New Orleans also sent police door to door during Katrina, confiscating legal firearms from citizens, leaving them vulnerable to attack from rampaging looters.

Antifa wants dead cops to infringe on everyone else's rights

Boogaloo types want dead anyone trying to infringe on their rights.

A subtle, yet important difference, like bees and wasps, one just wants to be left alone to do their thing but would defend their turf to the death, one will go out of their way to fuck your shit up because it's Tuesday. Wasps are cunts.

12
Ptannerdactyl 12 points ago

Off topic aside but you can definitely make friends with wasps. If you don’t swat at them and let them figure out what you are they won’t sting you. If you’re aware of where the nest is, even better.

Heaven forbid you’re near ones nest and don’t know though. Then they hate you. Otherwise you can talk to them and they’ll know what’s up and leave.

12
lerm4comptroller 12 points ago

Not all wasps are like that: some species nest alone, and some are pretty vicious. It depends where you live and what species are around, so everyone please do some research before you act like this around wasps in your area.

5
Ptannerdactyl 5 points ago

I agree, and it’s also important to note that they tend to be more aggressive at the end of the Summer/beginning of Fall.

Also in my experience they HATE hairspray.

1
WinMoreReeLess 1 point ago

One of their primary predators is the hyper-aggressive and territorial Asilidae / robber fly / assassin fly. These flies are fast enough to land on a wasp's back mid-air and deliver a bite strong enough to disable their prey. It will hurt more than a sting, for much longer.

7
deleted 7 points ago
1
reluttr 1 point ago

We call those brown wasps dirt dobbers around here.

You can tell them apart from the red bastard wasps by looking at their stinger area, dirt dobbers stinger is connected to their body with a thin tube-like extension. Where the red wasps stinger is directly connected to their body.

Also dirt dobbers build their nest from mud, where the red wasps build theirs from paper.

The red wasps are highly aggressive and should be delt with before their numbers grow to much.

1
Mr_Mike 1 point ago

I had a little wasp buddy in my (apartment) garage... he never flew at me, buzzed me or even landed near me. He was there for about a year until maintenance sprayed him... i was legitimately a bit sad.

3
PantsJihad 3 points ago

Never thought of it this way, but that is a very apt analogy.

1
CQVFEFE 1 point ago

Wasps indeed are satanic...the pain of the sting is absurd and they can nail you over and over.

Then dont come and confiscate weapons from citizens in times of crisis. Or shoot people while theyre sleeping to "just follow orders."

9
PurestEvil 9 points ago

The issues with police is two-fold. On the one hand, they are your (inefficient?) protectors and keep people like Antifa at bay. On the other hand, they are the people who will ensure you follow arbitrary regulations and laws and pay your taxes.

Sometimes they just blatantly execute the violation of your actual human rights out of opportunities.

I am speaking in general terms, not just US. They police can be your friend or your greatest enemy. For example, because I don't pay propaganda fees in Germany, the police may break into my home and confiscate items. If I'd be home and wanted to stop them, I'd be jailed. The court system is already fully in line with several constitutional violations and gave their blessing.

Am I the bad guy? Is unconditional obedience the solution?

3
2scoops2terms2020 3 points ago

Has anything happened since you don’t pay the Rundfunk Beitrag?

1
PurestEvil 1 point ago

Well, I get letters and I guess while I am out working they knock on my door. I assume once enough "fees" have been accumulated, they'll do it. Legally they have the authority to do so for a long time now and there is nothing I can do about it... legally. I paid the first time however after a time span of ~2 years, which was ~2 years ago.

17
Crackcrank 17 points ago

The Nazi's were just following orders as well and was a common attempt for defense at the Nuremberg trials. I love cops and I am great friends with many of them from my work. I am no friend of steppers and gun-grabbers, which I guarantee not a single one of them is.

2

My immediate thought when I first heard this was that the virus is actually vampirism.

2
almond_activator 2 points ago

the virus is actually vampirism

No, vampirism is an allegory for socio-political elite pedophilia. Think about it. Immortal, immensely powerful, feeds on death, sexually aroused by preying on the innocent, giving in to the demands of one makes you a vampire as well.

