I usually refresh the page a few times to move past ads. A lot of times 2-3 refreshes is all you need. Sometimes the ads are persistent and I'm eventually forced to watch one before accessing the video but in these cases they were all different ads. What struck me as odd here is that, for YouTube TV ads, not only does 3-5-10 (I was curious) refreshes not move past the ad but every refresh returns the exact same YouTube TV advertisement which isn't typical (for me at least).

Seems to me that they basically renamed the failed venture of YouTube Red and are pushing a censorship happy streaming service with the end goal of suggesting progressive marxist channels and de-listing any and all channels which don't abide by the left's coveted "critical theory".

Cannot recommend ublock origin highly enough.

Not only does it improve your browsing experience, you help starve the leftist abomination of google which is an absolute neccessity - if they are going to demonetise and fraudulently de-platform all critics of the deepstate, then you should return the favour and demonetise youtube and google.

SlimJet is another ad blocking browser and plays well with Linux. (I also ditched Micro$oft)

ghostery works in every major browser, every platform. just set to block all and auto update, good to go. and it's open source!

I can't stand ads in general so I just close the window if it starts with the forced ad bullshit. There's nothing I can't not watch. If more people did that they'd stop trying to shove them down our throats so hard.

I'm using firefox again. I was using brave but had trouble with it so I switched back. I've found a lot of things were being blocked with brave that it seemed were being blocked by the websites to brave browser. I cant' watch fox news on any of them so I use Explorer for watching fox. Would love an alternative that worked.

  1. Drop Chrome.
  2. Get Firefox.
  3. Install "Adblocker for YouTube" extension
  4. Forget that YouTube even has ads
