I called it. Trump keeps his language purposely ambiguous to cause a firestorm

184
couranto 184 points ago +186 / -2

That’s what I told my wife. He nuanced it so as to cause Twitter fools to overreact.

142
censorthisss 142 points ago +144 / -2

It wasn't even nuanced. It was obvious what he meant imo. This was just another case of TDS sufferers taking everything Trump says in the worst way possible.

They will always purposefully misunderstand what he says, not matter how clear it seems to sane people.

31
BitcoinTrump 31 points ago +32 / -1

Yeah I think it shines light on why censorship is so insideous... When others decide how you should be interpreted (rather than your own intention) and regard their own wicked perception as fact, that's scary.

19
mathteach314159 19 points ago +20 / -1

It made me interpret it that way so god damn it was effective. That being said, I figured shooting could mean anywhere from tear gas and rubber bullets to actual firearms if it were necessary to stop the violent mob that is looting and burning down Minneapolis, destroying the communities they care so much about lol

12
alfredbester 12 points ago +12 / -0

I just spent a year and a half building a business that I haven't been able to open because of the virus bullshit. If someone tried to loot this place I would shoot them in a heartbeat.

Looters should be shot.

5
powershellder 5 points ago +5 / -0

I took it to mean don’t loot if you don’t want escalation.

9
supermagafragilistic 9 points ago +9 / -0

And suddenly the whole purpose of their censorship shows itself. Twitter, instead of showcasing the Presidents words much like a giant billboard in space, are now curating his words, like a painting in a museum. His words are supposed to speak for themselves, instead now you have a tour guide in the museum explaining to you what you're about to see before you see it. By the time you see it, you have preconceived notions and you don't even know what he said yet. "Next on our tour, the President threatens to shoot looters", the curtain flings back and there's the tweet, the idea that the President threatened to shoot looters still ringing in your ears as you read it. It's bullshit, and it's exactly what he was talking about the other day during his EO, and it's what T_D has been saying for years.

20
MW23232 20 points ago +20 / -0

I agree. They specialize in pretzel logic. I believe their think tanks stay up at night or operate in shifts, trying to think of a "logical-sounding" way, to their followers anyway, to twist every single think the President or his followers say, to say it means something other than what it means. Like HRC's tweet today. The National Guard is brought in to stop the rioting & looting, before they destroy the city for no good reason. She says the President is "calling for violence against American citizens". And what would she do? The Left NEVER, EVER has a suggestion to help any situation, just criticism.

21

But I'm not suggesting that's what Prez said...or what he meant.

9
DoYouBelieveInMAGA 9 points ago +10 / -1

Clown World when you are just supposed to let people destroy whatever they want. And if you disagree with that sentiment, you're an evil racist. Because, according to that logic, rioting and destruction is how blacks express their anger?

He's saying action a has a consequence of B. Every action has a reaction. Which is why you want to deploy the national guard, especially when people are so angry at the police.

12

18
spezisacuckold 18 points ago +18 / -0

It would still be 100% justified if he meant it the other way. We have laws. The rule of law should be enforced.

12
OrangeFruitGood 12 points ago +12 / -0

To be honest, I thought he did mean it the other way. And I also thought he was right about that, too.

If a group is committing what is essentially domestic terrorism, then it's common sense for law enforcement to shoot them down. Don't know what else to say.

5
LoveFreedom 5 points ago +5 / -0

I though the same. I was like "Oh snap, he's done playin'." I mean he did just finally take action against big tech. And he didn't say people were going to be shot. Military was firing off some high powered rifles after they showed up around 4AM. Probably warning shots, but they were shooting, so......

7

The man knows what he is doing at is absolutely blows my mind media still has not yet realized it. Trump for years has been saying whatever he can to keep all attention on him, he knows how to hang the bait and the media and lefties just cant help but snap at the bait like a starving dog to a steak.

I have been telling lefties even before the election: If you dont want Trump to get elected, stop giving him billions of dollars of free advertising. They never learned, and the only thing I hear day in and day out is "Trump this, Trump that, Trump did this and you should feel angry, etc"

Did they forget the saying "There is no such thing as bad publicity"? You can cry wolf for only so long before people see the bullshit.

4
day221 4 points ago +4 / -0

There is no evidence that it's "on purpose". He speaks off the cuff, thinks out loud, etc. Naturally when people do that they say things that are "ambiguous".

An honest media would ask for clarification if they were confused - instead they assume the worst and just run with it 100%. They use this tactic to create division and ultimately obtain more power for themselves. The principle of charity, golden rule, etc. - these mean nothing to these people. They truly are the enemy.

Now we know why politicians are so fake all the time. You can't be honest and say what you think in the face of a disingenuous media. When people are held to an impossible standard, only the liars can survive. I used to think we wanted genuine politicians (since we always complain about how fake they are). Apparently though more than half the population doesn't want solutions, they just want to be mad.

