Yup, and none of those are flagged for 'violent content'

16

I don’t have twitter - but can’t users flag content?

17
ChelseaHubbell 17 points ago

They can report it but it's up to the Twitter team to take action

10
nachosamplerREBORN 10 points ago

I would have thought that x amount would trigger something - but if it’s up to Twitter it’s probably a waste of time. No wonder the violent rhetoric persists on that content provider.

Which they coincidentally never seem to against their own side. Surely just a coincidence! Really makes you think...

time for more Twitter regulations.

jack dorsey is pissed at trumps executive order and trying to push trump

sign another- mr President. make it even stricter

32
sun_wolf 32 points ago

Dorsey and his foreign-owned corporation should have played it cool and not continued to censor the President of the United States, but he’s been given his marching orders by his handlers. His handlers are all foreigners though so they actually have zero instinctual understanding of the independent American spirit. They think this is a win because they’ve asserted this minor level of control, but they have no idea how distasteful this is to Americans. Censoring the President of the United States? These people are stupid!

Jack Dorsey is the kid on the playground who after losing a game, decides it’s his ball so he’s taking his ball and going home. And nobody fucking likes that kid. You played yourself Dorsey. You are the kid who takes his ball and goes home.

Censoring the President of the United States? These people are stupid!

This is really extraordinary. They are begging for extreme action to be taken against them. Almost like they want it to happen. I hope DJT crushes Twitter like a bug, but if he does, the next thing we can look forward to is "LITERALLY HITLER" and "MUH FREE SPEECH" from the left. As though they care about those things.

I don't see anyone defending the cop who used excessive force. But looting as a retaliation for this is completely unacceptable

27
MakeWorldGreatAgain 27 points ago (edited)

Indeed. Not to mention breaking in to a police station and setting it on fire. Seems like something that might happen in 3rd world countries or middle-east, not in the U.S.

Edit: as an afterthought - imagine if those based armed patriots, who were protecting the stores earlier, showed up at the police station saying "we heard you guys need help here protecting this property".

34
vote_for_MAGA_2020 34 points ago

Remember when a bunch of armed white people stormed the Virginia capitol building, and no one was shot, no buildings were burned, and everyone went home peacefully at the end of the day? Remember when the same thing happened at the Michigan capitol building? White people armed, no one shot, nothing burned?

Remember when no one rioted and looted their neighborhoods when Justine Damond was murdered by a black Somali immigrant cop?

27
Afrikaner_Vrystaat 27 points ago

the only people arrested were people trying to defend their property from looters because the state wouldn't. That should tell you everything you need to know about this shithole of a city.

8

Good lord do they ever not want to get their way with that.

They obviously don't know how easy it would be to bring every lib city to its knees in days.

Cut off the food, water, and power going into the cities and shoot 'em as they flee each other.

Remember Sandy? Crippled NYC. Could cut LA off by taking out a handful of power junctions, freeway bridges, and rail lines. I could do it with a single company of engineers in one hour.

5
Captain_Triips 5 points ago

or the truckers could just refuse to make food deliveries

The potato revolution is a sign that food emergencies no longer only happen to desperately poor people in faraway and desolate areas of Africa and Asia. Food emergencies have become as globalized as everything else.

When British farmers and truckers, outraged by fast-rising gas taxes, blockaded delivery of oil trucks in the fall of 2000. On day one of the blockade, there was a panic buying at gas stations. On day two, panic buying spread to supermarkets. On day three, panic turned ugly, provoking a sound bite heard around the world.

Civilization is only “nine meals away from anarchy,” said the head of the UK’s Countryside Agency, Lord Cameron of Dillington. The Lord liked the statement so much that he repeated it in 2007, again to widespread media coverage, warning that on day three, “there will be rats, mayhem, and maybe even murder.”

Now stores only hold have days worth of food

2

Reddit threads are full of “does this moment feel revolutionary to you?” And “let the people seize power” — from the very people they voted in?!? The core of liberalism truly is the absence of consistency coupled with a binary reactionism.

1
ClownTamer 1 point ago

A better way to put it is postmodernism. All they do is flip tables/value structures and attack people. Women don’t work as much as men? ATTACK MEN! Men don’t like being attacked? ATTACK THEM FOR NOT LIKING BEING ATTACKED! Women stand up for men being attacked? ATTACK THE SUSAN CROW WOMEN!!! SJW women eventually get fed up with women being attacked too and realize working sucks sometimes? ATTACK YOURSELF!!!!

