Not defending Twitter, but on mine, I never see trending what other people do. So I think it depends on who you're following or whatever. I don't follow any leftist types, so unless people on the right are also putting the hashtags, I don't see it on the trending thing.

I know some people follow the lefty blue checks to see what crazy nonsense they're putting out, but I just assume not even bother with it.
