I’m starting to feel like none of this matters. Bunch of places are already going right back on lockdown.

No amount of facts matters anymore, they control the narrative, not us.

The government has learned a new trick. "Health-scare" panic mode. I'm surprised that Hitler never thought of this.

Edit: as predicted, the markets are spooked. 750 point swing. It's ugly but, I don't really blame them. I wouldn't invest in an authoritarian market either. This very possibly will turn into a shooting war. Not against citizens though.

Meanwhile no one knows anyone who has even had COVID, lol.

FAKE FLUS!

Edit: Yes, I know people have had it, dorks. I'm saying the response is a farce; it's political, and thus, fake.

What you talking about? My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl said she knew a guy with COVID-19. It's pretty serious.

Same. My bro gave it to 8 people......in December.

Edit: they all survived. End the lockdowns.

25

Exactly. Back in December and January I knew people who likely had it... and now nothing. The hype for this is unreal and is actively harming people.

My friend tested positive after he lost his sense of taste and was worried. He's 28 and healthy and didn't even get a cough. He said if it wasn't in the news he wouldn't of even considered going to get tested since he had no serious symptoms. On the same note, my mom's close gay friend who is HIV positive also got it, he got really sick but no cough and he ended up recovering in a week.

31
Weremoose 31 points ago +31 / -0

HIV positive and recovered from a viral infection.

This whole thing is such a farce.

Good for him, tho

2

I'm wondering if this virus has already mutated into something symbiotic. It's not like dead bats are constantly falling out of the sky.

24
olliec420 24 points ago +24 / -0

This is the correct answer right here.

9
GodsHonestTruth 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yes, it just tests if you are feeling sick and then chalk it up to Covid. Just like they double count the cases, cross contaminate people who don't have it with people who do like in nursing homes. It's all a sick fraud. The death counts are down, because I guess they ran out of nursing home victims in the liberal cities.

8
olliec420 8 points ago +8 / -0

Thats something I'm thinking too.

You need to expand your social circle.

Two of my wife's cousins(aged 78 & 72) straight up died from COVID.

A former co-volunteer of mine on the rescue ambulance had it (survived), and 10+ folks at my day job have had it as well. All but one recovered already. Still suffering one is an elderly female who has been hospitalized for 2+ weeks.

You can see my other posts about how little risk of death there is from COVID for folks under 60 years of age, but for older folks the risk is real. Just like it is for the flu. And pneumonia. And heart disease. And hypertension. And renal failure. And cancer. And, and and.

12
Weremoose 12 points ago +12 / -0

It's hyperbole, homie

12
olliec420 12 points ago +12 / -0

Two of my wife's cousins(aged 78 & 72) straight up died from COVID.

its possible they could have succumbed to any seasonal flu/pneumonia. Were they in bad health?

3
HumbleMemeFarmer 3 points ago +7 / -4

Both tested positive for COVID. Both went out with ARDS, one on a ventilator and the other a few hours after being taken off of a respirator.

Neither had any health problems that were apparent, other than TMB.

Again, see my other posts, I know that the VID is wildly over-hyped, and many folks are ignoring that the risk curve is directly related to age, but it is a special kind of dumb to suggest "no one knows anyone who has even had COVID". That's the kind of (not declared as hyperbole before edit) statement that gets held up as a negative example.

7
cowpen 7 points ago +7 / -0

Sorry for your loss. It's tragic that the CCP virus is especially hard on older people. But to me, it would be even more tragic if it equally affected the very young like many strains of flu.

9
ColbyP 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's almost like old folks have old, tired bodies or something and can't deal with medical issues very well.

5
HumbleMemeFarmer 5 points ago +6 / -1

And folks who treat their bodies like crap.

Folks with T2DM and/or morbid obesity get taken out disproportionately.

Imagine that, eating like an asshole has actual ramifications.

I assume that in the end (phrasing) the left will somehow find a way that'll make that be society's fault.

1

TOTAL BULLSHIT!! None of the other diseases you listed have killed anyone since February. Our medical system cured all that shit, just in time for covid to become an issue.

But why would anything Stormy Daniels had to say be important enough for a congressman to comment on? It was a completely private matter, politically motivated, but really no congressman could possibly say anything relevant to the case.

I think you should complain about actual political issues where RINO's are absent and shouldn't be. But that Stormy Daniels nonsense was not political.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. YOU CAN PROTEST WITHOUT A MASK, SO I'M PROTESTING THE MASK BY NOT WEARING A MASK.

