Lived in both states, technically Kansas City is half in Missouri, half in Kansas. There's a Kansas City, KS and a Kansas City Missouri.
Living in Missouri and Kansas, it always appeared to me that fans throughout the state of Kansas were way more diehard than Missouri fans. You can find them in every corner of the state.
Also, Missouri has the St Louis Rams so easy to see why anyone would get confused.
Also, the team IS called the KANSAS City Chiefs.
If Trump had congratulated Missouri, people still would have bitched that Kansas wasn't given credit.
This is yet another symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome, but Kansas really should consider getting their own team instead of leeching off Missouri.

Everyone makes mistakes. This is something we should all be able to laugh about. I admit I thought it was Kansas too, but I stopped watching football a long time ago. Too many commercials and stoppage breaking up play; lost my interest

In the lead up to the superbowl about 3 weeks ago i asked my 50 year old very democratic very football loving wife what state the chiefs were in. She said kansas. For one day now she hasnt said anything negative about my geotus. Such a relief. DJT works miracles even when he is wrong.
