It's the corruption of the uniparty. They all have a hand in corruption and equally profit from it. Reps play the role of fake opposition and get paid, Dems move the country towards globalist socialism and get paid.

It's so corrupt at so many different levels it needs to be cleaned out top to bottom and a tribunal needs to investigate the finances of every politician and high ranking gov managers.

Long over due, I'm sick of these tech barons running amok and censoring conservatives. Please Mr. President just do it!

3
braveContrarian 3 points ago +3 / -0

i was sick of their power and lack of regulation before that even became obvious.

look at the tech market and aside from advancements that were bound to happen anyway, its become far more anticonsumer over the years, and more about controlling people in the ignorant mass market who were not the nerds and geeks that built the backbone of the internet and personal computing.

Instead of putting power in the hands of the people, as was originally intended, everything becomes a monopolized centralized service which they control. moving backwards back into the age of mainframes (the cloud) and terminals (dumb limited devices).

political control is only part of this -- it also goes down to monetization and how they decide to profit off of the consumer. in the past, we had software we can STILL USE TODAY in emulators.

in the future, if they have it their way, everything will be a service with an expiration date to keep you paying more for less. effectively charging for variables and preventing you -- the user -- from running easy-to-write basic servers to self-run services at home.

the cell phone crowd and modern user flock to discord, but some of us know its backbone is still IRC, and that IRC has freedom. freedom to run your own server/network and not be locked into the one service. we know it would be trivial to update the old model with new features without the control, but few want to do it because less profits.

freedom for someone else to compete if they want to do it differently.

makes it hard to monetize things that have no value in an economy with FREEDOM. and the business model of modern tech is all about control.

Did you miss Matthew 6:5-6?

29
Barthaneous 29 points ago +29 / -0

You're not using that verse right.. That's for people who pray in some flamboyant and repeatingly way. I'm not praying outworldy to be seen by men. I want them to see the prayer so they pray the same.
There would be no difference if I prayed this in my home with my family or the church for the Lord to give what Trump needs to succeed and for the enemies of God and this nation to fall and fall hard.

I do pray alone in home. In my room in my shower and in my closet. But this is a group chat and I'll pray for the president openly without remorse or false judgement

-12
SchlomoSteingold -12 points ago +1 / -13

Are you doing it with the door shut? Because that's what the verse says.

This verse is often used by liberals disingenuously, but not incorrectly in this guys case.

-18
diogenesLamp -18 points ago +2 / -20

I'm not praying outworldy to be seen by men.

Then how was I able to read it?

14
NotJudging 14 points ago +14 / -0

He means he wasn't doing it for other people to think he's "high and mighty." It's fine to pray in public if your heart is in the right place is what I believe he's getting at.

-21
diogenesLamp -21 points ago +2 / -23

With a prayer that florid?

I’d buy it if it were a simple “may God bless and keep them”, but not this.

11
Echo5 11 points ago +12 / -1

Are we gatekeeping praying now by misinterpreting Bible verses?

16
Barthaneous 16 points ago +16 / -0

He's showing himself to be as the Pharisees. If my prayer was with ill intent or disgraceful or prayed for something carnal then ok. But he's literally judging it as bad because it's online and people can see it.

Then by his own logic all prayer made in groups and in public are harmful or wrong.
When in fact that's not what the verse is entailing. It's for the showboaters, the high pride people, for the people who are seeking self glory. Like Muslims do in public streets and stop traffic so they can pray, or for Catholics who say the same prayer repeatedly over and over again and think by doing so God will hear them. Yet Jesus clearly condemns both these forms of prayer.

I had not an ounce of intention of self glorification in that prayer or in my mind when I wrote it.

4

If posting his prayer was simply a karma grab, he already got his reward. If his intentions were sincere, and only OP knows that, there's nothing wrong.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

9
NancyPeloci 9 points ago +9 / -0

Because he's an anonymous guy on the internet? It's impossible for him to pray for profit in this forum. It's not a sin to provide a prayer for others to pray in private. That's how the Lord's prayer and others work. IMO.

-14
diogenesLamp -14 points ago +1 / -15

The Lord’s Prayer isn’t in prose that purple.

9
pqsusan 9 points ago +9 / -0

You've completely missed the point of these verses. The entire passage is saying to not making your praying and giving and fasting about you by calling attention to them. You also have to take into consideration all the other verses in the Bible that tell us to meet together for worship and prayer. It's not public prayer that's the issue; it's using prayer for attention and approval. With a user name like yours, you really should work on your contextual analysis skills. Because reading comprehension matters.

Methinks you protest too much. I don’t believe in aliens from Mars, and I spend absolutely no time or energy arguing with people who do. For me, Martians aren’t real, the people who believe in them are a bit off, and I have more important things to do with my life than try to convince them otherwise. You, on the other hand, jump into a faith discussion head first, flailing around the few lines of scripture you know that you think prove you right like a light saber of righteousness to destroy all the idiots. With whom you continue to argue long after the moment has passed. The Bible actually speaks about people like you, which is why you’re not going to get the standard “oh but you don’t understand how wonderful Jesus is” speech from this Christian. I’m not interested in trying to save you from yourself. Hell is real, and you’re jumping into it head first.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.' Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

You mean like publicly posting an overly flowery prayer?

