It's also bad if children don't eat, so maybe offering better food choices and the reasons why might work better in the long term. Than just giving a first grader kale or nothing. Virtue signaling menus aren't necessarily the best way to achieve the objective. It's hard to find an unbiased honest review of what was wrong with their program. IMHO it frightened kids away from healthy food.

I don’t get the impression it was kale or nothing, though I realize you’re being hyperbolic. Also against virtue signaling menus, but not against healthy menus. The kind of food available at my public school growing up was really low quality stuff.

I suppose I’ll search the web to try to find details.
