So this is a serious question. I feel like I dont understand something on this impeachment. Why are the Democrats screaming for witnesses, didnt they have their shit already in the house? Why didnt they call people like Lev Parnas why they had their chance? I understand much of it is to embarrass the president and make him look uncooperative but in a serious question why didnt they call all these people when they were in control?

This calls for opinion, so the answers are likely going to vary. Here's mine:

  1. They were in a rush to get this out the door before Christmas while they thought they had public opinion behind them.
  2. They were having increasing difficulty justifying denying all (R) witnesses while trying to stack the deck with theirs.
  3. Their witnesses were a hot mess that kept changing their stories.

In short, they didn't have evidence, they were afraid of conflicting testimony, and now that it's obvious they've got nothing, they're desperate for a do-over.
