I wish I could find source other than my memory...

Trump was asked what he thought of as his greatest strengths, and he said,

Bringing out the best in good people, and

Overcoming obstacles.

18
SavedintheUSA 18 points ago

That describes him perfectly. He can overcome any obstacle.

9
Dylclayton 9 points ago

Who better to build a border protecting obstacle than a man who can overcome any obstacle?

13

He's also an ace at bringing out the worst in bad people.

Not only do I love the wall, I wish we also had a 100ft deep moat with crocodiles and piranha spanning the southern border.

4
Strike08 4 points ago

Unfortunately sharks were put on the endangered species list. We tried to get some but it would have taken months to clear up the red tape.

3
jgardner 3 points ago

Nah, one we get the wall built and secured, you'll see Mexico act as a better neighbor. Once we know that every immigrant in the US is here legally, we'll see a huge drop in crime by the immigrant community as well. I imagine along the border we'll see a boom in the economy as crime drops.

Our anger will dissipate as we stop being hurt by illegal immigration.

This was the beauty of Trump's plan. He is not a fighter, but a lover, and he knows that sometimes you have to fight to love.

43
HockeyMom4Trump 43 points ago

The physical wall is great, but we also need to build a metaphorical wall and cease all government freebies to illegals. No housing, no SNAP, no medical, no education...as soon as you are caught it should be immediate deportation.

Kind of like if you sneak into a movie theater. They bust you, you’re out. They don’t give you free popcorn. They don’t let you go back and tell your friends. They just open the door and send you away. Source: Kicked out of the movie theater and onto the streets at twelve.

13
Meme_Too 13 points ago

we also need to build a metaphorical wall and cease all government freebies to illegals>

If we did that, there would be no need for a physical wall.

13
lixa 13 points ago

Still need it for the drugs, human trafficking, etc etc

6
jgardner 6 points ago

That's a libertarian globalist idea.

We'll always need walls and fences. Everyone needs to know where my property ends and your property begins. That way we won't get into property disputes.

3
HockeyMom4Trump 3 points ago

I agree. I am so sick of working families having to pay for everyone else

7
PraiseBeToScience 7 points ago

If you rob a bank, then use the cash to go buy a car, the government can seize your car as part of the proceeds of your crime.

We should be doing that to illegals since everything they do in America is a crime. Every dollar earned, when caught, gets put into government coffers, every asset seized and sold at auction. They leave the country with nothing except what they can prove they brought with them.

1
HockeyMom4Trump 1 point ago

This would be a huge WALL, I support your idea

2
Everquest4Life 2 points ago

Really the elephant in the room.

Most American's don't realize the lengths parents from other countries would go to to have their children attend American schools. Our K-12 program charges no tuition (they aren't paying property taxes) and it's illegal for us to ask if you are a citizen to attend school. An education that would cost $30k per year in their own country (US dollars) they can have for FREE if they just find their way here.

Wouldn't you do everything for your kids? These people are gaming the system, and our children are suffering. They'll sneak across a desert, pay coyotes, get raped, all to get their kids into our schools (and many other things as well) but we won't even force our lawmakers to change this stupid law so our own children can have a better education?

Require proof of citizenship for ALL government services. If caught here illegally and using public services, you must pay it back. Maybe we could start confiscating their $30k trucks they like to drive and their iPhone 11 Pro Max while they pay $0 in taxes...

1
HockeyMom4Trump 1 point ago

I support this.

24
boogalations1776 24 points ago

After they finish this one we need a Canada wall

4
vladimir_putin_007 4 points ago

Not across the entire border. America and Canda are separated in most places by rivers, mountains, cliffs, and forest. Building a wall wouldn't add any noticeable protection in these areas.

But as a Canadian, I agree that many parts of the border need walls, specify near towns and habitable areas.

5
NotProgCensored 5 points ago

I believe there a few lakes on the border too eh.

3
redpillbox_ 3 points ago

The Indian reservations along the border are also big chokepoints of gun smuggling into Canada.

4
3even 4 points ago

Please keep those open. We need the guns!

3
jgardner 3 points ago

I'm hoping we can annex the more conservative parts of Canada. I think Alberta is seriously considering seceding.

I think Canadian and American culture is pretty similar in many respects, and if they agree to allow people to carry guns and mind their own business, they might be a good addition to our empire of FREEDOM.

