yes, but that's more complicated to explain to make sure he/she don't over do it (especially if there's no copper in the supplements that he/she buys). The advice I gave is the safest course for a person of unknown health and comorbidities and medications. I generally stick to that, to ensure that my advice doesn't cause harm. Making sure you aren't low in zinc is more important in this case (per Dr. Seheult. He specifically said that, but I can't find the exact video because he has so many. He only takes 50 mg per day when he feels he's been highly exposed). The most important part is the ionophore (quercetin), not the high dose of zinc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM2A2xNLWR4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7F1cnWup9M&t=125s

5
Work2gethrBiglyOrDie 5 points ago +5 / -0

Sounds good thanks. I've also heard you can take vitamin C every 2 hours and at least 5,000 IU of D once a day (sublingual if old etc).edit, and most Americans are magnesium deficient so I wonder how that effects immunity (and which type is easy to find and won't make you shit).

6
alex_p_keaton_III 6 points ago +6 / -0

Magnesium deficiency does effect the immune system.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3075245/#:~:text=Mg%20deficiency%20in%20rodents%20impairs%20IgG%20synthesis%20and,by%20genetic%20control%20of%20blood%20cell%20Mg%20concentration.

Any time you can get your nutrients directly from food you're better off. I don't know what Magnesium supplements would be best though.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/10-foods-high-in-magnesium

I suppose it depends on the dosage of vit. c as to how often you can take it. I generally stick to the dosing recommendations when taken orally for any supplement to ensure I don't do more harm than good. Short term you'd probably be OK, but I tend to be cautious about it.

https://www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/news/20190408/for-one-man-too-much-vitamin-d-was-disastrous

Here's an interesting article about high dose vitamin c (intravenously given) and cancer. Warning -it's long.

https://www.cancer.gov/research/key-initiatives/ras/ras-central/blog/2020/yun-cantley-vitamin-c

*I encourage everyone to do his own research and consult his doctor to ensure he protects his health. In this instance, time is more crucial than research IMO.

1
nothingberg 1 point ago +1 / -0

Good research. Magnesium is one of those things that's hard to get into your body without issues. Nausea (like zinc), or vertigo, or stomach issue, or in the case of through the skin, severe itching ('magnesium oil')

Too much zinc impairs immune function ...

Reduces t-cell function and causes copper insufficiency

3
Work2gethrBiglyOrDie 3 points ago +3 / -0

How quickly does that happen or is it over weeks of use? How much is too much, check the successful studies and dr info? Sugar and fruit juice etc can weaken the immune system bigly for hours.

2
nothingberg 2 points ago +2 / -0

50 mg a day is too much

If your'e taking it every day, skip one day a week and take copper and iron on that day; or have different days to take different minerals. That's what I do, so they don't step on each other in terms of absorption; and also it's good to keep your body in a state of confusion, so that you don't induce feedback inhibition

2

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating when you have to wait for everyone else to catch up. I end up yelling at the TV a lot. Especially regarding HCQ. The fact that the "experts" and "media" are actively trying to demonize HCQ is fury inducing. So many people died unnecessarily because of that. And so many more will. The "experts" and "media" should be held accountable. I won't hold my breath.

11
istrucktheboard 11 points ago +11 / -0

It's bananas. I used to take HQC daily for weeks as a child when I visited my grandparents in Kenya every Christmas holidays. Never even had an upset stomach.

A coworker I used to work with took and still takes it daily for lupus.

4

Modern Tonic has minimal quinine in it ... so you’d have to drink a decent amount ... better get sugar free or diet

3
bovineblitz 3 points ago +4 / -1

Well chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are quinine derivatives, they all work the same way as antivirals. Oral doses of quinine are 300-600 mg, since you've done some reading about tonic water you'll probably have a better idea than me on how much is actually in a typical glass.

Thursday night I became strangely tired/exhausted. Friday I couldn't get outta bed, had a throbbing headache, didn't want to eat anything at all. Then it dawned on me that it wasn't just too much yard work, so I took my temp. I was 100 degrees. Yikes! Went back to bed, had a really miserable night. I'm still hovering at 100, but managed to finish some plumbing that was really pressing. About noon my wife started looking bad. I asked what was up. She has a 100 degree fever now. If this is all it is, I'll be very happy. We're both in high risk groups. I already asked my doc if I get Covid if she'll let me have hydroxychloroquine. She said no. Man - I gotta find a clinic or something to get me some of those pills.