It’s consistent if you view it that way. If they did gain power and enact socialism, putting the societal collapse aside, they’d then attack that, assuming they didn’t go down with the ship saying “well AXUALLY, comrades, this wasn’t really socialism, either....” They’re remarkably consistent when you see them for what they believe and what they are.

It’s a 5 year old’s mentality. “Do you want to eat Broccoli, Susie?” “NO!!!!!!! NO BROCCOLI!!!” “Okay. I’m going to eat this broccoli because it will help keep me healthy and strong. It’s pretty good too. You can’t have any though! This broccoli is special, just for me.” “NOOOOO!!!!! I WANT SOME!!! THAT’S MY BROCCOLI!!!”

Men and women are different? NOOO!! GENDER ISN’T REAL. Guys dressed as girls are now girls? NOOOO!!! GENDER IS REAL NOW.

The problem isn't winning the war. The problem is that a war is just what the ones puling the strings want. They'll use that as the justification to push globalist rule by all means - including violent overthrow of the US government.

They may get what they want, and you know what will happen? They'll cower and cry for compromise the moment they realize just how much they screwed up.

And then we will lose, because the majority of conservatives in America will knuckle under to the calls for compassion and mercy (most likely being made by the deepest of shills among them).

You don't kill cancer by giving it a second chance.

For now...

58
PurestEvil 58 points ago

I am a Libertarian knothead. Twitter is a propaganda machinery and needs to go down. They enjoy special protections from the government, and that needs to stop.

They should decide if they are a publisher - and therefore editorialize their content, thus have dominion over ALL the content, or if they are a platform and exert no control over the content besides removing spam and speech deemed illegal (death threats, call for violence). And they have NO place in deciding who they offer their platform to or not, it's for everybody. It's up to the USERS to hold dominion over the content, that also means upvoting and downvoting.

OR: They should be forced to be transparent, and declare that they are a leftist/socialist/Marxist/neo-Marxist platform, who actively discriminate against dissidence. If they are a platform for ALL, then they may NOT pull shit like that. In fact, they might not even be allowed to benefit one group over another.

I mean, if I created a Libertarian social media forum and explicitly mention the forum's opposition to communism - communists should not complain about getting censored or discriminated against. The rules are exposed. They agreed to participate despite knowing that. Just look at the rules on the right side here - that's an ideal way to present them.

And the easy solution is this: Every person who receives negative actions from the site (bans) is able to sue the company for damages or compensation or to stop the infringement. Then you get precedence and their behavior changes.

Another ruling should be that vague phrases like "hate speech" are taken by its meaning. That means, everybody who expresses speech that can be attributed to "hate" can be subject of being banned - that includes all the leftists who spew hateful comments all over the place. There is an obligation to enforce the rules equally to users - otherwise it's evident it's an act of editorilizing, and rendering the site a publisher, stripping them off the protections. How that can be determined is by looking at patterns. If it's arbitrary, fine. If it's clearly directed against certain groups like non-leftists, It's evidence.

However all of this can result in a bureaucratic mess. But you know what? Big Tech deserves this. To hell with them.

If anything, one should consider if liability for online speech should be a thing at all, given that you can't enforce anything beyond nation's borders, and that anonymity is a thing. You can only the rules the person is living in. Maybe there should be something where people can enable accountability for certain speech - meaning only when it is enabled, it means the person holds himself liable for what is said. The media should be encouraged to do it, otherwise people could just think it's non-serious garbage.

Any news media calling itself trustworthy should do it, any journalist. It should be something like "being held accountable for your word." Maybe it's reasonable, maybe it's not. Maybe plastering the stuff you say with disclaimers is the way to go... which is annoying. But maybe when somebody says "we have certain proof that X committed Y" and it is infused with standing to the word - and it turns out it was LIE (intentional misinformation), you can be sued for some sort of smear or fraud.

9
deleted 9 points ago

But maybe when somebody says "we have certain proof that X committed Y" and it is infused with standing to the word - and it turns out it was LIE (intentional misinformation), you can be sued for some sort of smear or fraud.

The fake news media, for the most part, can and are being held liable. Just look at the Covington defamation case where CNN was practically forced to settle, or the literal hundreds of retractions that Project Veritas has gotten out of the fake news media.

