This is the recommendation from the Chinese researchers.

It is based on the finding that asymptomatic people, and those in the incubation period, are capable of transmitting infection. This is a big difference from most infectious diseases, and it renders the efforts to screen airline passengers useless.

Right now, we need a two-week quarantine for ALL travelers from China, and not just "monitoring" of the ones who have already fallen ill. This is onerous but would be effective, if implemented. My apologies to the travelers. I consider this a draconian measure.

Let's hope the Canadians have a good handle on how to make a vaccine, because there are enough cases to establish a permanent pool of infection in China, now, just like the flu.

Let's assume that a great big old fire breaks out in a fireworks factory? Should a neighbor simply get a bucket, bring over a short garden hose and try to put out the fire? As ludicrous as this example is, it is no different than how the WHO, and the CDC, and other institutions like the UN are managing the coronavirus outbreak. Let's just wait until it is a 5 alarm fire and then, but only then, we can call the fire department.

Let's just let the Chinese manage this and everything is going to work out just right. I guess very many have forgotten about Japan and their little nuclear incident a few years back. Significantly, Japan is considerably more Western, more open to the world community, and yet Fukusima is still a major disaster.
