Technically, good child behavior doesn't benefit him personally, therefore it's not a quid pro quo. Elves aren't children and children aren't elves. If they were then Santa would be on the hook for violating child labor laws
While your point is well taken...I do gain great personal satisfaction from my children's good behavior, particularly when they complete a task I've given them...which may lead to a reward they appreciate. Complicated business.