Social media however is currently shielded from such liability because of abusing section 230, that needs to end and hopefully will end given Twitter seems content to keep being political fuckwits.

13
WinnerPlaysTCU 13 points ago

I mean I appreciate the idea. I think “if you don’t like it just leave it” is a conservative person’s mindset just in general, as opposed to all this cancel culture/burn down your city stuff from the other side. Unfortunately now a days we are running out of places to move. We have to win on their turf if we are going to take in the normies. I think Trump will win because I’ve never met a “former” Trump supporter while i know personally a number of people who have come around since 2016. But not even my most pro-Trump friends are on this site for example. Trumps voice has to remain on their sites to pull in people

9
VoterIDMatters 9 points ago

“If you don’t like it just leave it” is a LOSERmindset. That is why conservatives have lost so much. Time to take it back. Fight.

5
Dirk_Diggler 5 points ago

You are right, eventually we are going to have to make a stand. With the way we are being censored, this would be the equivalent of being colored and saying "We aren't going to give those 'whites only' places our business/money." Eventually, we are going to have to fight for our rights to sit at the front of the bus on these platforms.

1
VoltronGreen1981 1 point ago

So you are saying you don't want any actual competition for these censorship happy platforms? The only thing that might actually get them to stop their bullshit?

I say fuck Twitter. I hope the company collapses and Jack Dorsey is panhandling. Let the next platform rise to take its place and learn from Twitter's idiocy.

7
Amaroq64 7 points ago

I think the opposite would happen. If he went to another platform, that platform would instantly become a major competitor because people would flock to it in droves to engage in free speech with the president.

3

1
Fireark 1 point ago

This doesn't matter if Twatter is actively censoring his tweets. Normies and centrists will see the message that it has been censored, and get scared away. They won't investigate further, or in any way try to inform themselves.

2
russianbot4673 2 points ago

i think something being censored can actually draw people to want to see what it is. not saying i'm glad twitter is doing this now but i bet that tweet of trump gets looked at a lot.

1
Fireark 1 point ago

If nothing else, it will certainly bring attention to the issue.

1
DarkMemeDuck 1 point ago

How many people inform themselves these days anyway? We got into this mess specifically because no one was informing themselves.

1
russianbot4673 1 point ago

well and it's not just that, but a lot of what trump does on twitter is when he amplifies someone else's message by retweeting. he wouldn't be able to do that on another platform. unless everyone else left with him.

13
4218 13 points ago

Lol what the actual fuck is up with us just leaving platforms. Stay and fucking fight. We’re not fucking pussies. You get banned, who gives a fuck. Since when do patriots run and leave a platform after being bullied

13
Amaroq64 13 points ago

This philosophy needs to be applied to the states themselves too.

No letting them turn red states blue and then running to another red state so they can mass up and come turn that blue too.

We need to take back blue states and remake them red. Then we need to be proud of the western culture of freedom and push for an empire of freedom around the world, until there's no more tyrants left to drive us into this position again.

One of the best things we can do is take back the cities. Giuliani did it in NY, so it's not like it's impossible. If we controlled Minneapolis neither the cop nor the rioters would have lasted three seconds.

8

That's what happened with T_D. The quarantine didn't work, pedes were still posting. Eventually, they shut it down through a change of admin.

Only valid reason Trump leaves twatter is jack takes over his account.

5

Yup, we got fucked at T_D. But, we were not suppose to leave. We have to back Kate!

2
VoltronGreen1981 2 points ago

So you want these sites to be the only ones in the game? Just more of a reason for them to fuck whoever they want over. It's not about running to another platform, it's about taking the community as a whole, regardless of what political ideology, and moving it over to something superior, so sites like Twitter can collapse and go bankrupt.

y'all need to stop being fucking bitches and running at the first sign of censorship. I still go to reddit every day to drop red pills and call people out for their bullshit. If no one does it their echo chamber only gets stronger and they get wildly more cult like

Trump said why he uses twitter, it's because the MSM won't report the facts. It's SUPER important, and no everyone won't just follow, twitter will literally throw a #trumpisoverparty and celebrate their echo chamber can live on in peace

Stop. fucking. running. The more they censor, the more you fight back, make them regret it

Imagine if instead of Rosa Parks fighting back, she just stopped riding the bus. Things don't change by being a submissive bitch

i actually like this move by twitter. if trump is bluffing then we see his bluffing and he is exposed (not something to be happy with but at least we'll have the truth).
if trump is not bluffing however, we get to see him put his foot down - hard. i've been feeling some of that classic 2015-16 energy starting up so i hope we see trump take control of things. all of these people really need to be put in their place. i haven't been this excited about news in a while.

