I mainly just go to warn people away. WatchRedditDie is still fun.

This site...could use so much, though.can't wait to see it expand when the devs put some love into it. Love it! Love it love it love it! Would love it even more if it had a few extra touches. Doesn't necessarily even need another 'sub' or to divide up forums. That might make it awkward. I like mixing up OT posts with politics and not having different places to go to. Most OT posts don't make it to Hot and so if people would prefer not to see them, they can just stay in Hot or Rising. Right?

But, being able to highlight and hyperlink text or highlight and bold, etc would be spiffy. Gifs and emojis (like old school message boards) would improve people's experience x1,000. Silly as they are, having hundreds or thousands of emojis can make expressing yourself and being funny that much more rewarding. (See, of all places, The Shroomery as a good example of an old message board with, probably, 1 or 2 thousand smileys. Of course, they don't have to crude or (as) juvenile as The Shroomery...but the kids do seem to love 'em!

I dunno, it works for what it's made for. If I want to go talk about breakcore or RoomPorn or get pissed about Leftist racism in a jiffy, I still trot on over the Reddit occasionally.

I could see other forums if they followed the same formula here (and there is a formula - it's right there in the rules).

Reddit is a hatebox with users trying to outdunk each other. We're a rally. Much more fun, and addicting. We constructively criticize from time to time but it's a rally first and foremost.

You can already do this btw. Same commands as before. Linking works too, but doesn't highlight properly with the dark CSS (it's does in your history tho). I use bold type or (link) to help people notice it if they're in dark-mode.

I'm really enjoying this forum format. I would LOVE if forum formats came back in style. They used to be everywhere, but FB destroyed them with competition. Now all is left is mostly tech or car forums. Ya know -- stuff people need quick info from for fixing shit. There used to be massive forum communities where people knew one another.

I would love to see a dedicated app sometime soon. Would be really nice and bring more people in. But I’m too worried about Tim Apple fucking it up behind closed doors in the Apple Store. Android might work better, but even still.
