Ok then...fire all the teachers, hire a few teachers who can do online classes and let kids school from home. Online classes would require far fewer teachers, saving tons of money, no buildings to maintain, saving tons of.money.

Then they can refund all the tax dollars we spent to fund the school system.

bangbus 106 points ago +106 / -0

Don’t even need to hire new teachers. Just put all the kids on Khan Academy. It’s free.

the difference between Khan Academy and the average professor is staggering..... Khan is 1000x better at teaching.

It’s the same thing at K12. There are still good colleges and elementary schools, but they’re seemingly the exception. Here in the Bay, teachers are still getting paid despite not going in to work and at times not even doing Zoom style classes, while families are left to pay for people to be the teacher for their kid that’s facilitating an abundance of busy work homework and watching them so they can themselves work to pay for it all. Giant shit show. I’ll remember all this the next time our teachers here ‘go on strike’ for higher wages. Cashiers are working harder than most right now.

bangbus 21 points ago +21 / -0

I have a buddy in the north paying $26k of property taxes. When the schools closed in March, 4 of his daughter’s teachers sent a link to Khan Academy. One of them checked in and felt bad, the other 3 had zero communication. This guy is so pissed off right now.

11
ClownTamer 11 points ago +11 / -0

He got off easy if that’s all he’s paying out here! We have public school taxes on top of all that shit too. Everything in the Bay is one giant money grab. We even have ‘low wage workers’ taxes put on restaurant bills, that are independent from other taxes, and independent from giving waiters their tips. People can make $150k a year here and give most of it up and be broke otherwise from this shit.

Learned how to tutor from Khan academy and helped people pass organic chemistry.

31
DrinkLikeAGilmore 31 points ago +31 / -0

Khan academy really helped me get a better understanding of chemistry and was the main reason I did so well in my COLLEGE classes.

A trained seal would have been a better teacher for my youngest kid's geometry class.

Since when did our schools lose the ability to teach freaking geometry?

Seriously, the principal told me, with a straight face, that "everyone has trouble with geometry."

13

shapes are hard bro

8
bangbus 8 points ago +8 / -0

We were drinking beers in the front yard on Friday night and one of the neighbor kids stopped by to ask us to keep it down because she had to take the ACT on saturday. We obliged, but me and one other guy somehow, after a dozen beers, managed to quiz her, and confirm accuracy, on every major geometric formula on the ACT. And we’re old. That principal is why we are fucked. Our parents demanded excellence and we push our kids. The West is seriously fucking doomed.

We use Khan academy for homeschool.

I havent had to teach for years. And it's free.

10
bangbus 10 points ago +10 / -0

We’re thinking about that even if the schools open back up. My wife has taken a major red pill over the past 8 weeks and has lost a lot of confidence in establishment systems. It’s been remarkable to watch.

36
OnlyAmerica 36 points ago +36 / -0

This. Think about it. Public school is basically kindergarten for older kids. They go there to be babysat by means of being kept busy via classes throughout the day. The teachers give live lectures that are now accessible and available at no cost through online platforms (of which Khan Academy is the most famous).

The general structure is: lecture -> homework -> review -> knowledge test. Rinse and repeat.

Think about how much time and money you can save by putting your kids in online classes. You just have to sit down for a couple hours to sketch out the day schedule for the kids and you are good to go.

15
litsy 15 points ago +15 / -0

I'm a sub and recently graduated from a teacher program.

If I ever have kids I'm not sending them to public school. I don't even think private school is a good option since it's just a copy of public school but without as many disruptive students.

Parents should homeschool their children or send them to co-ops. We need a separation of school and state in this country.

Hillsdale College has some great free stuff!

MIT has tons of shit for free. Warning- not all the math classes provide answers, which sucks.

9
Belleoffreedom 9 points ago +9 / -0

I went to parochial school, two different middle schools and two different high schools. Parochial school was good. One of the high schools was run by the Air Force and it was superb. All the rest was mostly babysitting.

6
HockeyMom4Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

And no need to worry about having to buy lots of clothes. During the distance learning this year my son was thrilled to wear whatever was super comfortable.

2
MAGAMAN4EVA 2 points ago +4 / -2

I'd would have been so pissed if I was home schooled. Need to make friends and talk to girls man. I guess no one minds them only every having internet girlfriends.

