What happened to the original Reddit sub?

Over the past few days the entire sub-reddit has devolved into war cheering fangroup that would make John Bolton proud.
I always thought they were going to ban The_Donald but after getting banned myself for mentioning that a war with Iran was a bad idea, I suspect that the mods there are being blackmailed to turn the sub into a neocon echo chamber.
There are actually posts praising Jimmy Carter today. I had to let that sink in for a few minutes before it all clicked what had happened.
We need to be extra careful not to allow the dark players on Reddit from migrating here or this website will suffer the same fate.

To be honest, Iran was civilized before the CIA coup. Americans took vacations there. Even Afghanistan and Iraq in the 70s looked far more civilized than they do now. The true Arab regions (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, etc) im not so sure about though.