4
MAGAmanXXL 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's a brilliant strategy tbh. The resulting firestorm is like a bright flame for moths. It invites all the cowards and race traitors in our society to expose themselves. Taylor Swift is only one of many to have fallen for this.

3
WhoFlu 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hahaha, he's such a troll! I mean that in the jokster-sense of the term.

He's absolutely right, about when the looting starts, the shooting starts. I've started shopping for a gun, and am glad I'm in a state where you are allowed to protect yourself and property with violence, and without retreat.

3
lifeisahologram 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think you are right, but I don't think that specific tweet was ambiguous or vague personally. I think it means exactly what it means, once looting begins, shooting follows. You are probably right he does this normally to expose the left, but this particular case, I think he just said a factual, plain statement, and the left exposed themselves for being sociopaths with TDS.

I would hope that most people here realize that Floyd died by his own hands by now... He swallowed some kind of drugs that he had on him at the time so the cops wouldn't find it. He died 90 minutes after that video was filmed. Even if the cop didn't have his knee on his neck, he would've died.

Thought you guys were smart and cared about the truth, guess not... fine, be outraged for no reason like the retards on the left.

9
Nonocon 9 points ago +10 / -1

You are welcome. This part is my opinion, I also don't think the officer put that much pressure on his neck. If you look at the video, the officer looks like he is putting most, if not all, of the pressure on his right knee. The knee not on his neck.

Thanks. It says he likely died from a combination of health problems, drugs, and the cops on top of him. They didn't choke him but they could have cut off blood circulation to his head. And he stopped moving and they couldn't find a pulse but yet they stayed on top of him for 2 or 3 more minutes. The cops still fucked up.

are you going to believe some thugs over the training of a PROFESSIONAL POLICE OFFICER?

3
amacfa 3 points ago +5 / -2

I’m going to remain centrist and not cast judgment until all the details are out. The dude could have killed himself with drugs, or one of the cops drugged him.

Either way, unless there is a video footage of him overdosing willingly, it’s all conjecture. We don’t know what happened in that precinct. Yet.

1
ADAM_SCHITT 1 point ago +2 / -1

The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.

He wasn't being choked (that was obvious from the video) but kneeling on the neck could have cut off blood flow to his head. And why didn't they get off him after he stopped moving and breathing?

0
magadom 0 points ago +1 / -1

he shouldn't have been breaking the law and resisting

1
ADAM_SCHITT 1 point ago +1 / -0

And they also shouldn't have killed him.

7
culpfiction 7 points ago +8 / -1

Your links do not show he swallowed drugs to hide it from the police. The examiner's initial finding say potentially intoxicating substances but do not prove he was under the influence of anything.

Additionally the other officer was concerned about asphyxiation and they found no pulse two minutes before relieving the knee from his neck.

If you have other corroborating information please share.

2
Nonocon 2 points ago +4 / -2

This was the complaint from the family against him, of course it wouldn't include that. This is just the most official thing I could find, I'll look and see if I can find anything else though.

2
krzyzowiec 2 points ago +2 / -0

Aha sorry have to update you now. Autopsy’s been done, and the preliminary report is out.

Neither strangulation nor asphyxiation caused his death. He may have been intoxicated, but the full report is not out yet.

2
gabwinone 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you for the info and the link. This will be explosive...if the final autopsy report actually exonerates the cop!

4
Rusty_Shackleford 4 points ago +4 / -0

The document you linked to says that "any potential intoxicants in his system" may have contributed to his death. It does not say they found intoxicants in his system. Why aren't they specific about what they found? It should be easy to determine whether he had anything in his blood or not.

Also, it doesn't say he died 90 minutes later. It says they checked his pulse on the scene when he stopped moving and "couldn't find one." It also says he was "pronounced dead" at the hospital they took him to, not that he died there.

4
Nonocon 4 points ago +4 / -0

The toxicology report hasn't been released and I'm honestly not sure if it ever will be released. The city is clearly on the side of the family. As for why it doesn't say, this is the official complaint against the officer from the family.

"Police called EMTs around 8:30 p.m. and they arrived in six minutes to find an unconscious and unresponsive Floyd, according to Hennepin County Healthcare EMS Chief Marty Scheerer. Paramedics and police eventually flipped Floyd over while he was still cuffed, placed him on a gurney and into an ambulance, where a responder released his hands. Their decision to “load and go,” rather than triage Floyd on the spot, was likely based on their race against time, Scheerer said, adding that responders were likely unaware of how severe the situation had become. Despite medical officials reportedly spending an hour trying to revive Floyd, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 9:25 p.m."