2
OnlyAmerica 2 points ago +3 / -1

Hey, I feel ya. The good thing is you actually can let your kids play more with the neighborhood kids outside of their study time.

3
MAGAMAN4EVA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Where I grew up there were only like 5 kids in bike riding distance and I didn't like 3 of them. So glad I got to meet 100's of other kids my age and go hang out in other parts of town. And yea it took 8 hours at school everyday for me to make friends. Slow process for me!

2
LadyOfLorien 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nice job knowing absolutely nothing about how homeschooling actually works.

Even if you're the one family in the country who never does a co-op or a small homeschool class or club, there's still sports, extracurriculars, scouting, church, youth groups...

1
MAGAMAN4EVA 1 point ago +2 / -1

Kids need to learn how to run their own lives without their parents looking over their shoulder all day. Southpark nailed homeschooling.

1
LadyOfLorien 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sooo... your only knowledge of what homeschooling is comes from... South Park?

Okay, hon. Have a nice day

1
MAGAMAN4EVA 1 point ago +2 / -1

I wouldn't think the episode was funny unless I knew what they were talking about. They go hard but they make fair points. School is about learning how to socialize. Not being around your parents for 18 years straight. And yes you may produce a whore for a daughter.

15
Hombre29 15 points ago +15 / -0

But muh socializing!

Also you're there to learn, not socialize :^)

13
Dictator_Bob 13 points ago +13 / -0

Socializing under the guidance of parents vs. strangers without your values.

9
Spacecat518 9 points ago +9 / -0

I hear that about socializing. Not all socializing is good. In fact it can be completely distracting and super negative in some cases. I went to a very large school that felt like a prison a lot of times. I think I would have loved to be homeschooled.

4
MustangManny 4 points ago +4 / -0

Brian Kilmeade from Fox & Friends was using this as an argument against homeschooling. I really hate that neocon.

3
Joesf23 3 points ago +3 / -0

"Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you" - 2 Corinthians 6:17

Mixing with the unrighteous is a bad thing, no one should want their kid to be mixing with baby-murdering Leftists in the first place

3
LadyOfLorien 3 points ago +3 / -0

When people talk about socializing, they're really talking about sexualizing.

I was in a co-op, I was in a community theater troupe, I was in a bowling league, I took weekend art classes, I was in girl scouts, and half a dozen other classes and clubs over the years, with homeschool kids, non-homeschool kids, and grown-ass adults, and people still bitched to my mom about "socialization," usually in the same breath they bitched about "health class."

Khan Academy —— Gates...

10
Dictator_Bob 10 points ago +11 / -1 (edited)

Education needs a radical transformation that serves the public interest. It is time to teach children skills that matter in this world. And I don't mean just the language of mathematics. I mean how our system works from the distribution of parcels of land to the construction of new markets. Every child should enter adulthood understanding how to leverage compound interest and how circuit boards work.

4
Spikeball 4 points ago +4 / -0

The current system is the result of people trying to do what you propose. Government education is like Communism: the idea sounds great in theory, but it never works in practice. All you'll get are a bunch of kids who took an economics class and forgot everything that was ever said. I took two econ classes in college and I barely remember a word of it.

If government education classes worked, then the entire country would be bilingual since almost every child spends years taking Spanish classes.

1
Dictator_Bob 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't remember proposing a "system" I do remember demanding we allow our citizens to go bankrupt or default on student loans. Would you explain to all of us while perpetual debt [slavery] is acceptable in your ideology? I'm not getting it, this sounds leftist to me.

1
Spikeball 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think you may have meant that reply for a different conversation? What I was saying is that public education did start as a way to teach everyone the skills that mattered and the right beliefs, but it wound up becoming a bloated and completely ineffective monstrosity. That's the nature of government monopolies like that. Even if you took the current government education system, dismantled it, and replaced it with a totally new curriculum, the same process of corruption would render it just as bad eventually.

Anything beyond making sure everyone is literate is simply too risky a job for a government education system

1
Dictator_Bob 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah I was on a good one that day and you got caught in some crossfire. Forgive the stupidity and keep on keepin' on 'pede. Also lol you are dead on however this is a challenge we should stop accepting. IMHO, what we learn in our earliest years matters significantly here.

10
wolfygirl2 10 points ago +10 / -0

Not only that, but many of our schools are used for in person voting locations. Should be interesting this November.

