I'm actually for decoupling. I think anyone doing business in China should not be allowed to do any here and vice versa. Those jobs would be back here before you could say Corona-Chan
Honestly we cannot keep fueling china's rise and think it won't end badly for us.
We can't go from fucked up train wreck on fire to perfection in one trade deal. We let it roll and see what happens. What China actually does and doesn't do, are they a good actor or bad.
I think if Trump wins he continues to stall the deal so enough investors will leave to the surrounding countries. I’m sure he wants to pave the way for a much weaker China so we can continue to pull away from needing them as a symbiotic relationship. We did get a lot in this first phase having to do with intellectual property theft so I’m seeing progress.
You’re absolutely correct though, we can’t keep hemorrhaging a trillion dollars to China every two years and expect our country to survive.
