We all know China isn't being transparent, and we all know Trump knows we know he knows they aren't being transparent.

But this is a good political move, because China, especially Xi, is all about "saving face". This was probably done to get China to do something, now or in the future. And I'm fine with that if China is shallow as a cum puddle, and it gets them to do what we want if we just pat them on the head publicly.