9
EagleI 9 points ago +9 / -0

And about teachers being lazy and selfish. They get paid whether they sit at home and do nothing OR whether they go to school and do their job. The grocery workers didn't get that deal.

4
Spikeball 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think we should let them shoot themselves in the foot on this one. Let people figure out how to arrange childcare without the government and tax dollars. Then we can greatly reduce government education.

That shuts down the government-funded Leftist indoctrination that goes on in each and every government school, giving Conservativism a fighting chance with younger generations

1
LadyOfLorien 1 point ago +1 / -0

And it will increase the number of families where one parent stays home with the kids, which would be a wonderful gain for society.

calipede here arnold schwarzenegger is a pussy

he tried to enact education reform that would have severely curtailed the power of the teachers' union both to affect policy in education and also and especially the budget, and the teachers' union panicked so much they damn near bankrupted themselves running ads against it and it narrowly failed, driven by the near constant "wont somebody think of the children" bullshit ads the teachers union ran

what did arnold do in response? he gave up and never pursued this again because it upset his hollywood dingleberry buddies. if that had been Trump he would have done it again and again and again because eventually the teachers union runs out of money and you only need that measure to pass ONCE before you can start undoing the decades of damage that Marxist infiltration has done to our education system

5
assault_art 5 points ago +5 / -0

I lost all interest in arnie one day when I casually stopped by E! and they mentioned how he pardoned a murderer as a favor to some rich guy, what the fuck?! But they were super nonchalant about it, like "it's something most politicians do before their final term ends and they can't run again".

I haven't watched anything he is in since then, and last time I saw E! was some solid 12 years ago or more.

I think that's also where I learned about roman polanski getting an award at the oscars from france, because, you know, he raped a child.

They were surprisingly open about hollyweird's evil, considering they're part of it.

They also had a special on scientology and if I recall correctly they showed a photo of a guy who died boiling in a bathtub at a scientology hotel or something like that... to this day I don't understand how something like that could happen, I mean... can't you get out of the tub if it's that hot?

25

I’m an employee in public education and I second this. Cancel the indoctrination camps. I worked and still work another job during the quarantine and I grew a massive Kung Flu Victory Garden while this “pandemic” is happening. Not sick once. Work in close proximity to people. Not sick once. It’s almost like, a certain party doesn’t want a good crisis to go to waste.

Exactly. If it's unsafe to go back to work, then you don't have a job.

They just want to sit around and get paid. Lay them off. They can re-apply when they decide it's safe enough. In a few years maybe.

4
HockeyMom4Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes, there are plenty of teachers looking for work that aren't concerned about going into a school.

11
LibertyStillMatters 11 points ago +14 / -3

Online classes don’t work, that’s the problem. Kids need to be in the classroom. Furthermore, take a look at some of the ‘parents’. How much learning and structure do you think they are providing?

I agree that the teacher need to go back to work and the unions are playing politics. I’d imagine a great number of the teachers enjoy sitting on their asses and getting paid and that’s another issue.

7
HockeyMom4Trump 7 points ago +7 / -0

Teachers that I knew love not working in the school. They walked around the lakes, did home improvement projects, baked, worked in the garden...

3
FudgyFudgeBots 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have a son who just graduated from a private college who only accepts 30% of applicants. He was homeschooled and most of his classes were online.

Online classes do work.

1
LibertyStillMatters 1 point ago +1 / -0

For the mature and intelligent, yes. I think they are the exception, however.

2
FudgyFudgeBots 2 points ago +2 / -0

There will always be immature and dumb kids. They wont excel in the schools or in homeschools.

Take a look at Khan academy and see what you think about online schooling. I think you will be surprised at how engaging and effective it is.

1
LibertyStillMatters 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh, I’m not degrading online schooling or alternative ways to educate. We may be doing the same things with our kids when the time comes as I know full well what public school’s priorities are.

It’s in this case schools need to be open. Parents can’t be required to take more time off to make sure their kids are actually doing the online courses, teachers can’t sit on their ass and get paid via our tax dollars, and we don’t want a situation where kids are graduating without a actually mastering any subject matter.

I mean, what’s the reason to not do this? I’m not joking.

11

Maybe we can replace them with H1Bs, who will work for 30% less and shitty benefits. We can see how quickly those teach become "racists".

You know they won’t refund the tax dollars. That money got embezzled a long time ago.

