I've pretty much always considered myself a Republican but I swung pretty Libertarian for a while there. I got super pumped about Ron Paul during his second run (I was a big Romney guy the time before). But when he finally conceded and all that was left was Obama and Romney (who I hated by then), I no longer gave a shit and stayed home in 2012. When Trump ran in 2016 I simply followed him because he was entertaining. It was refreshing to see someone straight up talk shit and call names in the political arena--a place that has been stuffy and boring my entire life. Gone were the subtleties. He was bombastic, rude, crude, and cruel. And I ate it up. When he embarrassed Hillary in the debates I fell in love with him. But despite that, I was 100% convinced he was going to lose, and living in Utah, I didn't see the point of making my way to the voting booth. I didn't want to invest too much when I thought Hillary was inevitable. On election night I was enraptured by the coverage. I couldn't believe what was happening. When he won though I actually stopped for a moment and thought "Wait fun and games aside...what the fuck kind of president would this guy actually be? Should I be worried? Is the devil I know (Hillary) better than the devil I don't know (Trump)?"

But I could not have been more pleased with that man since he took office. He has absolutely slaughtered all my hopes, my fears, my expectations, everything. My dad, who worshipped Ronald Reagan, and who also thought Trump was a little bit of a joke during his campaign, said to me after just two years of him being in office, "Trump has ALREADY wiped the floor with Reagan. If someone were to say to me 'Would you rather have Trump or Reagan' I'd take Trump without the slightest hesitation. He has already done in 2 years what took Reagan all 8. I can't even keep up with him. It's something big almost every single day. I never thought anybody could match Reagan ever again. Trump has set a completely new bar."

And I feel the same. Greatest President Ever. Already.

Oh. I say this because, I too stayed home in 2016, and I'm a Republican. I will NOT be staying home in 2020, and frankly, would do whatever was in my power to help him win re-election besides that. And I know I'm nowhere near the only one. The man won 2016 before anybody knew what he was. Now that he's had a chance to prove himself, he's going to win in the biggest landslide in American history. I can't wait to see it.

Trump has ALREADY wiped the floor with Reagan

Wasn't hard to do to the guy who fathered our entire illegal problem we are now saddled with to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars in lost tax payer money every year.

Fuck Reagan, that clown got intimidated into selling our country out.