Unless the drugs themselves actively killed the man while the cops where arresting him, or turned what would have been nonlethal actions into lethal, the cop should still be tried for murder IMO. Neck pinning is specifically trained to NOT be done though, as it can be very harmful to deadly to the person being pinned. https://youtu.be/SgghI3WPSLw

Do I think the riots are dumb? Yes. Their are even sources showing that most of the rioters are from out of the cities the riots are happening in. Tim Pool, who may be a fence sitter but isn't a liar, said he their where videos of locals forming a body wall with locked arms to protect their town.

Do i think it was a race issue that caused the death? No. Cops in another town did the same thing to another guy, but he was white. I think those cops should have been tried, but they where not. Do I think something is even being done about it because people are making it a race issue? Yes. https://thedonald.win/p/Fg3CesDR/when-a-white-guy-was-killed-by-p/c/

Oh yeah, I've seen it a lot. I can't even comprehend the degree of hubris which convinces people that they're better qualified to interpret someone else's words than the person who actually said them. It's really a mind-boggling level of narcissism. It's even more worrisome that social media publishers are taking consequential action against people based on someone else's analysis of their own language. It doesn't matter what you meant, if somebody else finds it offensive then their opinion is given a higher status - so much so that you can actually be punished for motives you never really had - and that is a truly disturbing collapse of free speech.

Hey guys, I’m off the trump train because Taylor Swift just tweeted that trump is a white supremacist and saying he’s going to shoot looters.

Shit me too then. Taylor Swift should replace GW on Mount Rushmore.

12

That's so funny. "Shooting looters", is interpreted by Taylor Swift as "shooting blacks". Hmmm...who is making assumptions about who the looters are?

I can't help but think the un-controlled cesspool that was youtube and every other comment section on the internet in the mid 2000s, wasn't intentionally created to make people beg for censorship.

4
OrangeFruitGood 4 points ago +4 / -0

I've been an internet regular since around the early-mid 00's. I've gotta say that with the explosion of social media in the late 00's including the likes of Twitter and Facebook, the internet has not been nearly as good as it used to be.

2
try4gain 2 points ago +2 / -0

100% agree. I think it really went downhill after iphone got big and everyone got 3G data.

now you got high school kids posting from school , telling everyone they are dumb and how the world really works.

46
NoatakTheWiser 46 points ago +46 / -0

Trump is a fucking mastermind lmao. He sets up the tweet that people would complain about by reeeeing out "OH HE WANTS TO GUN DOWN PROTESTORS" but then he Geotuspills them on how some of the rioters were even shooting themselves. Even I bit my lip a little thinking that maybe that tweet was a bit too much, but then he completely contextualizes it in his favor to catch the hypocrites that don't care about the rioters shooting other people in the protests. Legend.

22
incogneato 22 points ago +22 / -0

He was also trolling Twitter and just daring them to flag/censor it.

16

19
thisguy883 19 points ago +19 / -0

These type of women aren't the women you bring home to mother.

Most of these women are losers themselves, otherwise they would smarten up and find a real man who will stick around, provide, and take responsibility. But social media and gov gibs have destroyed that for most women. They are just as pathetic and useless as the idiots flashing money and guns all over Facebook / Twitter.

4

1
flashersenpai 1 point ago +1 / -0

22
DatNewbChemist 22 points ago +23 / -1

Who would've ever guessed that a group of rioters smiling while burning a police precinct to the ground would also likely engage in shooting and murdering innocent people if enforcement didn't step in? It was pretty obvious to he was saying that we need to nip this in the bud before things get even more out of hand.

13
thisguy883 13 points ago +13 / -0

I mean they were kidnapping women in the streets right in front of everyone.

Cops aren't going to be there to save these people.

4

Which is why even though Trump didn't mean it that way, rioters who are acting the least bit violent should be shot. It would stop the riot and save lives. And this is how it used to be handled!

This is especially true with paranoia regarding racism. "That guy was a complete dick to me...must be racist." When really most of the world is shitty. People are shitty. To quote Bill Barr we're all out here eating a shit sandwich. It's similar to when a church goer tells someone they are being rude to them so they're facing persecution. No, the world just sucks. People aren't nice. Everyone goes through life getting treated like crap by at least some people.

4

I think it was a trap he set for them, now he’s boasting that the fell in the trap

3
Cyer6 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes. He should never apologize or try to "explain" what he really meant to them. If he's asked about it later, then all he needs to say is "People tend to get shot during riots and looting. It can be from other citizens, police or even guardsmen. I wanted people not to put themselves in that situation. That's all I have to say."

9
Tonightm01 9 points ago +10 / -1

The riots are being planned and supported by the far left.

Nothing to do with anyones death at the end of the day. The far left just wants to cause chaos. It's already known many of the people rioting in the area are not from there.

They have bused in Antifa terrorists.