3
HockeyMom4Trump 3 points ago +3 / -0

You don't need three physics teachers. One teacher can teach an online lesson and all the students can watch it (instead of having to teach Period 2, Period 3, Period 4. Then the students can complete the assignments and that one Physics teacher will have ample time to grade since they are not teaching the same class several periods per day. This will save taxpayers a bundle! Give me back my property taxes now.

2

Not only grocery store employees. Pretty much most of the Retail industry has remained open. It has not been easy. There are a lot of people who do not fully comprehend what we deal with day to day. Some people can be downright nasty, and very unappreciative of what we do. I am not complaining, I am just stating a fact. I have pretty thick skin, so I can take a lot.

The crossover of Karen's and teachers is pretty high. To them they are God's gift and you are their slave.

2

Stop using the Karen meme. It’s classic ideological subversion, designed to shame women of a certain background.

You wouldn’t call someone a Shaniqua, would you?

20

No, but I would call a black Karen karen as well.

18
GoyaConfused 18 points ago +24 / -6 (edited)

Does the meme ever refer to black women?

No.

It’s propaganda, intended to subvert women who are majority Christian, conservative. A quick google search for “Karen meme” reveals the mockery it intends upon white women, white families, etc...

Do you really think that the rise of “Karen memes” happened organically at the same time as the rise of BLM? ... Be vigilant, stand up against the constant demoralization.

18
ItsBigLeagueNotBigly 18 points ago +18 / -0

You're 100% correct. Instead of using Karen, start saying Shaniqua or Tameka. You'll be called a racist by the left.

12

6

These people wish to stay home and be safe from the wuflu while collecting a government check. They scream about safety while heaping fake praise on us. Shove your "hero" talk up your ass. Go to work.

25
sustainable_saltmine 25 points ago +25 / -0

yep. they think us hiding from the virus is going to make it go away.

and yes, I hate all the "muh front line workers/essential workers" shit too. They're only "essential" because you said they were and they perform a function that we need. I guarantee there's a certain percentage of the nursing community that walks into, say, Starbucks or Dunkin on their day off in scrubs and expects a discount, or someone telling them how brave they are or "thanking them for what they do".

They just perform a job like everyone else. They chose that profession, no one forced it on them. They're not more worthy of praise than anyone else.

LA Teachers union voted to not go back and I live in OC and it's just as bad here. We have pockets of freedom lovers but they've managed to really ruin my county as of late and my poor son is doing terrible with this distant learning stuff. He's far too young for it to be effective, but teachers don't seem to care about the kids, just their own asses.

Have students attend school in Walmart! Apparently Walmart is safe with a mandatory mask, but not the local school.

17
Keiichi81 17 points ago +17 / -0

Tell the teachers they can wear a mask but they have to be back in the classroom with students physically present come September. If they complain, ask them if they're implying masks don't work to protect you from the China virus.

Either they admit that masks don't work and everyone wearing them is just being a stupid sheep, or they cling to the nonsense that masks do work and therefor they have no leg to stand on for refusing to return to their jobs.

8
KekistanPM 8 points ago +8 / -0

There are some exceptions. I had a public high school history teacher who kept copies of the Limbaugh Letter on his desk in full view of the class. He also didn't take crap from students acting up in class.

But this was before 2000.

5
ImWithXir 5 points ago +5 / -0

I honestly think a lot of history teachers are right-leaning, especially the ones that have been teaching for a long time.

I had a high school History teacher who was always talking about the importance of fact-checking any information you see in any form of media and forming your own conclusions. She always talked about how important it is to know both the good and the bad parts of our history and how easily history can be altered. To 15 year old me, she was just a crazy lady. 2016 was the first presidential race I could vote in, and the first one I really paid attention to. Watching the way the media treated Trump during the race, everything she had said years earlier hit me like a bus and I realized she was 100% right.

2
MegaMagaMan13 2 points ago +3 / -1

history teachers are mostly right-leaning because we've already seen this liberal bullshit happen before, and we know what comes next.

13
50blessings 13 points ago +13 / -0

I am currently a retail worker at Target and we only got our first CV case in the entire store a couple of weeks ago. It’s bullshit that schools have to shut down but a general store that serves literally hundreds of people (I work in one of the highest volume Target stores relative to our size in our state if not the country) is open all the time and only 1 person ON THE NIGHT SHIFT (THEY DON’T EVEN DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS) has been infected.

