I know it's projection and all; Lord! It's all they do. And we ALL have our blind spots and hypocrisies, seeing as we're all human -- but REALLY?! THIS?! Can they really not see the absurdity of this endless round of black pots meeting black kettles?! Can they truly not see themselves? No. No they cannot. Here is why:
Romans 1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient" (KJV)
So, I wondered, "Come to think of it, what does 'reprobate' mean in this context?" The best answer came from Matthew Henry's Commentary. He explained it this way: seeing as they did not want anything of God in their minds, God gave them their wish, and left them with minds utterly devoid of Him, meaning there is nothing of God in their minds: no truth, justice, holiness, righteousness, light, love -- anything you can think of as being a characteristic of God, they do NOT have in their minds!
When I stumbled upon that answer, I gasped! Everything they do and say now makes sense to me! Including their endless hypocrisy, lies and projection -- in fact, do not expect anything else from them, for they are incapable of anything else!
