These news shills are all CIA operatives. They have to have Rudy on to A) appease the audience, and B) hopefully catch him in some statement they can twist to further their goals.
The very last thing they wanted was for him to do what he did and lay it all out for the people, but Rudy's spent years dealing with these schmucks. You can't let them control a conversation.
Hell, even Hannity is a CIA guy and probably has done schmucky things in his life, but at least he has the decency to be open and honest about his relationship with the CIA, in as much as he actively wears a CIA pin for all to see, rather than pretending he's some impartial newsman with no Intel ties.