Like people rationalizing sleep paralysis as a demon sitting on them, vampirism is a primitive way of rationalizing being treated like livestock for a tiny elite with no regard for their well-being and a seeming need to destroy innocence and virtue.

2

This is the second gun sale/transport ban I've heard about. What does this have to do with virus problems AT ALL? I'm am about to put on my tin foil hat

The tinfoil hat is for blocking the electromagnetic waves of thought-control technology that can apparently change and implant ideas within your brain against your will, thus controlling your behavior outright—the ultimate goal of the authoritarian-government mindset embraced and exemplified by the deep state.

This concept will continue being a hilarious joke until it's proven conclusively true, by which time it will be too late to do anything about it. Pretty ingenious, actually.

It's almost as if the same defective gene that confers collectivism—the overwhelming conviction that the individual human is only a REPLACEABLE CELL within the larger, much more important organism called Homo sapiens—also carries the obsessive compulsion to enforce this anti-human-nature concept with violent authoritarianism and disregard for human life, whether unborn, recently born, aged, or somewhere in between (because, again, we're each merely a CELL).

7
Scroon 7 points ago

I wouldn't say it's a defective gene, but it is real, and it is a dangerous one. The natural sexual process of genetic diversification will produce individuals (and eventually communities) that prefer collectivism to independence. This is how alpha predators became pets.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to be a pet.

4
xBigCoffinHunter 4 points ago

And in line with common sense. I feel it’s an over reaction but the guidelines are rooted in common sense measures to stop the spread. Shit we should shut it down every year. Nobody would get the flu.

2
Rusty_Shackleford 2 points ago

This is not to prevent people from getting the flu, it's to prevent our health system from being overwhelmed. This is much more contagious than the flu and hospitalizes many more. The healthcare system in other countries have been completely overrun. They can't handle all the coronavirus cases, and they can't do anything else either because their beds are all full of coronavirus patients. It's like a DDoS attack on our healthcare system. We have to slow it down and spread it over time to prevent the whole system from crashing like Italy or Wuhan. The normal flu never hospitalizes enough people to threaten to DDoS our entire helthcare system, that's why this is different.

3

Hopefully the courts shut this shit down. Here is what Louisiana law says about this

Louisiana Revised Statutes Annotated section 40:1796(A) provides:

No governing authority of a political subdivision shall enact after July 15, 1985, any ordinance or regulation more restrictive than state law concerning in any way the sale, purchase, possession, ownership, transfer, transportation, license, or registration of firearms, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition.

6
DisgustedByMisleadia 6 points ago

Nice find, thanks.

In the aftermath of the confiscations following Katrina, this federal law was enacted:

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/42/5207

But, that's for anyone acting from federal authority, or federal funding. And it doesn't addresses sales, just confiscation.

Hopefully, someone will file a challenge quickly. We have a similar law in Texas, and it took a round of high profile slapdowns to get municipalities to start abiding by the law.

4
DisgustedByMisleadia 4 points ago

FYI, the article says that the Second Amendment Foundation has already warned the mayor they will be suing to stop her.

1

Totally untrue. Stop buying into bullshit media narratives. Are you so naive as to think that shit began with Trump?

To the extent that Katrina was more of a disaster than any other bad storm, it was due to three things that had nothing to do with Bush: the disastrous local response (all Democrats out to get Bush and blame him), the terrible state of the levees (local corruption again), and the media attempting to derail the response wherever possible.

Kentucky has laws that specifically except guns, ammunition, and related items from being controlled by the emergency powers granted to the state.

As uber-Dem Rahm Emanual said, Never let a good crisis go to waste.

wtf does gun control have to do with coronavirus?

5
HillaryAteMyBaby 5 points ago

Because armed militias across the country are using guns to rob people of toilet paper.

Oh wait. I made that up.

5
Block_Helen 5 points ago

They just can't wait to take your liberties away. All over a panic.