5
LadyWhoLovesTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

Get used to it. It's been like that for months where I live, with no sign of it letting up. People can say "Dont patronize those stores, shop somewhere else." But there are ZERO stores where I live that "let" you shop without one. I believe we will be wearing masks for years to come, just like commie chyna after SARS.

4
CQVFEFE 4 points ago +5 / -1

CDC recommended NOT wearing one because after studying 10 randomized trials, there was no benefit to wearing one. But! CDC also recommends wearing one. WHO recommends NOT wearing one.

Is this article is correct, 4000 hospitalizations in a state the size of Texas and the entire state panics.

Texas has over 500 hospitals. Thats less than10 covid admissions per hospital average. This cant be whats causing panic, can it?

No wonder they pushed common core. They cant have people doung math to figure out that we're being played.

18
dldeuce 18 points ago +18 / -0

You left out one of the main points of this article and that is that every admission of a covid positive patient is a covid hospitalization, even when he's brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound. There's not 4000 covid hospitalizations. Statewide counts for covid hospitalizations are totally bogus, just like statewide deaths.

8
FudgyFudgeBots 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes.

5
TrumpTrain 5 points ago +5 / -0

Someone posted the policy from another state the other day, they count each positive test as a new case, even though they tear the same Infected person multiple times, until they confirm that they no longer test positive. Basically inflating the number of cases.

4
Hillarysudders 4 points ago +4 / -0

That’s why they use confirmed cases total. So here in Connecticut, confirmed cases is 45 thousand and some change. 3.565 million population. If they used percentage... Covid cases is ONLY 1.27 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION. ONE POINT TWO SEVEN.

44
fartmaker123 44 points ago +44 / -0

This "reversal in tone" occurred after Governor Abbot also cancelled Elective Procedures, which are a major profit center for the hospitals.

I posted a link yesterday showing how there was plenty surge capacity in the Houston area hospital systems, contrary to the prevailing "Fuck off we're full" media hype.

32
MadRussian 32 points ago +32 / -0

"Doctor, this man contracted Coronavirus while rioting in Dallas. He also got shot several times attempting to loot a business. We did everything we could to stabilize him, but he passed away in the ambulance."

"Great! File him under COVID deaths."

25
Block_Helen 25 points ago +25 / -0

Of course it is unwarranted. They are determined to renew the lockdowns and they are happy to lie in order to do it. Abbott shouldn't go along with it.

23
Anwedie 23 points ago +23 / -0

If you go to the hospital for anything they try to admit you, it's all about making money.

11
justforthissubred 11 points ago +11 / -0

6
ThurstonHowell3rd 6 points ago +6 / -0

4

Read a story about a dude's girlfriend in Anaheim who had to go to the emergency room for a cut finger or something. They lied about her having a fever and admitted her and immediately gave her fentanyl. Dude was getting held back by security. They almost killed her and damaged her lungs with the ventilator. Never tested but presumptive was considered positive. They didn't presume she had covid. They gave it to her and tried to kill her. Lawsuits are coming.

AND Governor Abbott is going right along with it, AGAIN.

I am disgusted beyond words with Abbott. He REFUSES to acknowledge the obvious, that the "spike" in COVID positives follows EXACTLY with the protests happening in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. This fact is so glaringly obvious, but his latest EO targets bars and restaurants and makes a nice little carve-out for outdoor gatherings greater than 100 people IF the local governments approve, which certainly THOSE cities governments will approve of protests!

So to be clear, Abbott is blaming normal people for going out to dinner or drinks and completely ignoring the thousands gathering together and screaming in each others' faces (and let's be honest, passing joints around for sure).

I was pissed when Abbott caved to panic and forced businesses to close, that was horrible and I disagreed but then he led the way in opening back up. But since then he has cucked out severely. If he doesn't change this tune ASAP, he's lost my support. If I'm going to be ruled by democrats, I don't want it to be democrats steamrolling my so called republican governor!

5

reeeeee were turning texas blue reeeeeee. This is the worst fucking election year bullshit in the history of the US

11
booblitchutz 11 points ago +11 / -0

Well keeping Texas RED effort is not helped by Abbott and Dan Patrick siding with the rioters, letting the big blue cities host all the riots they want and pointing the finger at the rest of us for the covid cases.