24
Carry_Your_Name 24 points ago

He will act, don't doubt that. This man is known for the fulfillment of his promises. Jack Dorsey made a stupid move that will get him into big trouble. Even Suckerberg recognized that and condemned him for the fake checking, even though fakebook has been doing the same thing. Suckerberg is just smart enough to know to not openly challenge the president like this, but Jack Dorsey is too arrogant to see that.

13
America_No_1 13 points ago

I think Jack was already on his way out and that will be the cover if Trump brings down the hammer - "It was all Jack and we got rid of him sorry!" Type of thing

15
Carry_Your_Name 15 points ago

If he was smart, he would censor the tweet about the Morning Schmoe murder speculation rather than a legitimate prediction of mail in voter fraud. In contrast, Trump was very smart with that tweet. Ben Sharpiro was perplexed and he trashed Trump for that, others assumed that this was just his retaliation against Morning Schmoe, but now you can see that this was his baiting strategy, as it turned out that nothing happened to the Joe Schmoe conspiracy tweet, while the mail in vote tweet was fake checked. Trump just proved that Twatter went after him out of political bias.

1
Southern_Belle 1 point ago

Yeah, I don't get Jack's strategy.

He went after the voter fraud tweet by "fact-checking" it wrong. Replaced the truth with propaganda.

But you're right -- it did provide evidence that they only care about political stuff and must protect the mail-in voting fraud.

I love the Psycho Joe stuff.

We had a murderer in congress. How many more have we had...or do we have now?

Is Adam Schiff a murderer?

Put his foot down how? He's directing the FCC to draft regulations. That takes months to occur because the Administrative Procedures Act requires a long notice and comment period. They publish the proposed regs and the public and various groups get to comment on them. Then the agency passes the final rule. Six months minimum.

8

What is there to draft? The regulation already exists, it just isn't being enforced.

I'm on a watchlist. Not even kidding about that. Side effect of having been in the military with a high clearance at some point. You might be on one too, as a Trump supporter, and that's kind of become the establishments problem. A watchlist is only useful if it's kept small. When over half the country is on it, it kind of loses its purpose.

0
WeinerLapTop 0 points ago

No, it doesnt.

1
America1stAndOnly 1 point ago

That was a riveting counterpoint you made there with a lot of in depth analysis. Sarcasm aside, I'll explain it to you again. A watchlist is only useful as long as you can remain vigilant about those who are on the list. When that becomes impossible, the watchlist becomes worthless.

sun_wolf 6 points ago

Just be cautious. These flakey guys don’t really get it and are willing to flip over the most irrelevant nonsense. If the dude says something normal, that’s fine. If he really nails something, give him a light pat on the head. But once someone shows they cannot be trusted, don’t build them up into someone who could potentially sway a lot of people if they were told by their handlers to flip.

This is, I think, one of the reasons Jordan Peterson lost so many fans. He went flakey, got in bed with Hollywood and CAA and a lot of other creeps and weirdos, then his connections to John Podesta came out, he flipped on Kavanaugh - at a key moment in the battle between truth and lies - and that was it. All the smart people who made up his fan base realized they needed to be very very cautious with Peterson. We may still appreciate some of the things he has said, but now we know that Jordan Peterson is not someone you want to go into war with. He goes flakey at the moment of truth.

1
rooftoptendie 1 point ago

WHAT!!!????!?! Where WAS i that i didn't hear any of this shit! All I knew was he went flaky, then dissappeared to russia to do some experimental treatment to get off his meds. And that's all I heard. Good God, I don't usually miss big shit like that. This is what happens when I walk away from my 'board for a week.

2
sun_wolf 2 points ago

People are just a little disappointed in Jordan Peterson so I don’t think anyone likes to talk about him. Owen Benjamin, Vox Day, and I believe E. Michael Jones went pretty hard against him and made some very persuasive arguments, breaking down a lot of early indicators that the guy wasn’t exactly the hero he was made out to be, and that he was peddling an intentionally distorted version of Christianity. The Podesta connection is suspect but not necessarily a dealbreaker - Peterson was involved with I believe the United Nations working on a team with Podesta on some globalist agenda back in the ‘90s. So he has floated in these circles for awhile. But it was the Kavanaugh tweet that really made people cautious. I don’t like slamming the guy too much though because maybe he is more tormented than he is evil.

