Fort Worth, Texas... a red city, supposedly... is doing it big time. Near the center of the city were 'projects' for all of the 40+ years I have lived in the area. Developers and the city/county have decided to move all of those people out and demolish the buildings to build upscale somethings. They are requiring all of the new subdivisions to build Section 8 houses, usually out in the back, where the Project people are being moved with rent vouchers. With that, crime is increasing in areas not in the center of town, but in neighborhoods that had almost none before.

The older craftsman style houses near the hospital district and TCU have skyrocketed in price. Minorities are being priced out of that area in terms of rent, and are having to move to apartments or Section 8 houses in the huge outlying subdivisions (where there are no bus lines or services close by).
