RE: Student debt and its effect on people's future

In regard to the above topic, Carlson made the point that out of control student debt is preventing people from assuming adult roles upon entering the work force (i.e. home ownership, marriage).

He indicated that young people are drawn to the Democratic Party due to their promises of "student loan forgiveness" and "free college".

Of course, those are unrealistic, empty promises -- but Carlson did have a point when he said that by not addressing the issue of college debt AT ALL, the Republicans are not making any attempts to entice a rather large segment of the population to embrace MAGA goals.

After all, people vote in their own self-interest. Surely, there must be some ideas that the Republicans can brainstorm to address this issue that are actually feasible.

If nothing else, a cap on tuition raises, an investigation into where all that tuition money is actually going, and perhaps a task force to study how costs can be cut and then regulations passed to see them implemented?

For those already out of the system -- perhaps a way to work off the debt through some type of community service?

These are just ideas. I am sure other people if they put their talents to it, would come up with far better suggestions.

Still, Tucker Carlson is correct. Student debt is a big issue that really should get more attention from the Republicans.

I have no self-interest in this -- I am long out of university, as are my children.