2

it doesn't matter what we teachers say here.

We apparently aren't welcome in conservative circles. This thread is full of assholes who want nothing more than to vilify teachers.

We may as well become libshits if this is how we get treated by our own side.

3
frumpy 3 points ago +3 / -0 (edited)

I feel ya. My wife is a teacher and gets lumped in with the vocal crowd all the time. You are welcome here. I think some of these posters are making generalizations and kinda circle jerking. I find it funny.

It happens even when pay is discussed and no one bothers to learn the truth. They take whatever headline they read from NY or Chicago and apply to all teachers.

Got an argument with a fellow teacher friend of mine. They said people shouldn't be letting fear drive them away from public school to a cyber school. I asked them, why then do you support the party telling students that if they enter a school this year them and their family will literally die? Either the the virus is so bad that you cant open schools and cyber schools would be the natural alternative or the virus is not that bad and the Democrats are lieing to everyone for political gain in an election year. It has to be one or the other.

Edit: I work at a cyber charter school and our enrollment is up 3xs so far this year

If schooling from home takes off, do these teachers actually think their districts will need to keep even a tenth of them around? It's going to be the fucking teaching apocalypse if that happens. We could have one person instructing a hundred kids at a time, or a thousand. I feel like teachers have been conned by their Marxist unions into thinking the benefits will keep flowing and their jobs will become a comfy stay-at-home affair. Let me give you a glimpse of their future: Laid off because Prakash in Bangalore can talk on a Skype screen for pennies on the dollar, and for no benefits. And of course the private tutoring market here will become saturated overnight with starving former state educators. Welcome to the gig economy motherfuckers.

While the left allegedly cares about low wage workers. Teachers aren’t exactly raking it in, but if you believe a modicum of this plandemic, then the grocery store/retail workers are on the front lines, and the smart ones are gracious about remaining employed. Meanwhile, we gotta listen to a handful of teachers who complain all the while guzzling down our tax dollars? No thanks.

Frankly I want to go back to work and I'm not afraid at all about this virus. I work at a university (not on the academic front, in IT) and we've been working from home since March. With all the crap they want to do including alternating days, whatnot and contact tracing, "health screenings" and all, they've let talk of how to set up if we need to come back in person on a department basis. if there's a chance where I can just continue to work from home, I'll take it. Not because of fear of the virus, I just don't feel like dealing with all that crap every day I have to go in.

Wife is a preschool teacher, she can't wait to go back and teach in person. They have a union but it's not the NEA or an affiliate. She's tired of this whole thing but she's more the type to just do what they tell her and "not stress over it"

3
EagleI 3 points ago +3 / -0

100%

Teachers are mostly "feelers" rather than "thinkers." We have to appeal to them emotionally.

What they are doing is HURTING children and families. There are kids trapped in abusive home environments with no outside contact right now. There are kids in food insecure homes without cafeteria breakfasts and lunches to depend on. There are kids playing in the street without supervision while their parents work. There are kids with extreme anxiety that they are doing to die from a virus that has killed less than 100 under 18 years of age.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

Local school board meeting, a music teacher made the "point" that even if you keep every class together and they only are in contact with each other, a music/PE/whatever teacher will be in contact with every student in the school each week. The simpl solution to that is to just not have music/PE/whatever class until it's no longer an issue. What's that you say? "New normal?" Well then I guess those classes need to be cut. For the children.

1
DeadOverRed 1 point ago +1 / -0

They've been trying to cut these for years, and have in many places. Teacher: Little Johnny was bad, so we cut out his PE time. Me: Well, that's a sure way to make him behave worse. Schools have hated kids for a long time.

They're right guys.

It's simply too dangerous for public employees to be FORCED to go back to teaching.

It's time to shift the burden of teaching our children to the private sector, who have demonstrated are far more capable of dealing with the extreme danger of the pandemic.

Grocery stores, Amazon factories, etc., have all stayed open and continued to provide us with necessary services with hardly a hiccup. It's time to put that expertise toward the education of our children.

Also teahers go out and and buy groceries, go to the gym, attend protest. All federal money to the parents who are now home with their kids.

4
Freedomtom 4 points ago +4 / -0

Unfortunately, teachers need a reality check to appreciate what they have. Aside from the day care qualities, which are entirely predicated on two working parents, they don't offer any real value kids can't learn on their own with reasonable supervision. Might just have to burn down.