That's some serious bullshit! I'm so pissed at Abbott right now

13
dldeuce 13 points ago +13 / -0

So, now it turns out the gunshot victim is admitted as a Covid hospitalization, and when he dies, he died of covid. Nice! So, therefore, the corollary to this story is that, just like with the flu cases, the homicide rate goes to zero as well. Might as well defund the police then, right?

12
SenditDownrange 12 points ago +12 / -0

COVID-19 hospitalizations there have been on a steady upward track for about the last two weeks...

Right around the time that the looting and burning of cities started. What a freaking coincidence...

7
booblitchutz 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yep and Abbott not only WONT address this, he added a special little carveout in his EO today to protect the rioters. If Dallas or Houston or Austin want to have more big protests, they can bless it and they don't run afowl of his EO.

Fucking bullshit! Fuck Abbott!

But, but, I saw on the internet that an anonymous person that claims to be a nurse works at the hospital in Dallas and their virus area holds 30 people and is full and overflowing. I think either there are a lot of nurse pretenders or nurses are just really egotistical and attention-craving. We are all going to die and it's only because you idiot Drumpf supporters won't wear masks.

Outside of all the comments thanking them for being a "hero on the frontlines" that made me want to throw up, someone asked them why a major hospital in an area of many millions of people couldn't be bothered to better prepare for a virus they've had three months to know about. It was a respectfully written question and downvoted into oblivion and I think eventually removed.

11
UnstableGoat 11 points ago +11 / -0

Healthcare executive leader here - that's about as much I want to identify in doxxville, USA - and I can tell you hospitals are hurting because of the aftermath of COVID and so is our patients' chronic disease management, prevention, etc

There's so much we need to do to both respond to external pressures to meet the "mythical" surge need while also rebounding services that it's tabled a lot of planned progress for things like increasing patient access in the digital age (think price transparency and online scheduling that's more like ordering a pizza then calling call centers and navigating points of access and payor benefits etc).

Also, our physicians are burning out in a totally new way because of this, that many planned initiatives (like CMS 2021 guidelines to reduce physician documentation burnout) have now been jeopardized/paused because we're addressing this panic instead - we've dropped the ball on so many strategic plans and planned improvements.

I'm a recent convert to Trump over the last ~1-2 years, but even when I wasn't a planned trump voter (didnt vote for him in 2016) I can say even when I wasn't fully on board, CMS under his administration was focused on the right things - price transparency, reducing documentation requirements, interoperability, etc. - these things need to get back on track if all these radical governer and state public health dept plans could just be over with already!

Must have been that time you went to the HEB without a mask on you bastard! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!1\

DFW pede here. Sure some of the hospitals in Dallas county are at 70 to 80% capacity (if that's even accurate), but adjoining counties are nowhere near that high. Maybe 5 to 10% so all you have to do is drive 20 miles and all is good.

They are freaking out here because of increased hospitalizations but I think since we're mostly open people are now more comfortable going in earlier, therefore higher numbers.

Death rates don't seem to be climbing as much as hospitalization rates so either people are getting better care of the virus is losing strength.

I'd love to crunch some numbers but I'm on my phone right now. Maybe someone else wants to tackle that for us!

I'm so fed up with this leftist garbage. It's ALL BULLSHIT! Anyone remember "flatten the curve", and "15 days to slow the spread"?

It's been over 4 months now.

Hospitals were never overrun. In fact, they were empty.

They spent over $600 million on field hospitals that were never used. While at the same time, they were sending Wuflu patients to fucking nursing homes!?!

One of these "patients" recorded himself beating the shit out of an elderly man because he's white.

Leftist politicians are terrorists.

These governors sent infected but otherwise healthy patients into nursing homes, while not utilizing the (taxpayer funded) designated field hospitals in order to kill the elderly people so they could boost the deathtoll.

I read about this coming two weeks ago, I wish I could remember where. The crux of the argument was; people are finally getting to go to the hospital for treatment they've been blocked from, everybody/lots of people are getting tested on arrival, therefore lots of people that aren't sick are getting surprise diagnoses of covid. Since they're at a hospital, they're automagically "hospitalized", even though they're there for something unrelated.

I watched the Pence Coronavirus Task Force presser today, and I have to say it was pretty bad. Pence kind of stumbled through it. Deepstater Fauci was alarmist. The CDC guy is deepstate as well. I don't know why they did it, because it wasn't helpful other than to say a majority of new cases are people under the age of 35.

