Short people will never be a US president again. Although it's overall a stupid notion in the modern world of guns and missiles, our primitive primate brains are programmed to see taller people as stronger, and therefore better leaders of the tribe.

While we had a total of 6 presidents that were under 5 foot 8 in height, they were all in a time before modern media, when most of the country could not even know how tall the person they were voting for is. Heck even a few of them were president before the invention of the camera.