I just may try that! The other lady doctor in a separate video said that HCQ is over-the-counter in a lot of countries. What a bunch of crap is going on here. I used to think that complaints about the FDA being in the pockets of big pharma were crazy. Not anymore. In the last 10 years they've done underhanded stuff that verges on criminal. The FDA banned a newly developed medicine about 10 years ago, a pain killer, that had NO side effects, did6make you high, wasn't addictive, and that test subjects hailed as the best pain reliever ever. The FDA banned it because "it was too effective". I'm sure that big pharmaceutical companies making opiates had nothing to do with that decision.

10

You may want to try https://speakwithanmd.com/. I read on twitter they prescribe the zelenko protocol. Once you book your consultation, you will have a video chat or phone call with a doctor within 48 hours. Then your prescriptions can be delivered to you on the same day.

You can get HCQ here:

https://corsination.com/covid-19/

You have a $60 phone consultation with a doctor who, through this website link, agrees that HCQ is a viable treatment. They will screen you to make sure you need it and don't have the issues with heartbeat, etc. Then the HCQ and azithromycin will be fedexed to you from a pharmacy in a state that is not prohibiting it. It's not super expensive. You can have your HCQ in 2–3 days. You can get it as a preventative treatment. Quick quick.

Quercetin also works as an antihistamine, like a natural Benedryl. I was reading about how it works with pets with food allergies because it stops the itching skin. (my cat has that.)

I'm convinced I had it back in Feburary. Even more so now that you share your symptoms. I don't get headaches, I don't get tired, I don't get fever, but had all 3 for a few days. It was a low fever like that. I had a cough in the morning that would go away really quick but also quit smoking a year and some change before so I had been waiting for the hack it out phase and thought that might be it. That lasted almost a month. But it was only in the morning when I got up and then it was gone till the next morning then gone again.

8
Pissedoffamerican 8 points ago +8 / -0

Agreed!! My wife & I are convinced we had it in late January!! I got horrible body aches, a sore throat, and a little chest congestion. No fever though. I gave it to my wife & she had super bad chest congestion, sore throat, & bad body aches. No fever. Strange but mine lasted about 4 days & my wife about a week. A bunch of people at my work all got sick around the same time and they're convinced they had it too!! Fucking Kung-Flu.

7
johnrambo 7 points ago +7 / -0

Me and the neighbor. We went to a mardi gras parade and both came back with tit the following week. I work in people's houses. I go in, I fix shit, I leave and go to the next. I have and will never put on a mask except I will use a veil because I think there's something deeper going on when I go to the store. And I don't want to fight anyone, last guy I got in a fight with almost died. That was 20 years ago though. But for months I have been going in peoples homes and nothinig. I haven't got sick, wife hadn't, kid haven't. If it weren't for the news I wouldn't know there was a "WEALLGONNADIE flu" out there.

3
TRUMP4USA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Quercetin (over the counter supplement) must be taken with Zinc before it will be absorbed in the cells (just like HCQ). After I couldn't get a prescription for HCQ I read up and found that Quercetin is a good substitute. Good luck

I saved this from a FB post by a retired nurse:

CORONA Common Sense Since they are calling on Respiratory therapist to help fight the Corona virus, and I am a retired one, too old to work in a hospital setting. I'm gonna share some common sense wisdom with those that have the virus and trying to stay home. If my advice is followed as given you will improve your chances of not ending up in the hospital on a ventilator. This applies to the otherwise generally healthy population, so use discretion.

  1. Only high temperatures kill a virus, so let your fever run high. Tylenol, Advil. Motrin, Ibuprofen etc. will bring your fever down allowing the virus to live longer. They are saying that ibuprophen, advil etc will actually exacerbate the virus. Use common sense and don't let fever go over 103 or 104 if you got the guts. If it gets higher than that take your tylenol, not ibuprophen or advil to keep it regulated. It helps to keep house warm and cover up with blankets so body does not have to work so hard to generate the heat. It usually takes about 3 days of this to break the fever.