1
rooftoptendie 1 point ago

THANK YOU for that info, after the press conference, im gonna go check all this stuff out. I had heard JP give talks where he discusses the UN, and i've also heard him give a talk about why he thinks j00s make up higher echelons of power due to a higher average iq.

I dont know what to make of him either. Some of the stuff he says is so important and profound, but then how can you really take all this stuff seriously when you know he's doped up on psych meds. It would seem like someone who knows as much as he knows would not be mixed up with psych meds. Or the UN.

btw, i pissed someone off in another thread this morning and they donvoted a whole page of my comments, so i know you didnt do the downvote ;) It was stupid too, all I said was that I like it when people cross post from chans. Apparently that was a bad thing to say, kek. MAGA!!!

Even with a court order....how can the government stop Twitter without shutting down the internet?

There is no one place to raid....and every facility is an IT fortress commingled with data and services of other companies.

Physical Reality....Twitter can not be stopped.

17
Mashiki 17 points ago

Revoke 230 protections, and they're no longer protected from liability. They'll sink under the weight of lawsuits.

3
NocturnalPatrol 3 points ago

Apparently, that's up to Congress.

We're fucked.

1
Mashiki 1 point ago

If there's a crushing defeat of dems? Nope. It can also be routed through the courts bypassing congress, if the DOJ is sneaky enough.

2
ianpatrick1966 2 points ago

Have a judge order that twitter provide their root PKI certificates private keys, and issue a contempt of court charge and go and arrest the CEO and all the board and every senior leader of twitter until the key is turned over.

Then plenty of other things can be done under contempt of court as well:

Cut the power to the hosting centers and cut the fuel as well. The data centers who host Twitter can get their power and fuel back when they certify that they've removed Twitter from their data center.

Target the .COM registry to turn over twitter.com like they do with piracy websites.

Require the payment processors of Apple and Google to drop them until the respective app stores delist any Twitter apps...

It could be done very easily. Yesterday, I was concerned Trump went to far in the EO. This is an absolute war. We must obliterate the enemy.

2
sun_wolf 2 points ago

I am wondering if we could declare Twitter a service instead of a website, and then break them apart into two or more companies under anti-trust legislation already on the books. Right now we seem to treat every website as if they are the same, when that’s not really how it works. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube - these sites are not really the same as some dude’s personal blog or some recipe site. These really are closer to a unique service of which they are the only provider. Imagine if all of our tweets and followers were legally redefined as our own property, and all Twitter provides is a service allowing us to access that content. But there could be other companies that also provide access to that same content. So then if one person really likes to see their friends and neighbors being censored, they could use Jack Dorsey’s Twitter access platform, but if they prefer a more open forum, they could use someone else’s Twitter access platform. Then it all comes down to competition: whose Twitter site loads the fastest, whose Twitter site has the nicest design, whose Twitter site keeps the annoying ads to a minimum, etc.? These CEOs would lose all their censorship power and would be reduced to a bunch of nerds doing our bidding, trying to make US - the customers - happy for a change.

Really Twitter? Minneapolis is on fire right now. Trash and debris litter the streets. The police have abandoned the third precinct. The “protestors” are stealing mail trucks and flipping them over and lighting them on fire. They’ve destroyed Target. Arby’s. Aldi. Dollar Tree and numerous small, independent businesses. Over 170 businesses trashed. Graffiti everywhere. Widows smashed. Glass littering the sidewalks. And Twitter is concerned Trump’s tweet glorifies violence? Mayor Frey where are you? Governor Walz where are you? Where are our police? Where is the National Guard? This is not a protest. This isn’t about justice. This is about destruction and tearing our city down. It is disgraceful that no one is leading in Minneapolis right now.

It is so bad in Minneapolis right now that our local news media has stopped reporting from the scenes.

When order totally breaks down people get shot. Sending in the national guard will obviously reduce the chances of people getting shot at because they'll bring things back to order. It's totally warped to interpret this as POTUS threatening to shoot looters.

Time to put the wheels to the road on this EO. Let's see how these elitist assholes like being publishers instead of platforms. @jack literally just doubled down on his idiocy. President Trump will not back down from this challenge.

Lord I hope this is what ends the cesspool that is Twitter.

