  1. Comments shouldn't be deleted, only hidden.
  2. No downvote button.
  3. Comments not upvoted to a certain threshold are hidden.
  4. Hidden comments can be viewed by anyone (click to expand).

These rules will ensure only healthy community interaction happens, while allowing full 1A to occur. Who's with me?

I'm with you on the downvote button, this place is getting to be kinda silly with all the unrelated to any damn thing posts=, guess it is reddit after all.

And the goofy unrelated posts get upvoted somehow.

Also: no downvote means no paid shills can come harass our posts.

We already have that. There is no downvote button on the original posts. Only the comments section has it.

Oh, well they should absolutely have the downvote and upvote buttons. I’m not opposed to the hidden vs. deleted aspect though. That’s not a bad idea.

Only time I’ve wanted to delete a comment was an accidental placement in the wrong post. Fortunately, the edit button allowed me to make the discernment without deleting the comment.

Would be better to attach another comment with the correction than to "invisibly" edit the comment. Then everyone knows what the deal is, no shenanigans.