3
Buttfart88 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was sure they were going to be optimistic. But nope, just more doom and gloom

4
Mrsattorney 4 points ago +4 / -0

Frankly, it was awful. Pence was asked a snarky question about the President having rallies while this resurgence in cases is ongoing. Pence stumbled through a very weak answer about the First Amendment, election season, etc. Trump would have ass blasted the reporter with a "Where were you when rioters, looters, and 'protesters' took to the streets?! Nowhere to be found! It's okay to riot, but not to rally. Double standard again!"

VinnysMagicGrits 3 points ago +3 / -0

Any medical doctors in here? Why would anyone put someone who tests positive for COVID-19 be put on a ventilator? Doesn't going on the ventilator give you a less than 10% survival rate? So why doom them?

6
booblitchutz 6 points ago +6 / -0

Not a doctor, but related to one and have had this conversation.

Going on a ventilator is usually a last resort for someone who is dying. When they can't breathe on their own, they are probably going to die.

The ventilator panic has more to do with the population that was dying with COVID than COVID itself, and really was just means to beat up on Trump. Ventilators were never an issue, or lack thereof.

2
ThurstonHowell3rd 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, quite telling that all you heard on the news was "ventilator - ventilator - ventilator) back in March. Now? You never hear about it anymore.

Bringing a medical comment into this.

The metrics to be concerned about are not total cases nor rate of positive cases.

The ones that should raise red flags with viruses (or any diseases state really) are typically:

  1. Death rate (With COVID lag time is around 3-4 weeks from positive or suspicious cases)

  2. Critical rate

As long as these two things do not start escalating beyond capacity there's not much reason to be overly concerned (this is coming from the ID specialist at my hospital). Critical rate is probably the more scary of the two right now, because many more patients are going to be critical (and stay critical for longer) then are those that will rapidly deteriorate to death.

Too many critical cases that overload the system leads to a huge spike in deaths. Right now we should be focused on expanding capacity in whatever way we might need.

Which is why I said in a way that we need, which ID departments (at least at my institution) have clearly laid out what is necessary.

With Gov Cuomo, he seemed to supersede that expert advice and went far beyond what was suggested by available data even in NY's dire case.

Increasing capacity does not always mean build more things. Sometimes it simply means logistical work-around to increase efficiency especially since the treatment for COVID patients is now fairly standardized, and one of the issues was efficiently getting non-critical patients out of the bed and back home.

No fucking shit.

As testing increases, so do counted cases. It says nothing about infection rate or new cases.

The people pushing this Plandemic are literally fucking retarded.

Tell that to the BS Wu Flu task force!

All the hysteria the media causes really makes me question how sacrosanct freedom of the press is, they truly are a problem that needs to be dealt with, heavy regulation, extremely crushing fines for false information etc, something

our governor is still holding his ground saying that it is a marathon and not a sprint - refusing to lock down the state. He says it will get better in a week. Good man. I am glad I voted for him. Now off to the gym :-)

Does anyone if they restarted the hydroxychloroquine tests again, or did that hoax "study" successfully squash a potential treatment?

I think it was squashed. At least two hospitals I know of where my family members are did not even consider hydro.

I am beyond done with this bullshit. The power tripping Judge Hidalgo here in Houston has forced any businesses that will remain open after Abbott is done shutting everything down again to require masks or face fines.

My "Covid 1984" mask is back in usage, and I'll probably be making a Kung-Flu one. I am so sick and tired of this fake garbage getting in the way of me living my life. I have several kids who may or may not actually be getting to go back to school in the fall. How long are people going to stand for this?

My dad was hospitalized in another state recently, ending up in the ICU and on a respirator for a period of time, and they wouldn't let my mom see him or even update her on anything that was going on. She had to call my poor sick dad in his hospital room after they took him off the respirator to get any updates, and she was not able to be there to advocate for him or help him make decisions when he was in a vulnerable state.

WE NEED TO STAND UP TO THIS. Our silence, our compliance is our permission for the oligarchs to continue to stomp on our rights and force us to live as serfs indefinitely. We are accepting the yoke of servitude so quickly and easily, it's sickening to watch.

All right, Texans! Tell our Governor what you think of his closing of the bars and going back to 50% restaurant customers!

Too late! The fear has already taken hold. SHUT IT ALL DOWN.

My pool-boy spontaneously combusted from COVID but said he’d come back to life if Biden wins.