4
MustangManny 4 points ago +4 / -0

They have a point though. Government education is an absolutely colossal expense in general, it forms the plurality of most States' budgets and after people learn to read it accomplishes nothing beyond being free daycare. Our government would become massively more efficient if we just shuttered all the schools

And the teachers moaning about going back, I can guarantee you, maybe not all but most, have been shopping, ordering off amazon, maybe going out to eat, going on vacation. It’s ok for others to risk their lives to serve them. It’s ok for every single other occupation to go back to work. It’s fine for them to “get out of their house” and go to target or Starbucks. There is honestly no excuse to not go back. My kids are learning at home not because of a germ. It’s the chaos, the protesting, the hand wringing, the fear mongering. People are losing their minds.

There are a lot of very lazy public school teachers. No, not all are lazy. But too many are. They've spent so long congratulating themselves for their selflessness and sacrifice and blah blah blah, they're absolute narcissists. And now they're outraged to discover that they can't just spend their lives wearing pajama pants and teaching for roughly 3 hours a week.

It's possible to teach in a classroom while minimizing the risks of pathogen transmission. You just have to put in some fucking effort.

Can i share a real life thing from my childhood. Teachers went on strike, the usual demand for money and the big glorious retirement at age 55. This over the summer months with the threat they would not return in September.

Parents and everyone organized replacements. So as a kid I show up in 6th grade and here's this retired old lady. The math class is this 70 year old Russian (yes, drunk) and then random parents. English class was some lawyer lady, PE was someone's dad who brought cans of beer for lunch.

Best damn month of my school years. We liked them all, the 90 year old lady was surprisingly excellent at teaching, the PE dad was beloved AT WORST it was no difference.

You never saw a Teachers Union cave so fucking fast. Like whenever first test results came in and were as good or better with volunteer parents - suddenly they announced heroic needs to help children and swore they'd strike later but WOW DID THEY HAUL ASS BACK TO WORK ASAP!

I can only hope this happens many many times again in September.

Hey, eff them. Working nine months out of the year is already too much for them? Peace. One of the best things that could happen is to take your kids out of public school.

Sorry, I have nothing else to think or say about teachers other than to call them lazy. Sorry if you know someone who is a teacher or are a teacher yourself.

They have been off since March and looking to be off into next year. While getting paid to sit at home in most cases.

What you will see is a whole generation of uneducated children. From children just starting out this year to children ready to leave school.

Healthcare worker, direct pt care. I’m glad to be working but my company cut benefits slightly because of this.

2
MustangManny 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why? I would think your services are needed now more than ever.

3
Indianapede 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yup. Very busy and job more difficult than ever. Love my job but wouldn’t mind my job being exponentially more difficult resulting in equal compensation. Those hero signs outside the buildings are advertisement.

My 8 year old here in NY has had the same Special Ed teacher for a couple years, His online meet ups and courses were a useless waste of time and his teacher actually came to the house to give him some gifts from the teachers aides, including a "I survived Class of 2020" shirt with toilet paper rolls for the 0's.

She stressed the importance of the kids being back in school, particularly ones in his position and when i asked she told me there was really no plan sorted to re-open in the fall and i could sense she was genuinely frustrated. Sad he won't have her next year, It's rare to find a teacher as invested as you are as a parent.

Seriously though, get over it.

unicornpoop 3 points ago +4 / -1

Because getting a 6 month vacation every year just isn't enough. They want to get a 12 month vacation every year.

My wife is a teacher, she’s disgusted with this. Most of her coworkers are in the same boat as well. If you don’t want to come back to work because you don’t feel safe (pussies, right off the hop), then stay locked in you houses, WITH NO PAY, cucks.

The children are being held hostage in the war against GEOTUS!

If you are a teacher, and don't have your own supply of zinc plus ionophore (elderberry, quercetin, hydroxychloroquine, for example) and you haven't talked to your doctor about exactly when to start self treatment, call, or head to the hospital, you lack forethought and are unfit to teach.

Cacciali_Via 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was sick and went for a test. While waiting for results I called my doc about getting HCQ and was told no. Not unless I was admitted to the hospital.

Wtf?

Make education essential, so that essential workers can do it. Problem? Solved.

