I read 'The Shining' when I was 13 or 14, then read several more of his for the next 7 or so years.

When I started recognizing that he re-uses entire phrases in various books (iirc I first noticed it in 'It') I quit him, grew up, and moved on. Dude's a hack with a sewer instead of a soul.
