The elitism is heavy in this one. It's a Vanity Fair (lefty) article primarily about "conservative" publications in Manhattan and DC that were/are NeverTrump and want to make sure there is never another Trump. Lots of cheek pecks for Billy Kristol. This bunch is the "conservative Inc." that Tucker Carlson often refers to.
As for Commentary--it has always been THE magazine of the neocons that fancy themselves as intellectuals, the very beating heart of the Never Trumpers. Despite the occasional good piece, they are the proverbial wolf-in-sheep's clothing, temporarily tempering their anti-Trump venom, while waiting for another McCain or Bush Sr. to come along. Really bad. They are not our friends.
You note that the piece does not mention Taki magazine, though they do mention the owner. That undoubtedly means that is the only publication mentioned worth reading.

Heh. And, I would use mine on American Splendor (not really). Yet, here we both are! Supporting a nationalist, reality television and real estate mogul cum US president. What a timeline! :D
What do you think of the Intellectual Dark Web?
I've been getting a lot of use out of a series of videos callee the Rubin Report with quick-talking, and quick-thinking, (and probably a one-time 'Never' Trumper) Ben Shapiro going up against Jordan Peterson. They always seem to address the very things that have interested me personally, generally speaking, for a while.
Meaning, psychology, symbolism, first causes, politics (where the aforementioned intersect with society), mythology, group think vs individuality, etc. etc.
Perhaps worth checking out. Was a very long article.
