Will Rogers, Samuel Clemons/Mark Twain, calling out corrupt politicians for over a hundred years since the mid-1800's. They spoke in the common sense language of everyday people who know a thing or two about life. Both are great examples for making sure all kids read, write, analyze and understand Anerican Civics plus Western Civilization.

We're probably lucky that Rogers passed when he did. The recordings that he did were preserved in the 1960s - I remember reading about how some of the acetate discs literally had to be banded together on the turntable to play them one last time for a master tape.

Today, someone with his kind of acid wit would be quickly shuffled out of the history books upon his death.