12
Donald17 12 points ago

I literally went to check it. I didn't believe, thought it was kind of shitpost flair :) kathy griffin can tweet death wishes, right?

11
stoic_troll 11 points ago

If they can burn a police station to the ground and leave all the glorifyingly violent leftist posts up, then we need to sue Twitter out of existence. I support any and all antitrust action against Twitter. I think they should be held culpable for inciting violence in Minneapolis.

11
Click 11 points ago

Yup, Twitter is censoring President Trump hard.

Sue the shit out of them. Fuck these damn leftist pieces of shit who run Twitter and other social media companies.

8
pursuitoftruth1776 8 points ago

That's not glorifying violence that's openly condemning it. Only leftists could try to brainwash people into thinking he meant when looters start we shoot. What he, of course meant was when looting starts those looters get shot or start shooting others

He should not move from Twitter but keep showing them why they need to try and censor him, because what he does works and they wouldn't be doing this if Trump didn't have the support of the American people. They hide a lot and his support runs deeper than they will show. The people are done with the media and fake news and ask themselves, don't they understand we don't trust or care about what you say anymore. In an open forum the evil left will always lose, its by their nature.

As far as I'm concerned Twitter can burn. Let it fall into the pit of irrelevant and forgotten digital relics like MySpace.

POTUS needs his own unique platform. Broadcast the press briefings on it, invite the pundits on to let them have their exclusive interviews, answer questions submitted directly from the people in live chat sessions, however it needs to run.

He leaves Twitter, a huge chunk of its users would leave right along with him.

8
ShitOfPeace 8 points ago (edited)

Let me guess, they still haven't censored Kathy Griffin's post talking about how she hopes someone murders the president? And have they censored the people supporting the violent riots in Minneapolis? I don't think I've seen that.

Yeah, that totally doesn't "glorify violence"...

8
Frosty 8 points ago

Twitter is overplaying their hand massively. This is a big mistake on their part, they basically just told the leader of the free world and FCC to go fuck themselves and shove the EO up their ass while theyre at it.

8
TotallyYuge 8 points ago (edited)

They're basically now trying to remove Trump from twitter because he is way too effective in using it as it is the tool to speak directly to the people and bypass the corrupt media. It's all about the next election.

Trump will have to keep his cool and completely destroy Twitter. They've done this to themselves.

Twitter has nothing to lose now so naturally they would hit back and see if Trump is bluffing. If he does nothing, they continue as before. If he follows through, then their fate is no different than if they didnt strike back.

The art of war. Trump will/must win.

7

Man twitter seems intent on getting themselves destroyed. Seize the domain, simple.

7

Trump hasn’t bluffed before, hopefully he doesn’t flinch here.

Address the situation in Minneapolis and then unleash hell on Twitter. Trump drew a line and they keep crossing it. Playtime is over.

7

The tweet literally says "if you don't stop these riots there will be more violence".

"When the looting starts, the shooting starts" omg DRUMPF threatening to shoot joggers in Minneapolis!?! CENSOR IT!!!

He's literally telling you that if you do not stop the riots people will die because they will escalate to taking lives. There already was one shooting with a store owner defending his property.

3
liberty4alll 3 points ago

Imagine the phone company interrupting your phone call with ‘fact checks’ and ‘warning’ you about what the person on the other end of the line said. Of course not! THATS NOT WHAT PLATFORMS DO!! Twitter needs to get their shit pushed in. Make an example out of them so the rest get in line. This cuck thinks he has the power, Trump needs to show him that he and his shit company exist solely at the pleasure of the government

use every remote law, every loophole, every far fetched reason to make their life a living hell.

You work for twitter? Congrats, you now get audited for the past 7 years and will be audited every year from now on. And you also now get added to the nofly list.

Twitter is in violation of even a remotely rare law that hasn't been used in 50 years? Too bad, Jack Dorsey gets arrested and spends 5 years in prison for letting people trade cow turds online.

Twitter office doesn't have some ADA required ramp, too bad, knock down their building and make them build a new one.

3
WeedEater 3 points ago

He says, "when the looting starts, the shooting starts." The meaning of this is unclear. Most people will assume he's ordering authorities to shoot people once they start looting. However, this could also just be an observation of what already happened to the man who was shot and killed for trying to loot that pawn shop the other night.

My guess is, this will become a common game of misinterpreting tweets and hiding them until they can prove they meant otherwise. By that time, the message expired and author is effectively silenced.

