For one kudos for challenging your viewpoints against your conscience. It goes a long way in solidifying your convictions and can keep you from falling into an echo chamber.
I’m with you on Benghazi. My very first thought when I saw news footage of an embassy being attacked was this was not going to end the same. Trump isn’t going to let it slide without some military action. Comparing this to 9/11 is really outlandish to me.
As for the guy deserving a trial. If it helps put things into perspective remember he was a ranking official in Iran’s military. His decisions and actions were under the sovereignty of the nation. He became a target of opportunity for the US. I would bet my bank account that intelligence has a mountain of evidence he ordered and commanded what we are hearing on the news. And trump has a room full of advisors. It was not a knee jerk decision even if it looks like that from out here.
