Is Your Company’s Diversity Training Making You More Biased? Inclusion programs often trigger an “us versus them” mindset.

Nothing is wrong with diversity. Its forced diversity that is the problem.
Exactly! Forced diversity CAN'T, I repeat, CAN'T make the workplace better. If you hire the most qualified candidate regardless of color you get the most qualified workforce. If you hire with diversity quotas in mind you might have to pass on the most qualified individual to fill a quota, thereby making your workforce less than optimum. As for "tribalism", the phrase "birds of a feather flock together" describes the natural way of things perfectly, and you can't fool mother nature.
Also leads to resentment. There could be internal resentment by the "diversity hire" to either himself, knowing he is the diversity hire. Or to the company, quietly thinking they dont think highly of him because he's the diversity hire.
And resentment from the coworkers, knowing he didnt fully deserve the spot and forcing them to work with her/him/xir/xim. Like a coaches son that has no business being on the team, let alone, be part of the starting squad. Just a jumbled mess of incohesion that shouldnt even be there.
