To be fair, every history book ever written is mostly just propaganda. Just look at how Russia's actions during WW2 were downplayed by American history writers as the Cold War was approaching and Russia could not be seen as the "good guy" for entirely political reasons. Or how so many people in America and Europe think Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for "being black", rather than the fact that he was convicted for acts of violent terrorism against unarmed civilians, including the throwing of hand grenades into kindergartens.

General Patron -- who was there -- didn't think the Russians (Stalin/Stalinists) were the "good guys", and his knowledgeable opinion got him killed by his own government oh I'm sorry I mean he died in an "accident".

It truly depends on what history books you read, who wrote them, and when.

When I was a child, my father, who served in the US Navy in the S. Pacific -- there were Navajo Code Talkers on his ship, and he always said they were the nicest group of guys he ever met -- told me something pretty relevant: "Always remember, you can never really know anything, even if you were there and an eyewitness!"

Even then I understood what he meant, and knew he was right. Our present times are proving him right, aren't they? We have no idea what the hell is going on, though we all have our opinions.

And now we have Schiff telling us we're too stupid to be allowed to vote. Who knows? Maybe he's right, in which case he's too idiotic and corrupt to run for office . . . but what the hell do I know?