5
pqsusan 5 points ago +5 / -0

You keep using that description. There's nothing "overly flowery" about it. And even if it were "overly flowery," what about it? Just because someone is using language that you don't like doesn't make it unacceptable. Besides, it's not the language that's point; it's the intent. And since you cannot judge intent, you also cannot comment on it. P.S. If you think that the language of the prayer is "overly flowery," you really should change your user name. It's ridiculous for someone like yourself who cannot properly interpret simple concepts and thinks that plain English is "flowery" to attach themselves to Diogenes.

13
Gulfdream 13 points ago +14 / -1

No, he's being very smart about this. He's allowing every other agency that has the power to do something to show their complicity, and allow them to continue in their inaction. Then when it's very clear to those who are watching that nobody intends to protect our freedoms, he will drop the EO. This is the best way to do it. Anyone who complains can be told "Congress and the FCC had ample opportunity to protect the free speech of all Americans online, and they failed to act, so I did it myself."

It's very smart.

3
Wingn 3 points ago +3 / -0

Section 230 is part of a law and it only protects actual platforms. The issue is not the law, it is the DoJ or FCC or whoever that has to redesignate these entities as publishers.

  • if you don't control content published on your website, you're a platform and have those protections

How do we comply and still keep commies, cucks and cretins off?

5
patriotX 5 points ago +5 / -0

Isn’t that the point of community moderation? It removes the liability from the owner of the site.

If reddit didn’t impose their admins and censorship on thedonald we would still be dominating the site.

3
brother_red 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, ok - I see the distinction you are making.

I don't think we quite have that dividing line between admins/mods here, so we could still get classed as a platform.

I'm trying to figure out what legal standard will open up the big guys, but not fuck us up, you know?

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that free market is the only answer.

Any site can censor as they wish, and the market will follow.

The government's role is to keep the established social media outlets from squashing upstarts.

For example, I tried Voat. I do not want to read "kike ni**er faggot" all day, so I quit going.

1
Captain_Triips 1 point ago +1 / -0

USC Section 230 protects them

the FCC could revoke those protections

4
MSG1000 4 points ago +4 / -0

No you meant publisher. And when one is a publisher the government (I believe) has to be reasonable. IE if you took something down as fast as humanly possible once you found out you aren’t liable. Twitter and FB just let shit sit while sniping wrong think within five minutes, providing their auto-censors didn’t catch it immediately. Therefore Twitter and FB have a capability they aren’t applying to everything they’re supposed to, ergo they’d be in trouble and we’d be fine.

3
brother_red 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oops. Yep. Corrected.

And I agree with you.

If twitter, reddit, failbook, etc weren't acting as publishers, then there would BE no need for .win

So its a .win/.win scenario

2
ThoughtExperiment 2 points ago +2 / -0
  1. Mark all active pre-platform accounts with positive karma as "trusted"
  2. Any sudden, large drop in Karma on any non-trusted account will temporarily disable that account
  3. After X number of such sudden large drops, the account is automatically deactivated.
  4. If the account is Y months old and has Z karma, then it is marked as "trusted."

This is basically what reddit is in the process of implementing. They have purged and banned a massive number of conservatives, and now all the default subs have implemented minimum account age/karma to post. Good luck maturing an account unless you're willing to pretend to be a leftist cuck for upvotes from leftist cucks.

2
Scumbag-reddit 2 points ago +2 / -0

Easy- .win is a page for Trump supporters. We openly state so and our bias is not hidden. Same thing as religious freedom. If a website, say reddit for example, were to openly come out and say "we're a website dedicated to oppose all things Trump" they can still be a platform while not allowing Trump supporters. But they don't, they claim to be a free speech corner of the internet.

Okay, so an Executive Order is issued. But how will it be enforced? Can it be enforced???? Or will it be another strongly worded letter? Can we treat the internet companies that provide a public space for discussion as a utility?

It depends on if the deep state can intercept the momentum and gut the execution of the order. The swamp is deep.

Harsh truth but this is squarely on Trump and has been for years. It shouldn't be in a just world but you know it, I know it, everybody knows that nothing was going to change unless Trump himself did something about it. The buck ends at his desk. Trump is the "Tough Love" president. He's let this fester for 3.5 years. Yes 3.5 years of Trump's inaction, whether "building a case" or not. It's that long because we always knew nobody would do anything, they all want to shift responsibility/blame upwards. I'm of the opinion a slam dunk case had been made before he was even elected president.

ACTION NOW FOR FUCKS SAKE

Unpopular truth about this situation:

https://thedonald.win/p/GbkF5N2H/x/c/141s2Gewie

TL:DR - The social media services in question can not be rehabilitated. Government intervention to force them to be free speech platforms will not produce the desired result. They'll always be biased.