10
g00se2k 10 points ago

My engineering consulting firm is working on a portion of this project in Texas. I am lucky enough to have put together some of the drawings for it. The thing is LEGIT. It's not just a wall. It's a 30 ft tall steel structure with 6+ ft of concrete below grade. No one is going through, over, or under it without some serious equipment.

I'm truly humbled to be able to contribute to a part of history.

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago

I'm curious, if you were to take all the steel and concrete from the wall and shape it into a huge cube, how big would it be? If you know the specs for a single one of those 'sections' it should be easy to multiply by the length of the border.

1
g00se2k 1 point ago

Roughly 1500 cubic feet of material per 8 ft wall section, but that's kind of a deceiving number because the steel is partially hollow above a certain elevation and i'm too lazy to calculate and subtract all those voids.

1
Scuffers 1 point ago

but that guy on youtube said he could climb over it easy!

Arwyn3x 6 points ago

Those companies and workers must be so proud, it brings tears to my eyes and at the end when I saw our President in his red hat with his thumb up, my head nodded all by its self along with a silent thank you and more grateful tears.

it is not just a wall to keep people out, to hog riches for ourselves, as the democrats like to say. It is a symbol of We The People regaining control of our, and our children's future, and it is also an attempt to restore our ancient heritage.

Oh, I know the United States of America is not that old, but the ideas and principles it was founded on were inspired by a mix of ancient Greek and the Indigenous population of the eastern portion of this continent.

  • A lot of do not know what we owe to the Iroquois Confederacy, self-name (“People of the Longhouse”), Indian tribes across upper New York state that during the 17th and 18th centuries played a strategic role in the struggle between the French and British for mastery of North America. The five original Iroquois nations were the Mohawk (“People of the Flint”), Oneida (“People of the Standing Stone”), Onondaga (“People of the Hills”), Cayuga (“People of the Great Swamp”), and Seneca (“People of the Great Hill”).

  • After the Tuscarora (“People of the Shirt”) joined in 1722, the confederacy became known to the English as the Six Nations and was recognized as such at Albany, New York (1722). Often characterized as one of the world’s oldest participatory democracies, the confederacy has persisted into the 21st century.

We have a Great Nation and it has done more to improve the lives of more people then any other Nation in human history. Those sullen, greedy people who say we should not hold our altruistic, thoughtful Founding Fathers in highest esteem (as though they might have built something better and more lasting), only want their "father government" to give them more free stuff, see making us feel guilty about our founding as the way. And they stink.

I wonder about those spots where there are hills but no wall. Tinajas Atlas mtns in Az. Couldn’t they get over that? I’m sure they took that into account and decided not just wondering if anyone has input. It’s not only great to see the wall being built for our protection but to see so many Americans employed working on it. ❤️🤍💙

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago

I'm sure they could. I wonder if there's a plan though, to skip those sections and come back later, because the amount of time and money it would take is better spent on the larger flatter areas first.

At any rate if you leave just a few areas open it's easier to watch just those areas.

1
Cyer6 1 point ago

You know with this kind of $$ being spent and all the knowledge, experience and ingenuity involved, they've planned this whole thing to shore up the most heavily impacted areas first. Human beings are going to take the path of least resistance. If there's no roads, paths and means to get to those far out remote areas, very few will try to go there. People can't walk forever in those barren areas day after day without adequate support. Someone who is very well prepared and in good shape can do it, but look at some of those people. They wouldn't be able to make it so they try to cross where there's the most infrastructure leading up to the crossing.

1
lixa 1 point ago

Perhaps. They def appear to be out in the middle of nowhere spots but it would be bad if it got a reputation for being a weak point. Also seems like it’s more of an ordeal to get the equipment out there in the first place. Whatever it is I trust them to do it right (never said that about any government project before Trump LOL). Just curious!

The funny thing is that it's so much more visually appealing than prior walls. The fact that you can see through it makes it so much less of an eye sore.

Fantastic. It should just be an ongoing project for the rest of my life and beyond. Keep making the border less and less porous until the world gets it through their leftist heads that we are a sovereign country and start taking care of their own citizens and economies. Of course, we here have to vote in politicians who give a da*n about the borders, too, or else the wall serves little purpose. But it's great seeing the video of what's happening.

3

I have to say I never understood that wall in the ocean in San Diego. How is that supposed to stop anyone? Just launch a boat and go around.

2

Its not suppose to stop boats its suppose to stop swimmers, boats are easy to see and its constantly monitored. But it would be hard to swim underwater the whole distance without scuba gear.
