An enemy combatant is not a US citizen. This is why gitmo exists. If we bring them here, they get constitutional protections, so they go to gitmo. If they are here already, they already have those protections and we can't send them to gitmo.

As I understood it, he was talking about people going to foreign countries and becoming an enemy combatant.
The day people agree that a US citizen on US soil can be sent to Gitmo (outside U.S. legal jurisdiction) is the day we should rise up and revolt.
We can sure as shit execute Hillary. But we cannot send her to gitmo...