Accept this fact, and categorize these services as publishers. Stop pretending they are platforms. Vote with your feet and move to a service that actually treats you fairly.

4
3
Jaqen 3 points ago +3 / -0

You are a rockstar, thank you!

I'm attempting to both be impartial and not suggest an alternative service. I also dislike most all existing services for various reasons.

The ones you've compiled in your list are mostly very good though, bravo!

2
NoMoreLies 2 points ago +2 / -0

NP 👍🏻 If you find any more good ones, you can send me a message

4
booblitchutz 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's not a question of "free speech platforms", because they aren't a government entity. But if they are unevenly applying the rules users of their "platform" agree to that creates an editorial slant, then they are a publisher. Forcing them to be transparent on who they take action on, why and when will allow for oversight on this. Ultimately, they can still decide to mute, block, shadowban who they choose as long as they are doing it evenly in accordance with their platform's rules.

1
Rathael 1 point ago +1 / -0

The simple fact is that if someone's free speech rights have to be infringed then I would rather it be Twitters instead of the millions of people that use it. The infringement should affect the least number of people.

1
Jaqen 1 point ago +1 / -0 (edited)

It is already very transparent who is and is not being censored, this much is self evident.

So going with your premise, Uncle Sam forces the service to "be more transparent about how it moderates content" or thereabouts. How is this accomplished? Does the CIA get access to the service's operational logs? Are the employees subject to realtime monitoring?

The point of these questions is to illustrate that this kind of nannying is untenable. It is either so totalitarian in nature that the service provider ceases to innovate due to the crushing weight of gov oversight, and becomes irrelevant - or it is half baked compliance auditing that can be danced around in an ever escalating game of cat and mouse.

To be direct: the service's rules, as stated in writing in the EULA, are that it can do absolutely whatever it wants with user submitted content.

The root problem is the laziness and incompetence of the services' user bases. The users failed to read the terms before agreeing to them, and then became too complacent to seek safer harbors. They've become addicted to the service, won't bother shopping around, and cry "unfair" when the very problems that they've been warned about for years, actually materialize.

These services can not be fixed by Uncle Sam. Leave the service if it sucks so bad (it does).

I find it absolutely hilarious how the same people who ranted and raved about how we desperately needed Net Neutrality "so that corporation can't decide what sites we can and can't access" are also the people who argue that it's a-okay that social media companies censor and suppress conservative speech because "they're private corporations and can do whatever they want."

As the old saying goes, if the left didn't have double standards then they'd have no standards at all.

I feel like Twitter and other tech companies censoring DJT right now might actually be to set up a narrative that he is doing this for himself.

They probably already know, since they own politicians, that this hearing will lead to nothing at all, and that it will come down to DJT to do something. So they're trying to make it seem as if it's a personal reactionary response, rather than something for the American people.

"The Truth About Facebook" by The Truth Factory on YouTube

1
Ennius 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think I found a way. 18 USC section 241, "conspiracy against rights" but it's a little constructionist. "If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same..." The constructionist part is if an entity extends freedom of the press (for example posting on Twitter) to an individual, and then revokes that privilege, it could be construed as oppression.

If GEOTUS directed the FBI's Civil Rights Division to solicit complaints on those grounds and investigate them social media companies would get real honest real quick, the last thing any tech company wants is a bunch of feds with badges, pistols and usb drives serving warrants.

Not only are we sick of it, we are disgusted with seeing multiple felonies and open treason committed without justice being served or literally any punishment at all. Meanwhile they promote openly violent groups and the crimes they commit. The more this goes on the less legitimate our government will be to the common people. Which leads to ever growing amounts of out of control crime. Which leads to leaving the entire country vulnerable to foreign entities coming in to conquer our country such as the UN or the communist Chinese. We aren't sick of it at this point, we are ready to hang the people violating our rights, the treasonous communist scum within our governmental institutions, and the pedophiles. We outnumber you and have more ammo than you. You better fucking believe there's a rifle behind every blade of grass. You can either be truthful to the people about every that has happened and hang the traitors in public to restore faith in government(we have all their names so you can't do any bait and switch bullshit) or we will gladly hunt them down ourselves. That's the "you are here" on the map in American history.

What Big Tech is doing is wrong, but bringing government into the mix to solve this is WRONG! This is no different than Net-Neutrality where government basically seizes control of private enterprise via regulations.

Aren't we conservatives? Don't we want LESS government regulation in private enterprise?

There are already growing Free Market solutions to Twitter and Facebook in Parlor and Gab. The problem is that Trump is resisting to switch to those platforms and bring his followers with him. In this regard, he is empowering the Masters of the Universe by freely giving them his social equity.

Sorry, but if you're supporting these EOs then you're part of the long-term Big-Gov-In-All-Aspects-of-Our-Lives problem.

We need more Free Market solutions free from government intervention, not more Big Gov intervention of the Free Market.