4
Cyer6 4 points ago +4 / -0

I wouldn't expect this to end anytime soon. They want to show black people being shot by military personnel. It'll be a Kent State type of narrative that they'll use and try to separate black and other minority voters from siding with Trump. These people are going all in now. Be ready for more because their CV scamdemic has fallen flat and the Dems look like complete tyrants and incompetent leaders to average Americans. Trump came out unscathed and they need him to make a critical mistake between now and election day.

2
jewishtrumpsupporter 2 points ago +2 / -0

The thing that sucks is that a lot of the narrative still trying to say hes lying is not only that he waited so long to make the correction but specifically that he had a televised thing at 2PM and didnt mention it there. Like I said he should have addressed this first thing when he woke up and it would have corrected a lot of the damage. Especially with people claiming it started from some racist narrative in Miami in 1968. He waited too long IMO but its still better than nothing

1
thegeebeebee 1 point ago +1 / -0

And also, they'll lie about and twist anything he says. I agree that concision would help him to a great degree. Say less, do more. The liars are funded with billions, they have access to millions of minds. Trump has a lot of Twitter followers, but it isn't always as effective as the liar media at getting a message out.

He needs to be influencing leaders, building up the next generation and let people like Grennell and Fitton kick ass and take names.

Drug warrant being served ended up with a lady shot to death with no explanation for why her house was targeted, why she was shot...

So people took to the streets. But then someone had a beef with someone else, so he had to start shooting.

Really great way to take an issue, shit on it and prevent the root cause from being fixed as everyone focuses on the violent aftermath.

Looting leads to shooting, and that’s why a man was shot and killed in Minneapolis on Wednesday night - or look at what just happened in Louisville with 7 people shot. I don’t want this to happen, and that’s what the expression put out last night means....

In Trump's case it's entirely credible that he meant exactly this, and didn't realize the statement connecting looting with shooting originated as a threat from law enforcement to prevent Miami race riots in the 60s

It's also entirely credible that he meant both exactly this and the original meaning simultaneously, as he often (intentionally and with great precision and unmatched skill) communicates on multiple levels at once

3
sagebrushfire 3 points ago +3 / -0

IDGAF how he meant it and frankly, if he meant it as “looters/criminals will be killed,” more power to him. Tired of how weak this country has become. I watched as a cucked, bitch ass mayor told his police force to run away and allow the station to be destroyed. I saw as police with nightsticks stood around doing NOTHING with said sticks. It doesn’t take a person to study crisis situations to see the fucking difference between a person marching and holding a sign in protest to a person with a bandana on their face, smashing open a Target cash register. Wild animals that attack or are out of control should be put down, period. Fuck em and fuck how fucking weak the people in this country have become.

Yeah, and if the rioters move their looting and fire starting to residential areas I would think people would defend their family and home. I can’t imagine people see a mob outside their house with torches flaming and just say “Okay, we’ll come out so you can steal all of our belongings and then torch the place”. You, too. I don't feel cranky but I don't have a Snickers.

Just out of curiosity, first he needed a snickers, then he needed caffine. What would have been your third recommendation? A power nap? Nintendo Switch?

It’s about being on the record with Trump, not about the amount of leeway the FAKE NEWS gives him.

Trump is actually much more even-handed, even-tempered, and flexible than people give him credit for. He often takes nuanced positions, he often takes an unexpected position, and he often sees and explains both sides. In many way this whole image of him bullishly stomping around demanding his own way is just a media-created illusion.

Backtracking is bad when a politician is bending a knee to an unjust mob, but backtracking for legitimate reasons, or when new information becomes available, is not only fine, but a sign of maturity and wisdom. And explaining or clarifying is only bad when it’s used in desperation, to frantically try to fix a faux pas or cover up a mistake. The way Trump does it is clear and to the point. “I did not mean this, I meant that.” Again, it’s all in the way it is done.

Trump is also smart to put these misinterpretations out early. If he takes the Bush approach and just goes silent, refusing to dignify the claim because it is beneath him, then all that does is give the misinterpretation energy. His enemies will continue to pick and pick and pick on that point until there is a response. Then this leaves all of his supporters uncoordinated in their response. We would have to all speculate about what was meant. By coming out and clarifying, all of Trump’s supporters coalesce around that explanation and we are able to respond to the left as a unified force. This also takes the steam out of the left’s hysterical speculations, where they just amp themselves up until they become more and more ridiculous. Don’t be surprised if this looting comment becomes old news sooner rather than later because Trump nipped it in the bud early.

I agree

Rioters are burning down the city. The authorities and private citizens defending themselves would be completely justified in using force

It goes well when you are explaining for future lawsuits.

What lawsuit? No interpretation of what he said would be illegal under the first amendment?

3
Staatssicherheit 3 points ago +3 / -0

Exactly. There was no real reason under section 230 to moderate Trump's post. Other than political animus. If they don't react to this tweet by removing their moderation on the other tweet, it just shows how much in bad faith twitter is acting.