"Thank you for shopping at Walmart, will that be all for you? Your total comes out to $(7x + 4y) / ( 2y - 3), where x = 1/5y - 2, and y = 12/7. Would you like to sign up for our special offer? Your y could be 13/7 or more today!

Excellent! If Charlie is the first to qualify for this offer, then Austin may not qualify unless he is the second or fifth. If Austin is the second to qualify, then Delilah does not qualify unless she is the second or first. Beverly always qualifies unless she is last to qualify, or if she qualifies before you or Frank. If Charlie and Delilah qualify, then Etna qualifies, unless Charlie is third. Frank was the fourth to qualify. You only qualify if you give the proper order for everyone to qualify for this special offer. Alternatively, please spell the word "lagniappe" and use it in a sentence to qualify.

We're almost done! We just need to check one more thing. In your own words please explain the surface meaning behind the famous 'to be or not to be?' soliloquy, and give a modern allegoric construct that also fits the prose and superficially demonstrates how prescient Shakespeare was. Alternatively, please take apart this radio, label each part inside, and successfully reassemble it. Either way, your membership level will be graded on completion, originality, and time.

Great! Would you like a bag that is made out of C2HO or CH3Cl? And one last question, please remember to respond in the same language:

¿Prefiere pagar en efectivo o con tarjeta?

Préférez-vous payer en espèces ou par carte?

Nín shìfǒu yuànyì yòng zìjǐ méiyǒu de xiànjīn huò shèhuì xìnyòng lái fùkuǎn?

Möchten sie lieber mit bargeld oder karte bezahlen?"

More teachers want to go back to work than you think. Also, ask your school where their quarantine room will be. You think stores and restaurants are crazy wait until you see the schools. Lots of companies making money off of our taxes, Under the guise of covid renovations.

Typicall school doesn't even really require physical interactions between students and teachers. Students are pretty much the only ones at risk, but yet they also have the lowest danger risk, so....

My grandma is in a nursing home in WA state. Kind of reminds me of all the staff and directors who resigned or quit their jobs because it was “unsafe”to work. I thought many of those people worked in that career because they’re social service oriented types willing to serve and help others? By resigning and quitting they’ve made it much more difficult for the elderly to receive proper care in this time. Assholes.

and yet I'm betting getting their full pay. no wonder they don't want to go back sit home and get your full pay check. I won't lie I work in IT at a college and working at home and I damn sure never want to go back but thing is I'm doing my full job as if I was sitting at my desk.

Duh, didn't you know? Teachers are one of the most oppressed professions, what with their teachers' unions and average of three months off a year.

Been here going on 2 years, no break, no vacation, no benefits I didn't bust my ass for (insurance isn't given after a certain time at my company, you have to earn it when you're part time and full time.) and I'm still showing up for work everyday. Got breathing problems that makes wearing a mask dangerous at times, but I've been wearing it for 3 months solid. I deal with the customers directly 5-6 days a week. No son of a bitch who babysits the same bastards who throw fits in my line deserves better treatment or pay!

2

No work, no pay. Vouchers.

2
Potomato 2 points ago +2 / -0

The teachers around here cry about low pay but they are making 50-70k a year, and it’s not even a all year job, I’ve worked jobs that I worked 50-60 hours a week for two years to even get close to 50k. Shit most of them are crap anyway.

Let the wal mart workers teach!

2
ssdj 2 points ago +2 / -0

Every teacher Ive worked with has been trash. You wonder why kids cant do basic arithmetic and concrete critical thinking skills? Teachers unions. I say give em a curbjib aka American History X.

2
mnguy12000 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's not the teachers only. I know MANY who want to go back. The leaders are failing the students, blame the governor or local school districts who can make those decisions.

2
Dilligaf 2 points ago +2 / -0

I work as a vendor. Fuck the recalcitrant teachers.

Or why isn't there an epidemic of servers falling over dead? None of us wear our masks when we got to eat at restaurants, but I haven't heard one fucking story about a waiter falling over dead from Covid. Probably because pretty much every waiter alive is under 90 years of age.

2
remember1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do they admit they're non-essential?

2
gamephreak5 2 points ago +3 / -1

Can confirm, I've been working around children coming through our lines all the time since the plandemic happened, and not once have I gotten the coof.

The teachers are either lazy or their cowards.

Just because teachers aren't working doesn't mean schools have been empty.