3
Deplorable_Yankee 3 points ago

He meant that looting brings more than looting. People will be forced to defend their livelihoods and businesses. These looters may also start shooting at each other. Feel free to believe the leftist spin but you are wrong.

1
Supersaiyanbroly737 1 point ago

If you read the whole sentence, it's clear Trump means, you loot we shoot. That's how you take control of riots.

Shoot what is the question. Water cannon, rubber bullets, tear gas? Live bullet is probably the last resort, but it's never out of the equation.

3
Multiple_Muppets 3 points ago

repeal the liability shield, then bring an absolutely apocalyptic avalanche of lawsuits, hundreds and hundreds of lawsuits, totalling hundreds of billions of dollars...

3
Muh_Wailing_MXbabies 3 points ago

Twitter announced the 'public interest notice' on the 'shooting' tweet around three hours after Trump had sent the message.

The social media giant said Trump's tweet 'violates our policies regarding the glorification of violence based on the historical context of the last line, its connection to violence, and the risk it could inspire similar actions today'.

'As is standard with this notice, engagements with the tweet will be limited. People will be able to retweet with comment, but will not be able to like, reply or retweet it,' a statement explained.

However, Twitter said it is 'in the public interest for the tweet to remain accessible' given its 'relevance to ongoing matters of public importance'.

Tweets from elected officials are exempt from the usual rules because there is a 'significant public interest in knowing and being able to discuss their actions and statements', the company's policies say.

'As a result, in rare instances, we may choose to leave up a Tweet from an elected or government official that would otherwise be taken down.'

These exemptions are only available to accounts with more than 100,000 followers. Trump has more than 80million.

The website told Axios that 'teams within Twitter' had decided to red-flag the president's tweet and that CEO Jack Dorsey was informed before it happened.

Trump has yet to respond to the warning message, which appeared at around 4am in Washington.

People build up followers and a long archive of past content over years and that makes it difficult for them to just move to a new platform. A lot of times a Twitter account might be attached to a business, so all of that person’s business cards will have a Twitter address on them instead of, say, a Gab address, or a YouTube address instead of a Bitchute address. This is one of the main reasons new platforms have such a hard time competing. Even if the service is better, or more free, they are not just competing against Twitter, but whatever history people have with Twitter.

Somehow ideally we could carry our content, history, and connections across platforms. That way we could pick up and leave and go to a competing service without losing any of the time, money, and effort we put into the previous service. This would then force Twitter to deliver a better user experience to attract users, rather than simply holding everyone’s content, history, and connections hostage to maintain customer loyalty. Imagine how fucking useless and irrelevant Jack Dorsey and his foreign-owned company would be if there were ten other companies to choose from who were all delivering the same content and service.

Facebook is the same way. It’s almost like certain websites need to be redefined as services, and then those companies need to be broken apart with anti-trust legislation because they have become monopolies. Let’s say Facebook was broken up into four different companies. All four deliver access to the same content, but the user has the choice to join the company that provides them with the best user experience. That would still allow Zuckerberg to censor whatever he wants, but he will now have no ability to hold customer content hostage to maintain company loyalty. You could take all your photos and comments and friends and links and just transfer them from Facebook Zuck to Facebook Musk or Facebook Red or Facebook Blue. Now it’s no longer a monopoly and the customer is in charge, not the corporation.

...as Twitter does the exact behavior Trump issues an Executive Order to disallow, hours after he signs it

That is clearly and unambiguously publishing—and not being a neutral, transparent platform for others to express their ideas uncensored.

Preventing people from seeing the president's words without first consuming your editorial content is a textbook example of editorializing.

Merely stating that the content is sensitive or whatever mealy-mouthed adjective, is editing the content.

Wonder if & when the EO will ever sink its teeth in

This is exactly like being found guilty before a trial which is completely wrong. I bet that Head of Site Integrity did this by skewering the context, making it seem like what they wanted it to appear to be. It's pretty obvious from calling him out on his tweets and on live television. No evidence on that however. "Yet".

The issue with Section 230 is it was intended to keep violence and porn off the internet. Suppress that and you are free from liability. The left is pushing censorship to get Section 230 repealed. Then they can flood any website with violence and porn and anything else, and if their stuff is censored they can sue.

Remember, if Twatter is a publisher because they censor conservatives, then TheDonald.win could be a publisher if they censor the left, Democrats, violence or porn. It is a two way street.
