It's quite disingenuous of them to say "Hottest on record" when the record starts about 150 years ago at what was ostensibly the coldest period of the last 8,000 years.

yup...& the records are sketchy @ best beyond 150 years ago....only "written accts of nasty storms & freezes...no actual documented numbers on a daily or even weekly basis...