  2. The body is going to dehydrate with the elevated temperature so you must rehydrate yourself regulaly, whether you like it or not. Gatorade with real sugar, or pedialyte with real sugar for kids, works well. Why the sugar? Sugar will give your body back the energy it is using up to create the fever. The electrolytes and fluid you are losing will also be replenished by the Gatorade. If you don't do this and end up in the hospital they will start an IV and give you D5W (sugar water) and Normal Saline to replenish electrolytes. Gatorade is much cheaper, pain free, and comes in an assortment of flavors

  3. You must keep your lungs moist. Best done by taking long steamy showers on a regular basis, if your wheezing or congested use a real minty toothpaste and brush your teeth while taking the steamy shower and deep breath through your mouth. This will provide some bronchial dialation and help loosen the phlegm. Force your self to cough into a wet wash cloth pressed firmly over your mouth and nose, which will cause greater pressure in your lungs forcing them to expand more and break loose more of the congestion.

  4. Eat healthy and regularly. Gotta keep your strength up.

  5. Once the fever breaks, start moving around to get the body back in shape and blood circulating.

  6. Deep breath on a regular basis, even when it hurts. If you don't it becomes easy to develope pneumonia. Pursed lip breathing really helps. That's breathing in deep and slow then exhaling through tight lips as if your blowing out a candle, blow until you have completely emptied your lungs and you will be able to breath in an even deeper breath. This helps keep lungs expanded as well as increase your oxygen level.

  7. Remember that every medication you take is merely relieving the symptoms, not making you well.

  8. If your still dying go to ER.

I've been doing these things for myself and my family for over 40 years and kept them out of the hospital, all are healthy and still living today. Thank you all for sharing. We gotta help one another.

There's false-positives left and right these days. And in past years I've caught colds (or flu or some other crap) with pretty much the same symptoms as yours. So I'm not sure it's CV you've got.

(I've seen a few other testimonies from other folks on this web site, and the symptoms seem different for everybody)

Hmmm.... Are you sure you tested positive or could it be just a Cold?

I know this guy that went down to the Clinic a few weeks ago to 'Signup' and get tested right... But as he was standing in line he just went home because the line was to long and he got tried of waiting.

But later that day the Clinic called and told him he tested Positive

My advice for you is to have a family member go to to IKEA and get you some Linginberry jam...

I don't think Linginberry helps with Covid but it does make meatballs taste amazing, which should cheer you up some while your body works through the virus. Other than that, sorry you only have a 99.4% chance of survival. Also remember to take a daily multivitamin. Again, probably won't help with Covid but it's just a good idea to keep generally healthy.

Other than that, get healthy soon!

MisterKpak 2 points ago +2 / -0

Interesting. I hope you feel better! I'm wondering, Friday I started feeling kinda headachey and light chills. I sanitized the shit out of where I was at work and went home. Friday night I had pretty good chills, but I didn't put up a fever. I may have later in the night, Idk. Yesterday I was lazy, a little chilly, and had a temp just under 100 for a bit, but that went away by yesterday evening. Last night I felt maybe 80%, and this morning I feel fine. Should I be concerned?

Trying to be exceptionally careful, because me testing positive will shut down something on the order of 30 businesses

1
magapotus [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I had my symptoms for 2 weeks before I began to recover: fatigue, anosmia/ageusia, diarrhoea and chest pains. No headache or cough to speak of.

The supplement advice already given in this thread is accurate imo.

Get hold of an oximeter (Cheap on eBay) to check your blood oxygen levels (Sp02) and keep an eye on that. If it falls too low (Under 95%) go back to see your treating doctor.

2
GulagCheerSquad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Try to get a pulse ox monitor if you can. If your pulse ox starts dropping, go to ER. I had the virus too, although it was just like a sinus infection for me. I was able to take Plaquenil and zinc though. My Dad and sister had it too, much worse than I. We are all back to normal now. Hang in there Pede, just think of the antibody you are developing.

2
GulagCheerSquad 2 points ago +2 / -0

I asked my doctor - I was on plaquenil for 30 years for lupus in the past so he was willing to give it to me. I then had to convince him to give me the zinc as well. He said OK but said he didn’t know if it will do anything. The crazy thing was that BlueCross refused to pay for my plaquenil even though I had a prescription and the doc even called the pharmacy with the ICD code. I’ve never seen anything so bizarre as what’s happened with plaquenil. You could ask your doc for the HCQ and zinc and see what they say.