Watch the glee with which they do it, too.

xBigCoffinHunter 5 points ago

Every time they talk about banning guns we go crazy buying guns.

Looking for an excuse to declare they have the authority to take your rights away. That is abuse of power. Rights can be suspended in times of emergency, but the power to strip 2nd amendment rights does not reside with a mayor. Liquor sales ? Yes. 2A ? No. She knows this, she knows the city lost the lawsuits after Katrina. This is a blatant disregard for the law, and courts. She should personally be held liable civil courts.

freespeech4all 5 points ago

all these leftists areas banning guns. But ive heard from leftists say its a scare tactic by the right that the left wants to ban guns.

Oh look it comes to life

I bet these gun bans are making many people question shit, both left and right.

5
DudeNoOne 5 points ago

Just try and enforce it.

The taking of guns during a crisis is unconstitutional, and codified illegal by congress, in 2006:

DISASTER RECOVERY PERSONAL PROTECTION ACT OF 2006

Arm yourself with the knowledge too!

She's an absolute moron anyway, so seeing this is no surprise.

I believe it was this past hurricane season, there was a storm in the Gulf, and while all the personnel were giving their briefings to the media, she'd constantly cut them off and butt back in to talk. Luckily the storm ended up being a bust for the most part, but there could've been some very serious damage if things went another way.

She's a clown.

They're like rats, testing out how to oppress people, spreading their shit and pushing all the time. How many will have to be put in the ground before they get too scared of us to pull these stunts?

3

How dare you defend your self! Oh, and let's let all the criminals free!

3
strawberryismyjam 3 points ago

But, they don't have the authority to do so.

3
_tiredofthebullshit 3 points ago

As much as I loathe the NRA, to their credit, they did sue the living fuck out of Louisiana after Katrina for trying to confiscate firearms.

I'd like to think the NRA is already preparing for round 2 but after their actions (or lack thereof in VA), I'm not holding my breath.

3
CheckorHold 3 points ago

Because I can't just go out of his jurisdiction and a buy a firearm somewhere else... or not like I have a few already. This does nothing to prevent crime.

2
redstampede 2 points ago

An emergency order without an underlying justification is illegal. This should immediately be hit with a court challenge.

It's not like a curfew intended to keep people from congregating in large groups that could spread the virus, or decrease the risk of looting. It's not like closing bars to limit transmission. Gun sales do not pose a transmission risk any more than selling comic books or desk lamps or gin.

2
jiujiujiu 2 points ago

Literally why??

2
EPic 2 points ago

Those are some nice gun rights.....it would be a shame if absolutely anything happened so we can ban them.

2
MAGANatsFan 2 points ago

A shop there should have a nice ammo sale. Let them arrest them. And enjoy a nice retirement with the windfall lawsuit results.

2
joesfunhouse 2 points ago

Because if there is ONE city that can trust the government to come through in a crisis, it's New Orleans.

We need guns more then ever now. Looters, followed by possible government overreach once the lockdowns are lifted.

I didn't know that Mayor "has" constitutional power to suspend the 2A.

Who knew. lol

2

What hardly anyone remembers or talks about is that they took people's guns away right before Katrina. Right when people needed them the most.

DEMONCRAT Dummies on display, lowest IQ competition! Race to the Bottom! Who will win the lowest score?.. LA. New Orleans Mayor - Lietoya Can'tell, or IL. Champaign Mayor - Lotsadebt "FRANK" Feignen..Both are attacking their citizenry's 2A Constitutional Rights amid a National Pandemic Crisis of Wuhan Flu. Created by Communist Red China. (Both Mayors are prime examples of "No Brains No Headaches").... Good Luck on picking your winner!

I live in a very safe/extremely low crime part of a suburban area just outside a Major Texas city.

4 houses were robbed in 1 night 2 blocks away from us. People need access to protection now more than ever.

Thankfully we have thousands of rounds and plenty of guns at home to load them into ;)

Edit: oh and lots of TP to protect

1
Wrexxis780 1 point ago

So now people just buy their guns the next town over?
