Affirmative Actions was sold as a temporary, admittedly unconstitutional remedy for racism, and it has since morphed into something far beyond the original idea.

The same thing happened with "school bussing," which went from a footnote in Brown v. Board of Education all the way to a national disgrace.

"My house is on fire, and the Fire Department hasn't gotten there yet to put it out." "We should stop this problem by setting fire to the Fire Station!"

That's a shit idea.

"My kids are hungry because our refrigerator died and our food went bad." "I've got it, let's open up the Neighbors' refrigerators, so their food rots too!"

That's another shit idea.

"Ah, fuck, we're late for work." "If we stand at the door and keep our co-workers with later shifts from coming inside, then we can make them late too!"
