The early verses of the Koran are peaceful, but sadly they were superseded long ago, according to the fundamentalist, Wahabists school, by the abbrogating verses, where the "Verse of the Sword" surah al Tawbah supersedes the earlier "Let's all get along" verse, surah al Kafiroun (hope I spelled that right.)
